This is Rinea Foiled Papers #8

Today is the final installment of This is Rinea Foiled Papers.
I hope you have enjoyed learning a bit more about what these papers can do.
Be sure to leave your comments for your chance to win some of these amazing papers!

My first example I have for you is an origami peacock!
Isn't he adorable?

Here is a link to the video I watched to learn how to make him....

He is just so amazing...

Stamp - Carmen's Veranda

The next example is a stamped panel using StazOn inks.
It really takes stamping so well.

This is a fun technique for this paper.
It is a piece of foiled paper that has been heated to the point that it puffs up!
I simply held the heat tool over the paper, heating up sections and all of a sudden it started to puff up. Once it cools off you get those cool wrinkles here and there while other areas stay a bit puffy. It's really a very cool look IRL. Very dimensional with all that texture.

Finally I have another die-cut flower - this time a carnation diecut was used to cut these petals. I thought it would be fun to use the Silver/Silver Starstruck Foiled Papers for a change. I love how you can krinkle the petals up like a carnation and they hold their shape.  Another one you've just got to see IRL to get the full impact.

It's a Piece of Cake....a Foiled Cake Gift Box that is!

Hello Friends, I'm over on the Rinea blog today with my Valentine's Day slice of cake gift box!  It's coming up roses.

I had so much fun making this cake, it is perfect for that little something for your someone special!  Think tickets to his/her favorite show, a sweet treat or even a sparklie piece of jewelry...whatever it is it'll be sure to please.

For complete directions on how I created this cake and these roses, please see the Rinea blog....

This is Rinea Foiled Paper #7

We're almost there!
Almost time for the give-away!
Are you excited...do you want to win?
Be sure to leave your comments both here on the blog and on my Facebook page for all of your chances to win!!

I decided I wanted to see if I could make an entire scene using just the foiled papers.  What do you think?  These are all Gina Marie dies which I love!  The only extra was a bit of glue and glitter on the "snow"

This example is another diecut from Gina Marie...this time it's a floral cover die.  Isn't the contrast just stunning?

Another fun technique is to emboss then use sand paper to lightly sand off the color here and there.  It really makes this wood grain pop don't you think?

Finally I wanted to create impact so I cut black and gold foiled papers into shreds of various widths and made a real for sure pompom!  It measures approximately 4" across and over 3" tall!!  These are so cool and all I did was lay the shreds over a piece of wire, tie the wire into a knot and fluff.  It was so easy and it creates quite the statement piece!

Less Is More Challenge 387

I am in the mood for some challenges so I'm going to be posting a few over the next couple of days....

Today I am playing with the sketch from

I started off with a cream colored card base that has a design in light blue embedded in the cardstock - it shows up more when you ink over it.

I inked up the spotlight areas on the sketch then stamped snowflakes in those areas.

Next I stamped the sentiment and tiny heart.

Quick and easy!

Supplies:

Carta Bella - Let It Snow
Simon Says Stamp - Tiny Christmas Words (heart)
Imagine - Versa Fine Clair - Paradise, Blue Belle, Nocturne, Tulip Red

It's a Double Take!

Hello my Ink Stained friends!
I hope you're having a marvelous week so far.

Today I wanted to share a fun technique using both the Imagine Craft Mat and VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink....

Mirror Image Stamping!

Many people don't realize that Imagine has a wickedly cool Craft Mat...

Imagine Craft Mat

which has just gone through a make-over with a color change and a fun new grid pattern on the back. Perfect for all sorts of techniques.

Today I wanted to share with you how easy it is to create a mirror image using the Craft Mat and VersaFine Clair Ink.

Can you guess which mermaid was the original and which one is the mirror image?

Check out the Imagine blog to find out which is which!

This is Rinea Foiled Paper #6

Welcome to another fun filled post of techniques to use with Rinea Foiled Papers!

My first technique is really fun - I embossed Jade Foiled Paper then rubbed Rinea Ghost Ink over the entire panel and followed the directions on how to use.  When you are done you will wipe away the ink which also takes the color with it!!  How cool is that - I actually used the reverse side of the embossed foil so the ink was left in the impressions of the ferns.

I made these flowers to show how pretty it is to mix and match to make a really pretty 3D piece.  I used Violet, Lavender and Blush.

This is another idea on how to incorporate the 3D Hyacinth Die Set into your projects.  Last time I showed you an ear of corn...today I popped that corn for a nifty movie snack!!  How fun is that?

