I hadn't thought to check recently but someone asked me how many copies of my book has sold.

Well I just checked and I have surpassed

Woo Hoooo!!!

TYV Collage & Altered Arts Book Owners - Favor to Ask...

Hi Everyone!

I have a little favor to ask all of you "TYV-Collage & Altered Arts" book owners out there.

I would really appreciate it if you could go to Amazon and post a review of the book. You don't have to make anything up, just give your honest opinions on the book, techniques, projects, whatever you'd like.

The reason I'm asking is the more reviews a book gets the higher it rates when someone does a search for these types of books.

Right now when you request - Altered Arts it's #14, but it's way down the list when someone does a search on collage. It's #1 when you search for both collage & altered art though :) so that's somethin'.

Books are Arriving!

Well the first of the books have started arriving at their destinations!!! I've been getting lots of e-mails telling me how much they like it. It's so great to hear what you all think of the book. I'm so tickled!! It makes all the hard work and long nights well worth it! I hope to hear what you think of the techniques once you give them a try too!

I have also officially sold out of my first shipment! Totally amazed me, it seems to be selling like hotcakes!! They went much faster than I anticipated so I've got a partial order coming in about a week or so and more coming a couple weeks after that. So if you order a book in the coming days please be patient...I'm getting the books as quickly as possible and will have them shipped as soon as I get them.

Room Update...

Well, things are progressing ~ I've had to take time out of organizing to clean/freeze green beans, get the computer moved, get Ben moved in and settled into his new room and clean the house ~ it's been torn apart for so long it's good to have it back in order again! I can only take it for so long then it starts bugging the heck out of me - LOL!!

I'm hoping to have most everything put away in the room tomorrow and maybe even get photos taken to share. I'm really excited about how things look. I'm sure I'll move things around once I get in it and start working but till then things are at least finding a new home.

Storage of various items has been a challenge. I'm trying to do it on a non-existent budget so I'm using up all sorts of shoe boxes, re-purposing and scavenging other containers so it's not going to look like one of those $5,000.00 room make overs where everything is matched and perfect but it's going to be organized, functional and MINE :)

I'm not real excited about how my mounted stamps are going to be stored but until I figure out a better way it's got to work.

How do you all store your Wood Mounted Stamps?

I'd love to hear/see all about it.

Well, that's all for now...hopefully by next week things will be back in working order and I'll be able to start sharing more fun techniques, projects and ideas :)

Studio Move in Progress!!

Hi Everyone!

I thought I'd jump on and let you know what was going on.

First and foremost all of the books that were pre-ordered have been signed, sealed and shipped!! YEAH!!!! I have an extra little surprise ~ ALL of the books sent come with an extra something ~ I had more than enough projects (Cards, ATC's, Plaques, etc) from the book to share with everyone! It was originally going to be the first 25 orders but as I sorted through the "Project" boxes I found plenty to share with everyone!

Hope you all enjoy the book and the little extra. I'd love to hear what you think after you get a chance to take a look!

AND

There has been progress on my new room!!! We got Ben's stuff moved out Sat. a.m., I painted Sat. afternoon and started moving in on Sunday!! I've been working like mad trying to get everything moved from one place to another ~ sorting, containerizing, storing... I'd say I'm a little over 1/2 way done. I hope to have the rest moved tomorrow so we can get Ben's new room set up. Right now he's sleeping on the couch and complaining constantly. :S

I'm sorry about not having any project to post but I promise as soon as I get everything situated new projects, techniques and more will resume as usual!

Book Update!!!!

I talked to my editor today and got an update on how things are going...

The books will be fully bound by 7-10 and will start shipping from Wiley on July 20th!!!

Here is what she said...."From what I’ve seen so far, the book is going to be absolutely gorgeous"

Pre-Order Book Info & Special Give-A-Way

I thought I'd answer a few questions about the book, pre-order

and announce an extra little something ;)

How are the books being shipped?

I am shipping everything Flat Rate Priority Mail - US - $4.95, International - $12.95.

I know...I could send it Media Mail in the US but let me explain why I am sending them Priority ~ first the cost difference between Priority & MM is about $1.40. Not much of a savings when you consider that Media Mail is usually the last bit of mail to be sorted and takes 7-11 days shipping. Another plus is that Priority Mail is supposed to take 2-3 days ~ you get to start playing all the sooner ;) and I can get free delivery confirmation so we both can track the package and know exactly where the book is at.... no lost packages :) I like that a lot!!

International Shipping

Since Pay-Pal didn't offer multiple shipping options I had to break down the international shipping charge by adding the difference into the drop down box in the Signature Preference area.

US books are listed for $20.00 and International are $28.00. The extra $8.00 difference on the International book option is actually just the rest of the shipping charge that I wasn't able to add in the shipping charge area. So it works out to Book = $20.00 + $12.95 Flat Rate International Priority Mail.

(NOTE: Int. Flat Rate PM is actually cheaper than sending it as a First Class package.)

So, if you are International, please use the appropriate selection in the drop down box :)

Multiple Book Orders

If you would like to order multiple books please e-mail me and let me know. I can send you a PP money request with the appropriate postage. Only one book fits into the flat rate mailer so I will need to investigate other shipping methods.

That was most of the questions people were asking so on to the extra little surprise....

I have been sorting out all of the boxes of goodies that were used as examples/projects in the book. As you know I am posting some on Etsy (link on the right hand side), Mom has claimed a few of her fav's, I am giving a few as gifts to people I had in mind when I made particular projects, and I have some saved back to give away here on the blog once the book has been released.

Well, that still leaves me with a nice little assortment of projects that need to find new homes. ATC's, Card fronts, Gothic Arches, Charms, Altered Jewelry, etc...

I decided to share these extras with the first 25 people who place an order for a signed copy of the book! I will cover any additional shipping costs that might be incurred so if you are in that 25 you don't have to worry about any extra shipping :) Just my way of thanking you for your support of my dream!!

I also wanted to let you all know I understand if you'd rather order from Amazon or buy your book locally to save on shipping fees ~ I know how tight things are around the country & world so it's totally no worries :) Like I said ~ even if you're not one of the first 25 people to order I have a stash of goodies held back to give away here so you still have a chance to win...no purchase necessary as they say ;) LOL!!!

Newspaper Article on My Book!!!
