Yes, you read that right...
Today is Ink Stains 4th Birthday!
and no,
it's not an anniversary...
it's a birthday.
I consider this place my baby,
I put a lot of hard work into it so it's like a child to me...
I figure that's a good enough reason to call it a birthday :)
Since it's #4 I thought I'd share 4 of my favorite things on the blog....
#1 - Quotes, sayings, sentiments.... I have collected quotes for a long long time...I have slowly been sorting through the scraps of paper and compiling the lists here. It's taken a while but they are starting to add up. I have quite a few more to go through but eventually I hope to have them all listed at some point. I hope you all find as much enjoyment in them as I do.
#2 - Anything to do with the Ink Blending Tool..... If you visit here very much you know how much I love that thing!
#3 - Collage projects.... One of my favorite forms of art... Collage, altered arts, mixed media....whatever you want to call it, I love it! You'll find lots and lots of examples here on the blog and in my book - Teach Yourself Visually Collage & Altered Arts!
#4 - techniques, Techniques, TECHNIQUES!! I love to play, experiment and share my results with you.
Now another thing I like about the blog is that I can share my love of arts with you and what a better way to do so than to give away some of my favorite goodies!!!
So if you'd like a shot at winning the
HUGE pile of goodies
(shown below)
The prize package includes...an assortment of Tim Holtz Holiday papers, a set of Christmas embossing folders, a 5.5x5.5" Configurations Box...
A Tim Holtz Paper Stash (from the attic), a set of holiday Stencils, a couple Fractured Dolls...
An assortment of rubber stamps from various mfg....
A set of BOTH Limited Edition Distress Ink Pads by Tim Holtz/Ranger; the new white - Picket Fence Distress Stain, a few cream and black tags, a couple wonderful smelling "melts" (like candles but meant to be melted in a hot pot) and a few other surprises!
all you have to do is tell me what your favorite part of
Ink Stains is
and/or
what you'd like to see in the future!
(Please be sure to leave some sort of contact e-mail addy)
You have until 12-10-11 to post your comment to be entered to win!!!
Good Luck Everyone!!

Well, happy birthday to your blog first of all. I guess my favorite thing would be your wondeful tutorials you share. Your art is always so beautiful and I love that you share how you make it with us followers.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I love all the techniques- I am learning to use products I sold but never used- I closed my LSS last year and now I have time to play!

Thanks,
Kat
Happy Birthday little Miss Ink Stains! You are the most precocious four year old I have ever met. You fill my days with wonder and delight and never cease to amaze me with your talents and you warm and generous spirit.
ReplyDeleteI adore all your tutorials, swaps and insightful product reviews.

ReplyDeleteniclagi.gent@gmail.com
Congrats on your anniversary! I love your blog and my favorite part is the tutorials- I love all of the ideas you put into my head....I had to go get into Art Journaling.....still on page one and two....making some progress though!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogday Roni! There is so much to love about your blog, where to start? I guess what I love the most is how you show us how to use things we already have in a new way without having to run off to the shops and fork out more money on "product". For me art and craft is about creative thinking not buying a heap if stuff and sticking it all down so it looks pretty. I just know that you are inspiring people who think they have no creative talents to have a go. You are so generous with your persitent yet gentle encouragement that it's too hard to resist trying a technique or project.
ReplyDeleteI am currently working alongside (lagging behind!) you doing my art journal pages. This has been fantastic and well paced so I guess I would like to see more of there project tutorials!
Hugs xox
Happy Birthday... wow 4 years, that's great! I think I love everything you share!!! lol The blending tool is one of my fav's too...and the most used! I have "copied" many of your projects...and love all the techniques...you always inspire me! I can't think of anything you should do differently. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for putting together an awesome give-away!!!!
Happy, Happy Birthday t your BABY! I have much enjoyed watching him/her grow over the past year. I have learned much from your generous sharing of techniques and enjoy blog on a regular basis :). Thanks for sharing and best wishes for many more birthdays!
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I continue to enjoy all of the ATC cards you sent me in the most recent exchange. That would be one of my favorite things on your blog. It was the first time I ever participated in an exchange. It was great. I look forward to more. I have always enjoyed watching the various exchanges and seeing all the great exchanges that came in!
But the top two favorite things I love about your blog is:
1) Techniques!!! You are the number ONE place I go to when I need to learn how to do something or need fresh ideas or inspiration!
2) New or at least Different Product Reviews always like how you compare, contrast, and teach us how to use various products and tools.
2) Your personal opinions and recommendations. I like your "style" and appreciate your advice. Tonight, for example, I went to your blog because I wanted to find so e new, not so common and reputable sites to purchase to things - new stamps and some neat card stock. I am hoping you will have some links I can check out.
It would be very hard for me to pick one favorite thing I would like to see more of. Ibut of I had to choose one thing, then more techniques.
Holiday Blessings, Mary
Happy 4th birthday to you and your blog!!! I love your blog, especially the tutorials of the different techniques. Thanks so much for the chance at winning this great prize. Shari (cricutrookie)