Finally I applied DecoArt Crackle Medium over the panel, let it dry and flaked off various areas. NOTE - if you're not careful you could flake it all off since the paper is slick.  Once I was satisfied with the look I covered the entire piece with a layer of Glaze to secure the remaining medium to the foiled paper.  Such texture!!!

The Art of Silhouettes

The current challenge at Lost Coast Designs is
you guessed it ....

And here is my creation!

Since the weather is a bit dreary I thought it would be fun to go monochromatic with GREEN!! Such a nice Spring flavored color - fresh grass, new leaves - something other than snow - LOL!!

I started off by stamping the winged angel using Verdant VersaFine Clair Ink; I then stamped "Beauty" with Memento Bamboo ink.  The background flourishes were stamped using Green Oasis VersaFine Clair Ink then spritzed with Frost Sheer Shimmer Spritz.

I trimmed the angel, matted her on white cardstock, added a few gemstones and a bit of twine then pop dotted her onto the card base.  It's very sparklie IRL - wish you could see it.

Now it's your turn!!
Stamp out a silhouette and enter for your chance to win!

Supplies:

Lost Coast Designs - Silhouette Angel, Misc Words, Long Swirl

Other -
Imagine - VersaFine Clair - Verdant, Green Oasis; Memento - Bamboo; Frost Sheer Shimmer Spritz
Twine, Gemstones, Cardstock

This is Rinea Foiled Papers #5

Welcome to another post about Rinea Foiled Papers!
I have some fun stuff for you today...

I love making rosettes and making them using Rinea Foiled Papers kicks them up a few notches because WOW, just look at that shine.  This entire piece was made using the foiled papers...from the rosette to the medallion and even the #1 was die cut from the foiled papers. Super cool and oh so easy.

I LOVE this technique - circles stamped using StazOn ink then colored with alcohol markers. I love how the inks allow the shimmer and shine from the papers to show through!

These are die-cuts (ribbon) and paper punched pieces (bells & holly leaf) used to decorate an Artist Trading Coin! Of course we knew that the foiled papers are easily cut with dies but it cuts equally as well with paper punches so dig those relics out and put them to use!  I know I have.

Today's final piece is super fun...these are stamps from Just For Fun Stamps that allow you to create a 3D dress! I stamped on the back side of the foiled paper, cut and assembled. Just think of all the combinations!!

This is Rinea Foiled Paper - #4

Hello Friends -

Work has been crazy here so I haven't had a chance to post in a while but I'm going to catch everyone up and give you lots of chances to comment for your chance to win some of these lovely foiled papers.

Here are today's examples of various techniques to use the foiled papers...

The first one is one of my favorites because my guys are farmers and I live in Indiana...  An ear of corn!  I made this using the 3D Hyacinth Die Set!!  It was so easy and so much fun - I can't wait to use this on some cards for some of  my farmer friends :)

This example was made using Creative Medium through a stencil. It is amazing how well these paper take to mixed media projects.

I LOVE this - it is Copper Starstruck foiled paper that has been distressed with a layer of ferrous oxide paint! It looks so cool in person plus it has a wicked texture to boot!

Last but certainly not least is an image transfer using an ink jet printed image and Creative Medium. It is so easy and the results are stunning.  I can't wait to make more of these on other colors of the foiled papers. It is such a cool technique with amazing results don't you think?

This is Rinea Foiled Papers #3

Welcome to Day 3 of my introduction of
Rinea Foiled Papers
to you...

And here are today's examples....

The first example is a lovely Hyacinth made using the 3D Hyacinth Diecut Set. It cuts both the flower portion as well as the frilly leaves.  The foiled paper is cut then wound around a core - I used a paper straw but of course you could use a wood dowel rod, skewer, toothpick or whatever you have on hand.  These are lovely when presented in a bouquet.

The diecuts are also useful in other applications as you will see in the coming days :)

For this example I cut strips of the foiled papers to create my very own pattern on the lovely Blush background. You can create any number of patterns by cutting the papers to various widths and affixing them to your project.  So easy yet very striking.

I choose Marigold Foiled Paper to show you how amazing these papers look when used in the deep impression embossing folders. The folders really bring out the beauty of these papers as they create their own shadows and highlights from the play of light over the embossing.

Just as the foiled papers are great for origami they work equally as well with Tea Bag Folding as demonstrated here on this pretty star design. I made a large silver star that was topped with the Sapphire and Turquoise star.
