Edgar A. Poe Shrine

 Happy Friday the 13th!!!

You know a month just isn't long enough for all the fun Halloween stuff I want to make.  Today I wanted to share a shrine I made of Mr. Halloween himself Edgar A. Poe....

The base for this shrine is a metal "book" I bought at borders a long time ago on clearance after Christmas one year.  It had a plastic liner that was designed to hold a gift card.  I took that out and revamped it for this shrine.

I used several collage sheets from Gecko Galz - Poe 1 & Poe 2, Raven, as well as a few of their digi stamps.

I added some black roses, cheese cloth, foil leaves and a bit of glitter.

I added some details with a gold paint pen and some G45 pattern papers in the background.

Hope you like my creation...

Christmas Kitty Tag

Hello Friends...

I don't know if you recall or not but in past years I've participated in the Cat Lovers Blog Hop. Well the host of that lovely hop was Janis Woolbright who passed away in January. To honor her memory the Christmas Kickstart Challenge is hosting a month long Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge.

For Day 8 of the challenge a friend came up with a fun Tic-Tac-Toe game board where you choose 3 of the prompts to create a card. I went diagonal and chose  Die cut, Tag and Stamping.  Here is my creation...

I started off with a kraft colored tag that I stamped using Lavina trees and VersaFine inks. I used die-cut kitties from Scrapbook Outlet, a star from Spellbinders and the sentiment (???).  I added a bit of white marker (snow & on the ground) and glitter just because I can ;)  LOL!!

I hope it would please Janis to see the little kitties looking up at the sky for her...

Frightful Evening

Ahhh...another fun day of Halloween goodness.

For todays card I started off by applying 3 colors of Distress Oxide inks to a white card panel using an acetate circle to create a moon. I then flicked on a bit of water and blotted it off (creating such a lovely look).  I used the negative circle die to apply Brilliance White ink (give it a bit of shimmer) to the moon area.

Next I stamped the Ledger background stamp using Dove Grey ink.   The Cityscape image was stamped along the bottom.  The Witch 2 was then stamped riding across the moon.  I used markers to color her in a bit.  Finally I used a glitter pen to add stars and outline the moon for a bit of sparkle.  I added the  "frightful" sentiment which I outlined with a marker.

Creepy Little Doll...Wanna play a game???

Oh my...I had such fun with this challenge. Each month Gecko Galz offer up a "stamp" challenge. It's a line image that you have to color and work into a project of some sort. I thought this month's image would be a perfect Halloween card.... what do you think?

Creepy Steampunk Web

 Another challenge from Gecko Galz...

This time a steampunk challenge

Yes, that is a baby this steampunk spider has in web.  I had the frame and extra gears but it needed something more...specially since Halloween is near.  Snackage...

Happy World Card Making Day...

Hope you can find a bit of time to create today :)

I'm making more for the Gecko Galz monthly challenges so I'll be posting them shortly...

First challenge isn't a card though...the image for their Christmas challenge is beautiful, I thought she'd make a nice plaque for the wall...

The background is made from foam board which was covered with lots of strips of specialty papers in green. I added gold Dresden Trim to the edges then affixed the image to the plaque.  I then slowly glued down the silver rope with mini candy canes and Christmas lights all twisty around the image.  I added a few glitter holly bits and a black label holder (with brads). I stamped the merry Christmas sentiment on a strip of paper and inserted it into the label holder. Finally I added a bit of leafy/berry wire for the hanger.

This is for the Gecko Galz October Christmas Challenge.

We're all Quite Mad Here....

Autumn Beauty

 Hello friends!

I have been enjoying the new Challenges over at Gecko Galz and this is one of them.  This was the image for the Card Challenge for October. I love her...very Autumn and a little creepy (for Halloween).

To create the card I used a variety of spray inks which were blotted onto a piece of white card. I then added Sepp guilding flakes here and there for a beautiful deep color and shine. The image and background pieces were mounted on metallic blue cardstock.  I used a few fabric leaves as accents as well as a cameo I made using bits from my stash.

Be sure to stop over and check out all of the fun at Gecko Galz blog.

Wicked Little Devil

Ahhh...another day of Halloween Fun over on the Lost Coast Designs blog.
Check out today's card....

For this card I used a printed background paper and stamped the Evil Eye image using VersaFine Clair Nocturn Ink (black).  I then used a variety of Zig Kuretake Clean Brush markers to color him up. I used a white paint pen to color in his teeth, horns and nails.  I used a fun little word card which describes him perfectly don't you think?

Be sure to join in on the fun and you might just be a lucky winner...

Creepy Circus

Creepy Circus is the theme over at Gecko Galz this month...

I had fun with this one...

He's great isn't he? I just love him... I went with my much loved vintage feel for it and used some old circus posters/images to back him up along with the fun vintage circus starburst background.

If you haven't played along with any Gecko Galz challenges you should really give them a try. They are so much fun!!

Nevermore

Hello hello hello my inky friends....welcome to my favorite time of the year!!!

The 31 Days of Halloween Challenge kicks off today over on the Lost Coast Designs Blog...are we ready to get things started???

Here is my first offering for the month...Nevermore!  Yes, I do love a bit of Poe at Halloween.

I began by inking up a piece of white cardstock using a die-cut acetate circle to create the moon. I then stamped the Tree with Birds several times overlapping a bit here and there to create my spooky forest.  I then added the sentiment Nevermore.  A bit of glitter (which I couldn't capture in the photo) plus a bit of white paint pen stars finished it off. The panel was then mounted on a black card base.

I hope you join in on the 31 days of fun we have in store for you...
the more entries, the bigger and better the prize!!
