It's a Witch Thing Flip Book

I hope you're enjoying Fall or whatever season it is in your neck of the woods.

This months theme at Conjurer of Dreams is Witch Wisdom. When I was thinking about this theme I came up with so much good Witch wisdom that I decided to make a little book to hold it all. I decided to make this fun little flip book made from a single sheet of cardstock folded and scored to make loads of space to hold all these great images an bits of witch wisdom!

Merry Little Ornaments

 Me again...

The current Quarterly Challenge over at Gecko Galz is Altered Ornaments...

I was cleaning out my ribbon tower recently and found this lovely trim. I knew it would go perfectly with these fun images. I added half pearls for a classy touch.

The pink sides are from the Victorian Christmas Paper Pack and the main images are from the Christmas Dreamland Collage sheet.  The little bits are from the Compliments of the Season Junk Journal Kit as well as the Altered Christmas collage sheets.

You know me and my sparkle...
I had to add glitter here and there just to spice them up a bit.

Hello Pumpkin!

 Hello Friends!

Just wanted to share a fun card I made using an Anna Griffin die...

Such a fun card! I went with very traditional colors for this one but I think I am going to experiment with different color combinations for my next ones. I couldn't resist adding a bit of pen and ink to the pumpkin...it was just a little too clean for my liking  - LOL!!

Everything you see here minus the white sentiments which I made myself is from that kit! I just love the beautiful witches, saying cards and the extra little bits and bobs included in the kit! Everything you need for junk journals and more!

A Bit of Witchy Fun

A couple more challenge projects ...

This is the image for the Gothic challenge at Gecko Galz this month.  Isn't she beautiful?  I just love her. Added some gold paper to mat the image, some sparklie rhinestones and that darling little pumpkin.

These ATC's were made for the ATC Challenge - this month's collage sheet was called Vintage Witches. I decided to make some "salt" paper - watercolor paper, inky spray and coarse salt. Always amazing results.

Gecko Galz October Challenges

 Hello Friends -

I hope you are doing well. Today I wanted to share a bit of art I made for a few of the October image challenges over at Gecko Galz.

My first project is the Card Challenge - Isn't she lovely. I used a bit of gold shimmer paper as the mat with some gold leaf trim and gold glitter glue which isn't showing up very well in the photo. I finished it off with a very fitting sentiment.

The Fantasy challenge featured this radiant stag image. I thought he looked very wintery so I made a fun shaker card for him. I LOVE the ring sequins don't you? They are so much fun and add so much interest which I paired with the flat sequins which are ever so popular at the moment.

My next project for the Christmas Challenge is rather large. It is a 6x10 plaque which I upcycled by adding a bit of brown cardstock to mat the bird/lantern image. I printed a second copy of the bird/lantern which I fussy cut and trimmed out the glass area of the lantern. I then used Distress Oxide inks to mimic the original color of the glass.

THEN I added lights!! Which you can see lit in the photo below.  To finish it off I added lots of glitter and faux snow.

and

My final project I have to share today is the Steampunk Challenge and this lovely image of a steampunk maiden with a hat full of flowers. I decided to run with that theme and matted her on copper metallic paper onto a vintage BINGO card and then I added lots and lots of paper flowers with a few mini gears tucked here and there.  I just love how she turned out so she's going up on my wall of art.

I hope you've enjoyed this bit of art and have a lovely week to come!

If The Shoe Fits...

 Happy October!!

In the past I have participated in the 31 Days of Halloween but I don't have that much time to devote to posting every day but I do have some fun Halloween goodness to share through out the month.

Today I want to start off with a bang...

If the Shoe Fits Altered Vintage Wood Shoe Form

All of the collage images are from Gecko Galz

I used a sepia toned decoupage glue to give it the nice vintage look. Added some ribbons, glitter border stickers and of course Mr. Skelly.

I was so happy with my idea to make the heels...foam pumpkins! I stacked 2 "regular" pumpkins and 2 glitter pumpkins. The bottom of the shoe and center portion is covered in black glitter just for some extra shine and shimmer.

So, if the shoe fits....
go kick some Halloween butt!!

Upcycled Twig Ornaments

 Hello Everyone!

The current quarterly challenge at Gecko Galz is Altered Ornaments!

