More Collage Image Fun

A few more challenges...

My first project is a Memory Dex card I made using the Gothic image for July. I love this sentiment... In a world full of princesses, be a witch.  And a fun raven wax seal.

I LOVE this image for the Card challenge. She has got such a cool vibe going on. I think I may have to use her for some other projects but since this is the card challenge I made a card. I decided to cut her off the background (which is also very cool) and make a collaged background for her using lots of bits and pieces.

My final card is full of glitz for the Christmas image.
I thought this image was so fun and retro I ran with it.
Lots of glitter and gemstones in 50's colors really makes the image pop don't you think?

Gecko Galz Challenge Fun

Finally getting around to posting some of the challenge projects I have made for the Gecko Galz monthly challenges this month.

My first card is filled with lots of painty - glittery goodness!  This is the Fantasy challenge image for July. I used a gel press background I made using some fun stencils and pretty paints to match the image.  I then framed it with a couple glittery know everything is better with a bit of bling.

My next creation is a under the sea tag I made using the Steampunk image. A steampunk mermaid!! I used some steampunk gear paper to cover the tag as well as a fun wax seal of an octopus underwater scene.

Hope you enjoy...

Angels Sing!

Here is the Christmas Challenge image for June from Gecko Galz.
The little dots you see (and many you can't see) are glitter.
It's so hard to capture the sparklie goodness.

Beautiful in Yellow

This is the Card Challenge image of June for Gecko Galz.
Now normally I stay away from yellow because to me it's a scary color - LOL!!
But I conquered my fear and went with it.

I have some language flash cards...this one is Russian for Beautiful.

Steampunk Opportunity

 Hello Friends...

Hope you are surviving the heat - the "Real Feel" temps here have been over 100 here today and it is expected to continue for at least 7 more days before we "cool off" into the upper 80s - LOL!!

Today I have a fun Steampunk card using the current challenge image at Gecko Galz....

I think the sentiment fits her perfectly ;)

Mermaid Embroidery Hoop Plaque

A new creation for the Gecko Galz Fantasy Challenge. Each month Gecko Galz shares an image to be used for the current month's challenge. This is the Fantasy Challenge image and what I made with it...

I printed the image on regular copy paper then I applied baby oil over the entire image. I let it dry for 3 days. This process creates a translucent image. I used an old embroidery hoop for the frame, added lots of die-cuts and some real shells to finish it off.

This is what it looks like in the really does look like she is under the sea! So pleased with how it turned out.

Signs of Summer Flamingo Welcome Sign

Hello Everyone

New month of challenges over at Gecko Galz. Today I have a project that fits into both the monthly challenge (Signs of Summer) and their quarterly challenge (Altered Wall Plaques).

I used images from the Flamingo Court Junk Journal kit plus lots of diecuts and the fun plaque that had a funky photo decoupaged on it. A couple coats of paint and a whole new plaque appears!

Floral Dreamland Cardfolios

 Hello Friends -

I hope you've found some time to be creative.

Today I finished up a couple cardfolios for the Gecko Galz Monthly Challenge - Floral Dreamland.  I made 6 cards to tuck inside each one. I left them fairly simple to allow the recipient to decide what sentiment or occasion they would like to use them for.

These are the folios - I used images from the Carved Flowers paper pack to decorate the covers.

And each folio is large enough to hold 6 cards and 2A envelopes. I also tucked in a book of stamps into each one to help with postage when they use them.

I used images from the May Card Topper kit to create the cards. I simply love the dreamy images of them all... This is set #1.

And this is set #2.

I hope you enjoy these goodies and they inspire you to make a few of your own.

With Love

So very excited to share this project with you today. Rather than another card I have been trying to think of a way to use the Gothic Challenge image from Gecko Galz. WELLLLL I did it and I love how it turned out. ....

Isn't she awesome? I loved the image and knew I wanted to do something special with her and I finally came up with an idea rummaging around with things piled on my desk. This is one of those wooden boxes that wood die-cut embellishments come in!! You see THIS is why I never throw anything away - I knew I'd use them one day - LOL!!

