Elegant Hearts Shaker Card

Happy Day!
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend so far...

Have you made a shaker card recently?
I loved them when they were around for the first time many years ago. I am so tickled that they are coming back because I still love them.  Of course part of the reason is that they are filled with sparklie, glittery goodness!  You know how I love my sparkle.

Anyway, there is a big event going on at Doodles Paper Playground - they are having a shaker card contest where you could be the lucky guest designer winner for a whole year!  It would be so much fun so you're going to be seeing quite a few shakers from me for a bit - LOL!!

And to get the ball rolling...

This one was a bit tricky because the shaker walls had to be really thin due to the elaborate heart diecut. I originally had red behind the heart but switched it to white so the shaker bits would show up better.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle - one of my favorite Valentine stamp sets - Lots of Love.

The shakie bits are Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground.
Papers are Authentique's Amour set and the heart is a Spellbinders set.

Don't ya just love a great shaker?

Supplies:

Doodles Paper Playground - Sparkle Blends - Conversation Hearts
Spellbinders - Heart Diecut
Authentique - Amour
Imagine - VersaFineClair - Nocturne, Tulip Red
Avery Elle - Sentiment

As it happens that it's almost Valentine's day so this card fits into LOTS of challenges....
(this tickles me cause I almost never fit into multiples)

Pop this on your blog to find us fast!

and of course....

The Art of Silhouettes

The current challenge at Lost Coast Designs is
you guessed it ....

And here is my creation!

Since the weather is a bit dreary I thought it would be fun to go monochromatic with GREEN!! Such a nice Spring flavored color - fresh grass, new leaves - something other than snow - LOL!!

I started off by stamping the winged angel using Verdant VersaFine Clair Ink; I then stamped "Beauty" with Memento Bamboo ink.  The background flourishes were stamped using Green Oasis VersaFine Clair Ink then spritzed with Frost Sheer Shimmer Spritz.

I trimmed the angel, matted her on white cardstock, added a few gemstones and a bit of twine then pop dotted her onto the card base.  It's very sparklie IRL - wish you could see it.

Now it's your turn!!
Stamp out a silhouette and enter for your chance to win!

Supplies:

Lost Coast Designs - Silhouette Angel, Misc Words, Long Swirl

Other -
Imagine - VersaFine Clair - Verdant, Green Oasis; Memento - Bamboo; Frost Sheer Shimmer Spritz
Twine, Gemstones, Cardstock

This is Rinea Foiled Paper - Part 1

I thought it would be fun to explore Rinea Foiled Papers this month so I'm going to be sharing various ideas for using the foiled papers.

And here are today's examples....

This first example demonstrates how cleanly the Lavender/Gold Glossy Rinea Foiled Paper can be diecut and embossed in one operation. These medallions were cut using the Sizzix cut and emboss folder.  As you can see the foiled papers hold the shape beautifully.

I wanted to show how nicely the foiled paper takes acrylic paints. I used a credit card to swipe various colors of paint across the Ebony/Gold Glossy foiled paper in succession while each was still a bit wet. You can see the depth I achieved using this method.

The grungy side of me loves how you can crumble the foiled papers up, open it back up again, smooth it out a bit and it holds it's shape. This Mocha/Mocha Starstruck is one of my favorite colors.

Finally I have a fun dimensional flower I made using the 3D Rolled Star Diecut Set. I cut the Sapphire/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper using the medium sized star diecut. I rolled half of the petals into a point while the others I rolled into a cylinder. I then added a medium Turquoise and  small Jade diecut flower to the center.  As you can see all of the petals have held their shape perfectly.

GIVEAWAY TIME!!!

This month I wanted to share a bit more about Rinea Foiled Papers with you.
I will be sharing lots of fun ways to use these lovely papers with you to "Spark your Creativity"!

Today is just the first of several posts that will gain you entry to the giveaway.

To be entered all you have to do is comment on this post or on the related post on my Facebook page (Roni Johnson). (One comment per post please) Each time you see a new Rinea post between now and the 27th of January be sure to comment for another new entry. The drawing will close at 12:00 pm January 27th and the winner will be drawn randomly and announced on January 28th.

One lucky winner will receive the Love Variety Foiled Paper Pack (6x12) and Pastel Foiled Paper Variety Pack (4x6) show above.

Good Luck Everyone!!

Giveaway Winner

Well, just getting to the final drawing for the month of giveaways due to all of the temporary internet interference courtesy of Frontier....

The winner is (drawn on Random.org) ....

I keep wanting to try gelli plate printing. It is a little messy and my work area is not too big (and crowded with stuff). So it has held me back from trying it. I also just ordered the distress oxide and am looking forward to playing with them. Have a great day Roni!

Congratulations Donna!
Please e-mail me your snail mail addy so I can get your goodies in the mail.

A Month of Giveaways - Week 3

It's so much fun seeing what everyone's top 3 goodies were! The winner of that question (selected using random.org) is....

Denise Bryant!!!
Congrats Denise, please e-mail me your snail mail addy.

Die cutter and dies, Tonic paper cutter, and Scotch double stick tape are my go-to items!

Now for week #3's question.....

What techniques/products are on your
"To Learn/Do" list???

Well, my list continues to grow and grow. I finally have some really nice watercolors and papers but now time is the issue. I'd also like to try "Flow" painting but spaces is more the issue with that - I don't really have anyplace set up to let something like that sit for an extended period of time. I have so many 3-D projects I want to upcycle and alter; crochet - I have lots of little critters I want to make as well as more Bigfoot creatures; I'd love to learn calligraphy; and well...you can see I'll never be board or wanting for something to do - LOL!!

How about you???

A Month of Giveaways - Week 2

Before I get to the 2nd giveaway I need to draw a winner from the hat for all of the entries for week #1....

And that winner is.....

Gerri Carter

Gerri Carter  April 8, 2017 at 3:47 PM

I love card making too! And collecting all the goodies to make them...maybe a little too much! I love color and rich looking textures and baubles and Golds and oh dear....I babbled. I love them all!

Congratulations Gerri!
Please e-mail me your snail mail addy.

Now on to week #2's question...

What are your top 3 must have craft goodies?
(beyond the basics of paper, glue and stamps, oh and photos if you scrap.)

My top 3 would consist of...

1. Fiskars Micro Tips - I've had them since I started crafting and I don't know what I'd do without them. They stay sharp forever I think - almost 20 years for this pair!

2. ATG gun - I've saved SOOOOOO much money since I bought it and it's a great adhesive.

3. Big Kick & Dies - so much goodness comes from that machine.

Now it's your turn!

Sunflower Calendar Winner!!

The winner of the Sunflower Journal and Calendar Organizer is....

from some company) and I could keep some
important items there as well - change them
up as new things come in.
the hop was great. Amazing things that
people can use to make other amazing things.
thanks

Altoid Tin Winner!!

Well have you had a chance to look at all of the amazing tins from the Altered Candy Tin Swap?  Pretty cool huh?  Well if you recall I asked for you all to guess which theme was the most popular and which state had the most players.

Well, there was only one person that guessed the favorite theme correctly...she guessed that Indiana was one of the states which had the most players in the swap.

That person was...

Ocean for the first, Christmas for the second and IN for the state.
Can't wait to see them all!

..
Heidi!!!

Congratulations Heidi!!
Your goodies will be going in the mail next week!

The most popular theme was the Ocean!  There were 5 ocean/sea related tins, Flowers came in second and Halloween was third.

Now the question about where the most entries were state wise was sort of an easy question because there were in fact 4 states tide for first - each with 2 entries.  Those states were - Indiana, Illinois, Florida and Texas.