As I go through my blog list each day there are several that I skip over, but I always click on yours. I love your style and how you explain things so well. My favorite thing is your techniques. Hi Roni:
ReplyDeleteI'm very much a lurker, but a hugely active one! It's my way of staying informed about what's going on in the US and the UK and of keeping up with new techniques and crazes . . . . and your blog helps tremendously with this. I can't pick out any one single element; it's just all really fun, informative, and appreciated. I look forward to every posting you make, and get ideas and inspiration from you on a regular basis. HAPPY BIRTHDAY and many, many thanks for all you do for everyone.
Greetings from Sally in France

Happy Birthday/Anniversary!! I love getting your email every day, and I really look forward to your techniques. Its so nice to see ways that I can use my supplies in a way I have not thought of before. The techniques are my fave!
ReplyDeleteOh, I also love that you show all the different TH Distress inks on tags side by side to compare all the colors. That is super helpful.
sueayawho at yahoo dot com
Happy Birhtday, Ink Stains!
ReplyDeleteI like how thoroughly you put any popular item or technique through its paces - ie, image transfers, embossing powders. I feel like I'm getting more of an objective advice than elsewhere.
Happy 4th Blogaversary Roni!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all your inspiration and long may you keep it going with such flair.
I adore the Distress Stains as they are so versatile and because they really speed up the process of applying colour to larger areas.
Really generous candy too so thanks for the chance!

