If you haven't hugged your furry friends today, please do so for me.
Last night something (I think our neighbors cat) got into Rose's cage and killed her :( She was my little furry Hereford bunny. She wasn't really a Hereford but she was colored up just like our cows!!
Here she is all laid back ~
she loved to walk on a leash and kick back & relax...
Rest in Peace Sweet Rose!

ReplyDeleteOh I am so sorry this happened to Rose and your family. It just breaks my heart. I wonder if it was a possum that did this since it happened at night. Either way my heart goes out to you.
ReplyDeleteI cried for weeks after my Lopp died. He was an indoor rabbit and totally litter box trained. He was 8 years old at the time.

ReplyDeleteAw poor Rose!! I have had other animals kill pets before and it hurts sooo much. It's not just the lose, but like you didn't protect them enough. Trust me you did. Don't blame yourself :( AW poor Rose

ReplyDeleteJust found your site and was in awe of all your artwork...saw Rose's photo and thought she was adorable, but was saddened once I read the post. I'm so sorry for your loss. As a cat owner, I feel strongly that cats should be kept indoors. I feel it was probably a larger animal than a cat though, but regardless, your loss is great and one I can relate to. I had a cat (before I started keeping them as inside pets) killed by a coyote years ago and it is very hard to take. Hugs to you and your family....Carolyn
