Crafts Galore Encore Challenge!!

So very excited to announce that I am now a member of the

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge team!!

It's a fun new opportunity to share art with you all and I am honored to be a part of this fun group. The challenge is always anything goes so if you're in the mood to create, be sure to pop your design into this challenge and you just might be a lucky winner chosen at random!

This month the team is featuring the work of Last Minute Miranda. A shop filled with lots and lots of fun images.

I was lucky enough to work with a set of darling images called Berry Sweet Mice...

This set has all sorts of fun elements to it which I printed on 110lb cardstock. All of the elements were colored using Distress Crayons, a bit of colored pencils and markers. I fussy cut each piece then mounted it on a white card and gingham pattern paper. I used foam tape to pop some elements off the background. I had lots of fun with this card and I hope the recipient enjoys it as well.

Hope you are inspired to create and if you are, remember to pop your creation in the challenge.

Good Luck Friends!!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Happy Easter Banner

Well, today I have a banner I made using the current digi stamp challenge over at Gecko Galz....

I printed 18 of the eggs but ended up using just 15 of them.
Each egg was colored with markers, colored pencils and posca pens.
I then used die-cut letters to spell out the sentiment.

Medieval Gothic Arch

Another challenge from Gecko Galz - this time it's the Stamp Challenge. They give you a free "digital stamp" to color and incorporate into a project.

This month's image is very medieval so I thought what better way to showcase it than a Gothic Arch!

I colored this image with lots of different mediums - I started with colored pencils at the base then added alcohol markers, mica watercolor paints, gel pens and metallic markers. It was so much fun to color.

Without change...

Today I wanted to share a card I made using the current digital stamp for this months challenge over at Gecko Galz...

I LOVE this image. I decided I wanted to use blue (my fav. color) for this butterfly. I know it's not realistic but I like it all the same and hope you enjoy it as well. I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and X-Press It cardstock. If you've never tried this paper before you should. It is amazing - so easy to blend colors and such a smooth silky finish.

Gnome-y Christmas Wishes

The stamp challenge at Gecko Galz gives you a digital image that you need to create with.  Well, I stepped a bit outside my box with this one and went BRIGHT...very bright for me.  The pink on the little girl gnome scares me a bit but hey...got be brave sometimes - LOL!!

To help temper the very bright pink I added glitter...lots and lots of glitter.
Made me feel better about the bright pink - LOL!!

Wicked Little Devil

Ahhh...another day of Halloween Fun over on the Lost Coast Designs blog.

For this card I used a printed background paper and stamped the Evil Eye image using VersaFine Clair Nocturn Ink (black).  I then used a variety of Zig Kuretake Clean Brush markers to color him up. I used a white paint pen to color in his teeth, horns and nails.  I used a fun little word card which describes him perfectly don't you think?

House Mouse Birthday Card

 Hello All..

Wanted to share this card I made for my youngest sons recent birthday....  He likes the House Mouse stamps and I have so much fun using them.  I used the Sprinkles stamp plus a little candle stamp from one of the HM Cubes.  Just added some extra sprinkles to cover up the bottom of the candle so it blends seamlessly.

I am entering this into the current House-Mouse & Friends Challenge #398 :)

Steampunk Mermaid

Hello Friends - The current challenge over at Lost Coast Designs/Carmen's Veranda  - Steampunk/Vintage is quickly coming to a close.  You still have a bit of time to join in on the fun and today I have my final Steampunk card to share with you...my Steampunk Mermaid.

I started off by stamping the Steampunk Mermaid on a piece of vellum using StazOn ink.  Once the ink had dried I colored the back of the image with a variety of markers and left her to dry.  After the inks had dried I tore the edges and set aside.

I created the background with pigment powders in shades of blue. I stamped the Gears background stamp using VersaMark ink and embossed it using gold, silver and copper embossing powders.  I crumbled up the mat several times to give it a distressed look, scraped the edges with an envelope opener then mounted it onto a blue card.

The Steampunk Mermaid was affixed to the card using liquid glue in the two corners which I covered up with a few metal gears.

I hope you have a bit of time to join in on this challenge...

Steamy Christmas Wishes

Welcome Welcome my friends!!

Today I wanted to share a fun card for the current challenge over at Lost Coast Designs...

I thought it would be fun to play around with a Steampunk Christmas so I stamped and colored the Gears 2 background using various shades of red and green markers in my stash.  I then colored the Steampunk Heart using the same colors.  I trimmed the background to fit onto a red card base then added a bit of burlap, the heart and sentiment from the Party Words set.

Hope you join in on the fun with Christmas in July!!

Estrella's Moonlight Stroll

Today I wanted to share my latest Fairy Hugs creation...