Time flies doesn't it! I'm so glad I found your blog 2 years ago, I've learned so much from you! And I do hope you will be around for the next 4 years :D I'm sorry but I can't give you one thing that I like about your blog because I can't choose, your experiments and sharing your knowledge and your view on art has changed how I experience making art, never ever be afraid of experimenting and making mistakes, those are just as useful as making a great piece of art!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 4th anniversary of your amazing blog. I love the techniques and the templates.
ReplyDeletePlease keep on the fantastic work. Thanks for sharing.
Well .... congrats on turning 4 !!! Fantastic. I love watching all that you produce and share on your blog. And may I say ... what a FANTASTIC gift for someone to win. cheers :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 4 year anniversary! I love the techniques you share and the tips. The most recent one for me was the labeling of the stains and much that helps me in color selection.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your baby turning four! That shows a lot of love and a lot of work that is for sure! My favorite part of Ink Stains is YOU! you share so much of your self and your talent. thank you. (and I love your techniques and all the experimenting I get to do by being inspired by you)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 4 years! Awesome! I have you on my reader so I keep up with every post. I love watching all the neat techniques you show us!
ReplyDeleteHappiest of Birthdays Roni! It has been an amazing 4 years!
ReplyDeleteI love all the techniques! You make me think outside the box, sometimes even outside the neighborhood!
I love the charms the most! I was in the last swap, and I can't wait to join again!
Happy Fourth Birthday Roni!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I have to say how much I love your blog and check it daily to see what you have been up to! I love your inspiration and creativity and I find you very entertaining as well.
I would love to learn some new techniques, that we haven't seen before, through your tutorials.
Also, what I love about Distress Inks besides all their luscious colours is their versatility. You can use them on so many different techniques from Wrinkle Free Distress to Water Stamping to Double Distress and that is just a few!
So Roni, Congratulations again and I hope you have many more.
Best Wishes for the future,
Pamela
Happy 4th Anniversary, that is amazing!! What can I say, I just love everything about the blog but my favorite thing is the techniques that you share with us, they are inspiring. Thanks for all you do.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! My favorite part of Ink Stains is the list of reasons to celebrate at the start of each month, because it provides all sorts of reasons to make more cards and get inky with unique subjects that are a challenge to stamp!
ReplyDeletethe(underscore)fultons(at)earthlink(dot)net
Congrats on 4 years! I love when you post techniques because even if I've done that already you might be bringing a different twist that makes me say, "why didn't I think of that."
ReplyDeleteI love the techniques and tutorials! I've done a few tutorials on my blog, so I know how time-consuming they are - it is much appreciated and I always learn something!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a lot of goodies! I would have a hard time picking out one favorite thing about your blog. I guess one of the first things I would pick would be the ink blending tool. You got me hooked on it and I passed that on to my Mother. Next would be the swaps! Doesn't matter which one! I've had fun with each one I participated in. Ok, just one more thing - when you review a product, you tell us honestly, how it works. Just because it doesn't work in one situation, doesn't mean it won't be just what you want in another situation. Congratulations on the 4th birthday of your blog. Thank you for sharing so much fun with us!
ReplyDeleteHi Roni! My favorite part of Ink Stains is all the great techniques! Just like your book, lots of wonderful information and inspiration! I miss your ATC's - but love what you've done with Ink Stains! Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteRobyn Fergeson
You are such an inspiration that I have a journal of just your techniques. Sometimes I have "brain" freeze and need fresher ideas. Thank you for all that you do for us.
ReplyDeleteWell, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really love the techniques that you post, and the side by side demos of the results we would get using different products on different mediums and your personal comments about you and your family, makes me feel like we're having q conversation. :)
Best wishes for many many more years at showing us all the how to's.
Elizabeth
I have enjoyed your blog for a couple of years now, and I really like how you share tutorials and product comparisons with us. I'd love to see more of this in the future.
ReplyDeleteI luv that your blog has something for everyone; from us neophytes who are learning one the names and uses of the various mediums and then for the more adept you compare products and we are all inspired by the tremendous range of projects and eye candy. Thanks so very much.
ReplyDeleteHuge Congrats for your 4th birthday!!! I just love everything about your blog, but the techniques have to be my favorite! Wow... what a nice giveaway... thanks for the chance to win... I'll keep all my fingers and toes crossed that I'll be the lucky winner!

I have to say I love everything about your blog("you")! I wouldn't change a thing. Thank you for sharing all your creativity! Thanks for a chance at such an awsome giveaway! You rock!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 4 whole years! That takes a whole lot of dedication! Pretty hard to pick a favorite thing on here but I'd have to say the tutorials or techniques for sure! It's the only way to learn different things! That is one huge nifty gift package BTW!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday #4 Roni! Please don't include me in your uber generous giveaway as I won your last mega give and I feel so blessed. Thank you again. Hi Roni!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! My favorite part of your blog is your talent. I love how you show techniques and your work. You make some beautiful cards--but at the same time you make really cute cards that any level can make. Thank you--you were a guest designer for Lessology and I have participated in many of their challenges along with others. I attribute that all to you (because I didn't realize they were out there). Thank you! You have a positive influence on others and you rock!! :)
I just today stumbled across your blog from a link to a link to a link on Pinterest. From what I see I love it!