Today I created a little set of ornaments using a recycled twig ornament as my base.  These had a bell and holly hanging in the center of each twig frame so I took that off (and saved it for another project) and went about adding various collage image elements from several GG collage sheets.

Each ornaments is backed with a patten from the Country Christmas 2 collage sheet then I added various elements from Altered Christmas, Christmas Scraps, Compliments of the Season JJ Kit and Vintage Christmas JJ Kit. The girls are from the Vintage Christmas JJ kit as well. I added a few goodies from my Christmas embellishment stash to finish them off! So happy with how they turned out.

Magical ATC's & Mini Note Books

Good Friday the 13th Morning to you all!

Hope you're having a wickedly fun day :)

Today I have a couple projects to share...

First is a set of magical ATC cards I made for the Gecko Galz ATC Challenge for September. These were made using the collage sheet called High Priestess.

Lots and lots of glitter glue was used in the making of these puppies!
Gotta love that sparkle :)

I also made a couple mini note books for their main challenge - Stay Wild Moon Child.
These of course also have a bit of bling to them. I added a bit of ribbon for a place marker.

Hope you're finding time to create!
It's my sanity and I feel so much better when I do.

Gecko Galz Collage Image Challenges

Been playing with the new challenges over at Gecko Galz - they always have such cool images to play with.  Here's what I've made so far....

Christmas Challenge - isn't he just darling :)

For the Fantasy Challenge...I love this unicorn.
There is some glitter pen work in the background which isn't showing.

This is the tag challenge on their FB Business page.
You just make a tag and incorporate this lovely image.

The Steampunk challenge. The red mat is velvet paper! It looks amazing with the copper die-cuts and red gemstones.

The owl is for the Card Challenge. It's such a beautiful image with the black and gold. The background paper has a gold luster to it and the leaves are gold foil. LOVE how this one turned out.

Finally the Gothic Challenge was the stack of books/hat/candle. I am making a Goth/Halloween journal so I knew I had to use it in here. The sentiment is from Conjurer of Dreams.

So there you go...this is what I did with a bit of spare time, a little glue, some paper and lots of ink. Hope you all are having a crafty time of it.

More Gecko Galz Challenges for August

As I mentioned in my last post I have been playing along with the challenges at Gecko Galz blog for a while now. Each month they have a theme which I shared in my previous post but they also have several other challenges where GG provides a specific image and you create a project using that image.

Here is what I made for these challenges....

The image for the card challenge...I just LOVE the blue - she's beautiful don't you think?

A very pretty image for the Christmas challenge - I used a few bits from my stash including the lovely Dresden trim. It's been in my collection for such a long time - it's great to put it to use.

The dragon is the Fantasy challenge image. It's so funny because I had JUST seen this funny quote on FB recently and knew it would be the perfect addition. The witch is from "The Witches" collage set.

The 3 little ghosts on a swing is the Gothic challenge image. You all know how much I LOVE Halloween. Well I couldn't pass up this chance to make a decoration for my favorite holiday. I made this altered 3D decoupage canvas - it's got 4 different layers which doesn't show up real well but.....

They do show up better in the dark when you turn on the tiny fairy lights I have hidden inside!!!
I am so excited about this piece - it is so much fun, I can't wait to display it this Halloween.

It's hard to get "dark" pics of it but I hope you can get the spooky "effect" I was going for.

Finally my take on the Steampunk challenge image. She was so very pretty and I choose to emphasize the blue in the image with the addition of blue inks and sequins to make her pop.

Hope you have enjoyed my take on these fun collage challenges.

Beauties of the Far East Challenge

Hello Friends -

Long time...things have been crazy busy and not much time for crafting but I finally had a chance to make a few things so I'm going to be sharing them with you now.

As you may or may not know Gecko Galz is a collage store on Etsy. They have been around for many years and I've been enjoying their monthly challenges hosted both on the blog and facebook page. The blog has a main themed challenge each month which you can use any of their images to create a project as long as it follows the theme. This month it is Beauties of the Far East and this is my creation...

I used a couple images from the Beautiful Geishas Tin Toppers sheet for this candy tin - one for the front and one on the inside of the lid...

The text is part of an element from the Asian Waters Junk Journal kit to line the bottom of the tin.

And of course you have to have something to put inside the tin so I made 3 domino magnets using images from the Asian Beauties image kit.

They fit inside very nicely don't you think?
