Fairy Lessons

Fairy Hugs just had a New Release which includes stamps, stencils and new Fairy Hugs Powder Glitter!  Today I wanted to share my latest Fairy Hugs creation...

Starla is demonstrating the proper way to create a lovely cascade of Stardust to her little fairy pupils. After all, it's all in the wrist!

To create this card I started off by applying ink over the new Woody stencil over an inky background.

Next I stamped Starla, Condo Dwellers (mini fairies), Stardust and the Fern Leaves over the panel.

Once all of the inks had dried, I added loads of sparklie details using Fairy Hugs Powder which you can see very good in the photo below.

Hmmmm don't you just love all that sparkle? It's so pretty IRL and so hard to capture in photos but I think I was able to capture just a little bit of the amazing shine and lovely colors in this photo.

So much fun to be had in Fairy Land!

Happy, Merry, Bright Blue Rinea Card

Hello friends today I wanted to share a fun Christmas card I made using Rinea Foiled papers and Crackerbox and Suzy stamps! I am in love with the blowing trees at Crackerbox and Suzy. They are such lovely images...perfect for so many occasions. Today I am using the blowing snow tree paired with the buck and doe stamps.

I began by cutting a swish of Arctic Foiled Paper and gluing it down to a Turquoise/Turquoise Starstruck panel. I then stamped the Blowing Snow Tree and the Buck and Doe using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. Just so you know this does take quite a while to dry naturally on the foiled paper. Just the nature of the beast.

Next I stamped the sentiment Happy, Merry Bright onto a piece of Turquoise/Gold Glossy foiled paper and let both the sentiment and tree panels set overnight.  The next morning I diecut the sentiment and affixed it to the panel. Once dry the panel was attached to a card blank matted with Cobalt/Cobalt Starstruck foiled paper.

Mmmmm, I just love the lovely cool feel of this card...
Hope you all have a lovely day!

Home Sweet Fairy Hive

Our little foragers are returning home after a long day...

The background for this card was created by rolling a couple different colors of Elements Inks onto a gel plate. I then flicked a few diluted Brushos Color Crystals onto the inked plate. Then press a piece of glossy cardstock into the inks. Using glossy cardstock creates a different look than using plain cardstock.

After the inks had dried I stamped with a variety of Lavinia images using VersaFine Clair Nocturne. Please note that when using VFC on glossy cardstock it will take a long time to dry naturally. If you don't let it dry completely it will smudge.  After the inks had dried I trimmed the panel and applied more inks to the edges and let dry.

To finish off the card I added Fairy Hugs Powder glitter to the hills, hive, lantern and seeds on the vines. You can never go wrong with an extra bit of sparkle.

 And there you have it...
Hope you all have a lovely day!

Wood Slice Home Sweet Home

Today I wanted to share my latest Fairy Hugs creation...

I was so excited when I saw the Fairy House. There are just so many possibilities and this is one of the first ideas I had. I've had these wood slices in my stash for a while and I thought it would be the perfect jumping off point for the Fairy House.

To create this project....

1. Paint the center of the wood slice with black acrylic paint leaving about 3/4" around the edge unpainted.
2. Determine the horizon line you want to work with and paint the lower portion with browns and the upper portion in green paints.
3. Place the Fairy House stamp in a stamp positioner, color one component of the stamp with desired color water based marker and stamp. Continue to color each component with desired colors and stamping until the image is complete.
4. Stamp extra flowers and leaves to cover the house and surrounding area. Stamp a second set of stones to extend the walkway.
5. Fussy cut the house and all extra leaves and flowers.
6. Adhere the house, extra stone steps, leaves and flowers as desired.
7. Embellish with Fairy Hugs Powder glitter.

Look for the Magic and Bloom!

Today I wanted to share my latest Fairy Hugs creation...

Who says Toadstools have to be red or orange?
How about purple and pink ones...with a bit of glitter on top!

Remember to have fun and bloom!

I stamped a whole cluster of these bright fun fungi using various colors of VersaFine Clair inks. They were then embellished with PlumFlamingo, and Pixie Dust Fairy Hugs Powder glitter. I finished the card off with a sentiment sticker and sequins from Sparkle Blends.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Fall/Winter 2020 #3

Today I wanted to share another card I made for the Fall/Winter 2020 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  I made this card using Unity Stamps that I actually won during last years hop :)

Isn't that such a sweet saying?
I stamped the cup on a piece of white cardstock, used color pencils to color it in, added the glitter (everything is better with glitter right?) then it was die-cut. After it was cut, I added the sentiment.

The background wast stamped on white cardstock then inked around the edges, corners trimmed and mounted on a black card blank that also had it's corners trimmed.  I added the image and called it done :)

Supplies:

Unity Stamp Co - all of the images
Colored Pencils (assorted brands)
Fairy Hugs Powder - Pixie Dust Glitter
Imagine - VersaFine Clair - Nocturne, Acron; Sponge Dauber

Swim with Me

Today I thought we'd go for a swim with this lovely mermaid Zelith from Lavinia Stamps.

I started off with one of the background papers I made the other day on the Elements Inks post. I stamped Zelith with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink then embossed with black embossing powder. She was watercolored with a lovely purple metallic paint.

Next I tore a piece of paper and inked up the ocean floor; I then stamped the Sunken Ship and various sea plants. The fish were added and bubbles were stamped here and there to fill in some areas. A bit of penwork and glitter came next. Finally I stamped and painted the clamshell which was added to the sea bottom.

This panel was then popped onto a white mat and blue card base.

Below are a few more shots of the card...

Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop 2020 - #2 Preston

My 2nd card in the 2020 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop....

Preston!

My next card was so much fun because I LOVE Preston (Rubbernecker)!!  Isn't he darling? I think he's adorable. He was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock along with the sentiments (Unity Stamp Co) colored then cut using a Gina Marie geometric oval.  The background (Rubbernecker) was stamped on a panel then inked around the edges. It was mounted to a kraft card base then Preston and his frame were adhered.

Hope you pop over to check out all of the amazing artwork in the hop.

Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop 2020

I'm a bit late getting started but I didn't want to miss out on this fun blog hop!

Here are the first of my makes....

My first card is a bit of a celebration - I started off by flicking all sorts of watercolors onto a white cardstock panel. I then stamped the coffee cup (Fun Stampers Journey) and the sentiment (Rubbernecker). The coffee cup was colored then I added glitter here and there.

It's a Froggie Great Day!

 Hello friends!!

Today I wanted to share my latest Fairy Hugs creation...

Froggie is enjoying a perfect afternoon under a toadstool.

To create this card....

1. Stamp the Waterfall on a card panel with VersaMark Clair inks.
2. Use watercolors to color the stones and waterfall.
3. Decide where you want your waterline to be and use a mask to ink up the grass areas using green and the water using blue inks.
4. Use peg stamps to stamp grass and flowers along the far bank, by the waterfall and in the foreground.
5. On a separate piece of scrap paper stamp two Toadstools and Mini Frog with desired colors of ink.
6. Apply glue to the water and waterfall areas then sprinkle with Fairy Hugs Powder Pixie Dust and Arctic.
7. Once the glitter has dried, adhere the toadstools and mini frog to the scene.
8. Affix this panel to a card blank.

Hope you all have a hoppin' fine day!