So, I broke out a couple of the cross members to open up the outer compartments and painted it black. I then cut the image so each piece fit in the little boxes. I again went to my stash for spooky looking pieces and came up with these great wood bits. AND I was so lucky to find these faded looking roses to embellish it with. I think they match the colors of the image perfectly.

Hope you enjoy!

Discover Fairy Swan Card

The Monthly Card Challenge image at Gecko Galz is this darling fairy riding a swan and this is the card I made using it.

Moonlit Nights Oversized Tag

Each month Gecko Galz hosts a whole range of challenges using their collage images. This month's Fantasy challenge is of this little fairy riding a snail. I just love her and made this oversized tag (9"tall) with her.

Papers are from Fairy Hugs and Club Scrap, the flowers, lace and fibers are from my stash of goodies.

It's lighted!!

I just love how it turned out. What do you think?

The Greatest Pleasure

This month's Gothic challenge at Gecko Galz is a really fun image...check her out.

I made this fun card...

I cut out a window in the front of the card and hand drew the spider webs on a piece of acetate. I added a touch of color to her lips and eyes but left the rest of her b/w.

The sentiment reads - The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.
So true and I think it fits her perfectly.

Ho Ho Ho...

This month's Christmas challenge at Gecko Galz is a fun Santa image....

I printed the image twice then fussy cut Santa from the background (which was black). I then cut out the lantern, his hat and the frosty frame from the second image. The lantern and his had were added to the image with a single layer of foam tape and to give it more dimension the frame was added with two layers of foam tape.

I used some faux fur for his hat trim and ball then added glitter to the frame and lantern.

Oh I used a vintage page from a ledger (page #25) from 1957 which I painted with a mica watercolor.

Thanks for checking it out...
Have a lovely day!

Create Magic

Gecko Galz has a new challenge this month...Fantasy!

Here is what I created using this month's image...

I printed the image with muted colors then used some mica watercolor paints to add color to and make it sparkle. I wish I could capture the shimmer. It is so amazing IRL.

I also had the perfect wax seal for the canvas....

Go create some magic of your own!

My Spirit Animal....

Another fun card to share with you for the current challenge Let's Fly. This time I used one of my favorite Hard Luck Pixies - Lucy.....she's got such a great grumpy going's so easy to love her.

I started off by inking up a scrap of orange/pink pattern paper that was in my stash. I stamped Lucy in the center and then stamped off a second image for a mask. I did the same with the Unicorn sentiment. I then stamped a grungy background using stamps from Brush Strokes and parts of the background stamp Grunge Black Swirl here and there.

Remember there is plenty of time to join in on the fun as our challenges run for the entire month now. Pull out your stamps that will let your imagination FLY!

Little Red Riding Hood ATC's

This month's ATC challenge at Gecko Galz features the Gothic Red Riding Hood ATC sheet. I wanted to make something a bit different so I dug through my ATC/Playing Card stash and found these fun crooked cards! They are from a real deck of cards but the shape is so much fun...just for a change of pace....

A Strange Story

I must admit that this month's Gothic Challenge at Gecko Galz has given me a run for my money. I started a Goth/Halloween junk journal last year and have been slowly adding new lay-outs each month. Well I really had to give this a think but I am thrilled with how it finally turned out!

Magical Mushroom Magnets

The theme for the month at Gecko Galz is Magical Mushrooms. Their monthly newsletter was filled with delightful mushroom images. I liked them so much I decided to do a bit of decoupage and makes some 3D mushroom magnets.  I made them fit into my mini Swedish tart tins I bought on a little shopping trip dh and I found at an antique store recently.

Each image has 3 layers plus a little moss at the bottom.

I am hard pressed to choose a favorite image but I think the little multi-color watercolor mushroom might be it.  Which is your favorite?

Asian Beauty

This month's image for the Card challenge at Gecko Galz is this lovely floral Asian beauty. I used one of my dies from Spellbinders to make this lovely background. It turned out exactly as I envisioned it. I love it when that happens!
