This darling little cat was stamped on orange cardstock then embossed with black ep.

I then painted the pumpkin with Twinkling H2O's and used Sakura's white gel pen to color the kitty's "parts"  I don't remember what collection the papers are from.  I wish I did though cause I'd really love to find more of it...it's very me :)

Today I thought I'd have a little bit of witchy fun...

 

As they say...

If the hat fits....

 

 On a recent trip to Meijers ds and I were walking around an a guy was putting out boxes all around the seasonal area. I one box that was partially open with lots of fun paper mache' stuff so I started digging.  I'm glad I did because I found this wicked Witches Hat!!!  I've always wanted to alter one so I had to get it.  I found some cool skulls & blank tombstones too but that's another project.

 

 

 

I painted the hat black (of course) laced it with some black & grey mesh webbing.  I then stamped  a sheet of white cardstock with various Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells stamps then inked it all up with various yellow & orange shades of Distress Stain (I LOVE that stuff!).  I then made up several rosettes & 1/2 rosettes.  I stamped & die-cut the centers for a couple of the rosettes and glued them to the hat.  Added a bow and my little friend here Bob's your Uncle...

 

So, if the hat fits...wear it :)

The way cool thing about this stamp is there are "sections" to this pumpkin that you can cut apart and mount at various heights to get a really dimensional image!

I ask you again, who says bats hang upside down?

Not my bat...

with the help of a vintage wood coat hanger he's hanging right side up

AND

he's bringing you a little Halloween greeting to boot!

 

Today's project is my contribution to Leigh's Domino Art blog which is also participating in the 31 Days of Halloween hop this month.

 

This critter is about 21" across and from the tip of the hanger to the bottom of the dominoes is about 18".    The bat is a digi stamp from Smeared Ink's A Little Bit Batty - Bat 3 supersized.  I actually printed both wings on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper then printed the body twice on a second sheet of cardstock.

 

The bat was colored with Distress Inks and has Sakura black gel pen work here and there.  I cut out each wing and fit it to a vintage wood coat hanger (you know the one that's just a single curved piece of wood...no braces or anything).  I then cut out both bodies, the first body was test fit to the back of the hanger and I cut the lower portion of the 2nd body off and test fit him on top of the hanger.  My goal was to make it look like there are many layers to the bat.

 

Next I went to work on the dominoes and wood letters.  The wood game pieces already had the letters embossed on them so I just dyed them with Distress Stain.  The dominos were colored with Alcohol Inks then stamped with letters (MSE), spiders and bats (Graphic 45).  I affixed a length of bullion wire (it's wicked cool crinkly wire) which was then wired to the hanger. (NOTE: I had previously figured out spacing and notched the wood hanger for each game piece.)

 

Once the letters were all in place I glued the lower portion of the body to the back of the hanger.  I then affixed the wings to each side of the hanger - this covered up all the wires and finally I used double stick foam tape to pop the upper portion of the body over the wings.  He's very dimensional in person.

I KNEW exactly how I wanted it to look and it actually turned out that way.

Today I thought I'd go retro! 

I'm probably going to show my age here but

I thought these little goodies are the perfect fit....

 

 

Halloween Pipe Cleaner Characters!

 

I knew when I got this set of stamps from Artistic Outpost's Halloween Treats that they would be perfect to make these little cuties but I never actually got around to making them.  Well I figured no better time than the present.

 

Each character was stamped on white cardstock then colored with spectrum noir markers and have stickles glitter glue and Sakura's black raised gel pen work.  All of the little bodies are pipe cleaners...nothing more!

 

These are lots of fun to make and oh so easy! 

(Not to mention cheaper than spending $3.00-5.00 a piece on them!!!)

Yes, I'm cheap ;)

 

Anyway, we're at the half way point....

You say I'm a Witch Like it's a Bad Thing????

 

Today I wanted to play with my Distress Paints and a giant puzzle piece and this is the result!!  The puzzle piece had a glossy finish so I just painted right over the top.  I just added color here and there then spritzed with LOTS of water.  I held the puzzle piece and tilted it this way and that letting the paints mix and glide over the surface ~ at the same time I was drying it with my heat tool.  It turned out pretty cool I think.  I then stamped it with lots of different stamps as you can see.

Charm Swappers -

I believe I have rec'd all of the charms I am going to.  A couple people had to drop out due to illness and I haven't heard back from my e-mail to one last person so I am just went ahead and swapped it all out. 

Since it's Columbus Day no mail will go today but all of the packages will be dropped into the mail tomorrow!  I hope you all enjoy the wonderful charms and wear them with pride!  I know I sure will.

I have taken photos but will wait to post them until November so everyone (out of USA folks too) will have their charms and it won't spoil anyone's surprise.  :)

I have a few fun little wood boxes that held Prima wood embellishments that I KNEW would come in handy for something...  ended up it was perfect for today's project.

 

I don't know what made me think of this but the boys used to walk around saying this with a Brooklyn accent...  I thought it would be fun to turn it around and put a Halloween spin on it!

 

Gives, "You want a Piece a me?" a WHOLE new meaning huh?

Today's project is a chunky ATC...

These are so much fun because they are excellent for display.

 

What's Halloween without an owl or two?

Well I've got this awesome owl from Crafty Individuals ~ Air Mail Owl CI-225 on the front side of my ATC.  I stamped it once on the cardstock and stamped it a second time to pop it off the ATC.  I thought it would be fun to add a bit of depth so I cut out the face and snipped off the tail of the 2nd owl so once it was adhered to the original image with a pop dot the tail looks like it's behind the branch and the face is set in a bit.

 

 

You can sort of see the second owl popped off the original image at this angle.

You can also see the washi tape and stickles I added around the edge.

 

 

And here's the back of the ATC.

The toxic tonic & skull are bits of a paper napkin that I decoupaged onto the ATC.

The red stamp images are all Crafty Individuals from the CI-360 Poison & Danger Bottle Set.

 

 

It's now residing in my living room with my Poe shadow box...