Estrella is one of the newest fairies to join the Fairy Hugs family but soon to become one of your favorites. She is so dainty and pretty with her lovely pose.

Today I stared off by inking up the Gelli Plate with various colors of ink then flicked on diluted Brusho Colour Crystals over the top. I placed a shipping tag over the ink creating the resulting tag you see.  Next I used a die cut piece of acetate for the moon and inked around the edges. I then stamped the Pine Branches across the top of the panel with brown ink which I went back in with a green marker to enhance the pine needles. The flying owl was stamped along side the Pine Branches.

Estrella was then stamped on the bottom third of the card with black ink. I colored her wings with a pink marker then added a bit of glitter. I used a torn piece of paper to sponge in the ground with green ink, stamped the grass and popped it onto the pink mat on the blue card base.

Gnome-y Fun...

Hello Friends - Happy May!  I thought it would be fun to share some Gnome cards I've been making lately.  Lost Coast Designs has a whole slue of new gnomes and gnome homes stamps at the moment and are they ever fun.  It's fun to use different mediums to color them with so that's what I've been doing lately.  I'm on a use what you have kick so you may see some papers/mediums that are a bit out of date but still beautiful :)

Two Gnomes paired with vintage G45 Bohemian Bazaar and a teal velvet ribbon. These gnomes were colored with zig clean brush markers.

This little dude hiding in the daisies was colored using both markers and colored pencils. The background is "watered down" (with alcohol) alcohol inks.

Finally the Gnome Trio...so much fun, it was colored with various markers and the background is Doodle Garden which was stamped with Silver Delicata ink. It's got such a lovely shimmer IRL.

Hope you all are doing well, staying safe and gettin' a little bit inky!

Steampunk Octopus Up Lifting Framed Magnet

Good Day to you all! As I mentioned earlier this week Rinea and the folks at Creative Embellishments have teamed up this month to bring you some fun creations. Today I have my second project to share with you....Mr Octopus and his very uplifting message. I started off with this wicked Steampunk Octopus Frame.

Here's how I made it....

I started off by tracing the basic shape of the frame on a piece of chipboard. I intentionally left some of the elements off the chipboard to give the design room to breath to create a more natural "oceany" look if that makes any sense.

Next I covered it with Turquoise/Gold Glossy foiled paper.

I colored the octopus frame using my Kuretake ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens, a Uni Ball Signo gel pen and some glitter pens. Lots of colors all blended together.

I glued the frame to the chipboard piece.

You can see how some of the tentacles and seaweed extends beyond the chipboard piece.

Next I stamped the sentiment (Unity Stamp Co.) on a piece of vellum and tore it to fit the frame.

I added some sequins...

And micro beads and when it was all dry I added a couple magnets to the back.

A few more looks....

I just love how this turned out... Creative Embellishments has a few other octopus pieces that I now realize I need - they are just too much fun to play with.

I am going to enter this into their March 2020 challenge because the colors inspired the coloring of this little guy.

Supplies:

Creative Embellishments - Steampunk Octopus Frame
Kuretake ZIG Clean Color Brush Markers
Uni Ball Signo White Gel Pen
Unity Stamp Co - Sentiment
Imagine - StazOn Jet Black Ink
Doodles Paper Playground - Sparkle Blends Month - March - Aquamarine
Chipboard, Micro Beads, Glitter Pens, Vellum

Woodland Magnetic Candy Tin

Hello Friends!

Can you believe it's only 1 more week until Thanksgiving!!!
I just don't know where the year has gone, it's flown by.

One of my favorite childhood memories with regards to Christmas is getting into our stockings! It didn't matter how early we got up we were only allowed to dig into our stockings until everyone was ready to open gifts (when Mom and Dad said). It was like a pre-game special - LOL!! Shoot Mom still makes us all stockings which is just fine with me :)

So today's project is something that will fit into any stocking with easy and I think it's a pretty fun idea... a magnetic woodland themed play set all tucked inside an Altoids/candy tin.

So Imagine teamed up with Joy Clair Rubber Stamps this month and I was able to choose the stamp sets I wanted to work with. Once I saw this set of stamps I KNEW I had to make this magnetic play set with them.

I have been saving magnetic sheets that come with some metal dies to use for something and this was the perfect time to pull them out and create. My magnetic sheets had a white back so I was all set to go but if you have a sheet that is just the black magnetic sheet you can simply adhere a sheet of white paper to the magnetic sheet. works perfectly fine and what I've had to do in the past.

I stamped the images onto the magnet using StazOn inks and then colored each image with alcohol markers.

I stamped the images onto the magnet using StazOn inks and then colored each image with alcohol markers.

I think these would be so much fun to play with and make up stories for the little ones - boys and girls alike.

Have a lovely day my friends!!
Stay Inky :)
