I wanted to thank you all for your kind words and hugs for dear Rose.
It means so much to me.

Thanks!
I have decided to play with Perfect Pearls this week...
Today's technique is called ~
Pearl Crystals
It incorporates a bit of embossing using Rangers Antiquities - Frosted Crystal Embossing Powder, Perfect Medium and Perfect Pearls for color.
Supplies:
Perfect Pearls
Perfect Medium
Perfect Pearls Brushes
Antiquities Frosted Crystal Embossing Powder
Heat Gun
Black or Dark Colored Cardstock
Rubber Stamps
Instructions:
1. Stamp desired images onto dark or black cardstock using Perfect Medium.
Note: This ink is "Perfect" for making watermarks on all colors of cardstock!
2. Sprinkle embossing powder onto your cardstock and rotate the granules around until all of the stamped images have been completely coated in powder.
3. Shake off excess powder back into the container for later use.
4. Heat the ep covered images until all powder has melted. Let the images cool.
After the melted ep cools, run your fingers over the images. You will notice that this embossing powder isn't smooth and shiny as regular ep's are once heated. This ep retains a rough textured feel which is essential for this technique!
5. Pick up a tiny amount of Perfect Pearls pigment powder using the small tipped PP brush. Carefully brush the PP over the desired embossed image. You will immediately notice how the Frosted Crystal traps the Perfect Pearls and highlights the embossed image!
6. Apply additional colors of Perfect Pearls to all images as desired.
7. Once you're satisfied with the colors, use the larger PP brush to gently remove excess powder.
Your paper is now ready to be used!!
The photo just does not do this technique justice...take a look at these close up images ~ they show a fraction of the sparkle and shimmer that the combination of the Perfect Pearls and Frosted Crystals creates...
Awesome isn't it?
Such a fun technique which requires very little supplies but packs a huge "WOW" factor when you're finished!
Tomorrow I'll share a few more examples of this technique on various colors of cardstock as well as some finished cards and tags using the resulting paper.
Hope you stop by then!
Till then friends, go get inky!!!
Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIs this Antiquities Frosted Crystal Embossing Powder a new or existing Ranger product? I have not heard of it before... but that's not saying much. lol
Another fun technique. Thanks, Roni!!
Thanks Phin!
ReplyDeleteNo, as a matter of fact the Frosted Crystal EP has been out for quite a while ~ people just don't realize how totally awesome it is so it's not as widely known as some of their other EP's.
It's way cool stuff!!