Thanks for taking the time.
Happy Birthday and many more.
Kristen

Hi Roni -
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your baby's birthday! 4 Years - WOW! I think I've been with you through 3 of those years and I am so happy I found you. I don't have a favorite part of your blog that I love the most. I love your entire blog. I think it is one of the best teaching and reference tools out on the web!
I love your sentiments and quotes. It is a big help when creating cards, or just looking for the perfect thing to put in a journal. The Blending tool, have to agree with you there. I love that thing, it makes blending so easy and effortless. I love your collage/mixed media art projects and your techniques.
There is always something for everybody on your blog. I can't even begin to image the work that you put into doing this. So from the bottom of my heart - THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! You are a generous soul, always willing to answer questions or demonstrate things for us. Happy Birthday Ink Stains!!
Elaine Allen
Happy Birthday! I love all your techniques you share. Thank you

Congratulations on your 4th birthday! I really enjoy reading about and learning new techniques. Thanks for your entertaining and enjoyable posts all the time. LeAnn
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th Birthday to your blog! I am new to your blog, via the Stampers Best blog. After looking through many of your older posts I found exactly what I like about your blog... I really love all the techniques and product details information that you provide. I am a visual learning and need to see things in use to get the whole purpose for them.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to enter your contest and now I am heading back to see more posts. Have a great week!
Happy Ink Stains birthday. It's cause for celebration. Since I'm a technique junkie, I would love to see some background techniques that are new (and dare I say it) not inspired by TH! products. I love your giveaways (of course, I've never won anything) and I know they often include TH! products, but what I really want to see are new experiments and altered art backgrounds.
ReplyDeleteAgain, happy birthday to your baby! And many, many more!
Happy Blog Birthday!! I love your blog! You have such great ideas and the fact that you share all your techniques is so wonderful for all of us that can't afford to take classes. I am a faithfull follower....and so can't wait to see what you have next for us!!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY, Ink Stains! Roni, I know you must be proud of "your baby". I have so enjoyed checking in to see what your imagination has come up with now. I would have to say that your techniques are what I love the most, after looking at them and reading your clear directions, I have the courage to try them myself. Thanks for keeping us busy and keep those wonderful ideas coming!
ReplyDeletePamela D.
Happy birthday! It may sound odd, but my favorite thing about Ink Stains is that you tell it like it is when it comes to products we use. A lot of bloggers/sites are always so relentlessly effusive in their praise of the next "great" product that everyone MUST have. Well, the truth is, a lot of us can't afford to buy every "great" new product. You aren't afraid to tell us the truth, that no, you don't NEED that product, most times we can make our own (I'm thinking specifically of the Smash books). So yeah, thank you for keeping it real.
ReplyDeleteCongrats...yay! 4 years of pure fun. I love all your work on the blog techniques, experiments, atc and cards all inspired me to work on my own creations. I love the part when you review a product and show how to use it in so many different ways. I have learn alot. Thanks for your time and keep up the very good work that you always do.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on four years, I can't imagine stamping before ink stains.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th Blog-o-sphere Birthday!
ReplyDeleteYour inspiration and generosity are regularly added to my gratitude list (which I try to compose weekly). I do so admire your willingness to share your technique experiments with your followers.
Congrats on 4 years! I love everything about ink stains, especially all the great techniques you share with us. Love a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteWell Roni, I can't believe it has been 4 years already! I think I've been around for at least three of them and I still love coming back. What I love the most is your charming way. You are a giving a sharing woman and I am thrilled by your creativity. Keep it up girl. You're the best!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 4th anniversary! You have a great blog! My favorites are your tutorials and techniques. Can’t wait to see what you will do next.
ReplyDeleteEmily
Roni, I first found your site when looking for info on alcohol inks...I thought "Ink Stains" meant alcohol ink stains, since mine hands were covered with them! Since then I have learned so much about all kinds of ink and just love to follow all of your tutorials. Your giveaways are great too...especially this one (several of the items are on my wish list!). Congrats on 4 great years...here's to many more!
ReplyDeleteHi Roni! Congratulations on 4 terrific years in blogland! I love everything about your blog, but if I have to choose, I think it would be all your inspirational tutorials. I love how easy they are to follow and your ideas are always fantastic.I hope there are many ,many more years of creative goodies to come! I know I will be right here following every word.
ReplyDeleteAll the best,

