On the farm....

Several people have asked about what's been going on at the farm lately so I thought I'd share some pics....

The guys have been making lots and lots of hay.
It's second and third cutting ~ looking and smelling great!
Eric coming home with a load of hay...

And the wheat has been harvested
and here are the guys baling the straw...

And my donkey friends watchin...

Hope you have a wonderful day!

  3. Roni, thank you so much for sharing the beautiful insight into your everyday world! The closest I ever had the priviledge of viewing farm life was when I was a child and we took 4th of July mini vacations to Pennsylvania to visit my Great Grandmother. Her property was situated next to dairy farms and I just adored the sight and wonderful smells that come from wide open spaces.
You are so blessed to live in such a beautiful part of our country. If possible, could we also see photos of your property during the Fall? I would imagine that the view of the surrounding foliage must be breath taking.
Also, I can see that the work ethic that you share with us everyday extends to the rest of your family members. I am so grateful to all of the farmers in our country. I know that it is so easy to forget the extent of the labor that went into the loaf of bread that we reach for off of the shelf at our local markets. Our Nation's farms have faced so many hardships throughout our history. It seems as though you are always under attack either by Mother Nature or the federal government. Roni, please know that my deepest thanks goes to you and your family for the hard work, which I know is part of your everyday life, that you do in order to help sustain our Nation!
    With love,
    Kathy

  4. What a treat to get a peek into your "other life" Roni! I always imagine you sitting in some artsy studio way out in the middle of a romantic city (like Paris..lol!). Always makes me smile to see all the critters and farm living that surrounds you.

The Donkeys are gorgeous - we used to visit the Donkey Sanctuary on the IOW often - I love them. They always look so sad here in Greece :-(

  7. What a beautiful 'world' you live in. Hard work too I can imagine - but on a day like the day you took the photos - it's everyones idea of a dream location and idyll.