Happy 4th B-day to Ink Stains! If I had to pick what I love most about your site it would be all the techniques I have learned from you. I only found you a few months ago....and it didn't take me very long to feel the need to look at all your posts. I am hooked. P.S. I love how your photographs show such great details of your techniques.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th birthday Ink Stains! Congrats Roni! :)

My favorite thing of all time is all the techniques and experimenting you do (wish I had more time to do that very thing!). Would love to continue seeing more and more and more techniques!! Please and thank you!
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th birthday. My favorite thing about this site is your great tutorials and all the fun ways you show us to use the products we already have!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 4 wonderful years of sharing tips, techniques and talent!
ReplyDeleteWhat do I like best? After reading a lot of the comments here I kept thinking "Ditto, ditto, ditto!" If I have to pick only one, it's the product reviews that you do for us - putting everything through it's paces and then some, so we know exactly what to expect before we invest. Love those!
Here's to at least 4 more years of sharing your knowledge and inspiration with us!
Congrats on your blog b-day, & thank you for 4 years of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI love all the tutorials. Not only do you inspire us, you show us how to try it ourselves.
You do a great job with your blog. I love it! There is always something new to learn and you explain things so well. Congratulations on four years of bringing your talents to so many. You are a success!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday & Happy Holidays. Your blog probably trumps all others that I follow as far as inking techniques aside from you're everyday, stamp on stamp pad. Your tutorials are always so through. I have probably learned all my tricks here and have gotten so many great ideas, especially with alcohol ink. Thanks for all that you do!!
ReplyDeleteHey Ink Stains! That is an accomplishment in itself..... Kudos on your achievements & thanks a ton for the sweet gesture of spreading cheers in return.... :D I subscribe to you via mail as my blogger acts crazy not letting me follow more than 300.... The very first time I came here I knew I had to hook on to you for all those tips & techniques u share.... That in itself is something I am rewarded with every time I read your posts... & now this announcement of a give away so drool worthy makes life interesting with a new hope to look forward to....
ReplyDeleteI wish you all the love & may you grow leap & bounds.... I learn something new with every creation u post.... THANK YOU!
Happy Celebrations!!!

I love that you give me options! I don't always have to run out to buy new things to make your cool projects. Your ideas are "out of the box" and not what everyone else is doing. I'm a school teacher and love all your lessons! Thanks, Amy K.

Congrats on four years and counting!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about your blog is exactly what the name implies: You're not afraid to get messy in the name of art! Hee! There are so, so many pretty and tidy stamping blogs out there that all look exactly alike. It's nice to see a real crafter at work -- dirty stamps, dirty work surface, and ink-stained fingers! (Same reason I love to watch the man himself, Tim Holtz, in action! Messy is fun! ;)
Wow ! Congrats on 4 years ! I love you bling and all of your tutorials so thank you for all of thay, and what an amazing giveaway and I would love to win, thanks for the chance ! (:

ReplyDeleteHappy 4th Birthday Roni!! Your clog has been a real eye-opener for me. I found your blog in late 2008 and have been here ever since! The thing I love the most is that I can go back and see a card or technique or whatever whenever I want. The sidebar on the left with all of your past blogs is awesome. I loved doing project books, calendars and other awesome things. I've learned so much from you, I feel there is no way to thank you for all of it! BUT....here goes. THANK YOU RONI and I wish you the very best in all you do!
