You all know how much I love this time of year - of course there is the crisp cool temps, the beautiful fall colors and who could forget Halloween. There is another reason I love this time of year though...it's time for another Scrapbook Mystery from Laura Childs!!
She hasn't disappointed - the newest book - Gossamer Ghost is even better than the last. Carmella and the gang are back at it - jumping in hip deep into a mystery and helping her bo figure out who done it! You won't want to miss out because this book is set during the Halloween season - fun fun fun! Reading about all of the holiday parties, the spooky goings on in the Big Easy and who could forget the fun scrapbook and altered projects!
Once you start reading you won't want to put it down. Trust me...I read it in record time.
I am fortunate enough to be able to offer up two signed copies of her book - simply leave a comment telling me your favorite part of Halloween and you'll be entered to win! You have until 10-27 to leave a comment to be entered.
Good Luck and Happy Haunting!!!
Fave Part of Halloween is shelling out candy and fixing up the house to look scary also mailing out a few halloween cards to my neices and dressing up Still and going out after :) thank you for the chance
ReplyDeleteI still enjoy dressing up and handing out candy. I would have to say now my favorite part is dressing up my dogs. The children get a kick out of seeing them in costume and the one dog thinks he is hot stuff. He actually growls at me when I go take the costume off at the end of the night. Alas I don't have as many children come around now.
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds awesome! I have always loved Halloween, since it was a really big deal when I was young. My Mom was big on Halloween, decorating the front porch and house like crazy and coming up with awesome costumes for me and my sister and herself. Even my dad got into it along with my Mom, enjoying dressing up and going out to show off their costumes!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite part of Halloween is making cards for the occasion! I love all the black cat images!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea there was a scrapbooking mystery series! The cover looks really fun.
ReplyDeleteI love to make Halloween tags to display on the cabinet above my desk at work. I have one there now with a black cat wearing a crown, collar and mask and holding a fan - all glittered with shades of lime green, orange and purple. The sky is the limit when it comes to fun Halloween images!
My favorite part of Halloween was all the children coming to the door for their treats but since moving out in the country and away from city life we no longer have the children coming to our door but do enjoy preparing for Halloween just the same.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this giveaway opportunity
My favorite part of Halloween, was being spooky for the kiddos that were out trick or treating, from the eerie music playing, and the hallway cob webs to dressing up as a witch to give out treats; I loved every minute of it. Thanks for the opportunity to win Laura Child's latest. Elizaberth
ReplyDeleteThe colors. The kids in costume all excited and full of smiles. The music. Mannheim Steamroller has two really fun Halloween CD's. thanks as always for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi there, I have just found out there are scrapbooking mystery books, would love to win one! thanks for the opportunity!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been reading Laura Child's Tea Shop Mysteries so I know I would like one that focuses on scrapbooking.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of Halloween is seeing the happy smiles on the kids' faces when they get a treat. At one time, kids in the neighborhood were disrespectful, grabbing candy and leaving without a word. I quit handing out candy for several years, but the neighborhood changed, and so did the attitude of the new kids. Now it's fun again.
Thanks for the chance to win this book.
Hi Roni, we don't really do Halloween here in Aussieland but my best part would have to be the dressing up !!! I do have a bit of a rep for dressing up ... hee hee.
ReplyDeleteI would also love the look on the kids faces when giving out lollies to them.
Cheers for now Sandie :)
I didn't know about this series! I will be checking it out.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part is all the decorating everyone does. You can see it when you're driving, while eating out and even shopping. It's awesome.
I also did not know about this series---and I was looking for a good book/series to read!!!!! Love Halloween---decorating, making decorations with my daughter, the dressing up part, and seeing all the kids having such a great time Trick or Treating---love it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of Halloween is making my daughter's costume. I always look forward to walking with her on Halloween night to our friend's homes trick-or-treating, and hearing her tell them she helped make her costume! So original!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of Halloween is watching the little ones eyes as I let them take handfuls of candy from the candy bowl, and watching them run off to their parents laughing! Lissag123@verizon.net
ReplyDeleteWoow, so many comments, Makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteHelena
My favorite parts of Halloween are riding around looking at all the decorations making fun ones for our home and cards and altered things enjoying costumes and all such a fun beautiful time of year!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to read one of Laura's books...however my reading in the past years, having a wee one, has pretty much been limited to Pete the cat and giving a Moose a muffin. I always thought it would be fun to do a LO while reading.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read her books. I love the creepy side of Halloween - skeletons are my favorite, and I love some of the things I've seen on the internet! Since my birthday is the day after the drawing ends, I'm sure to win a copy of her fun sounding book! ;) Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteMaking fall crafts, I love the colors
ReplyDeleteI love the decorations!
ReplyDeleteHi Roni, thanks for the giveaway. The book sounds very appealing. I guess my favorite part of Halloween would have to be the costumes, seeing what all people come up with. The baby costumes have become quite inventive. I've never read a scrapbooking novel, but you have made it sound like I want to! xoxo, Aimeslee

ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of Halloween is watching old, scarey movies at night under a plush throw on my couch!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of Halloween is the excitement of the kids donning their costumes and running from door to door to gather as many sweet treats as they can! Just like I did- a long time ago! heehee!
ReplyDeleteThanks Roni!
Since Halloween is my birthday, I have always loved every aspect of Halloween: carving pumpkins, costumes, candy corn, trick or treating with little ones and lots of chocolate candy! Thanks for a chance to win a signed copy of her book.
ReplyDeleteAloha, Kate
I love decorating for Halloween..... scary scary !
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part is the kids coming to the door for treats. We live right on Main Street in our little town, so we get quite a few. My favorite treat is candy corn. I try to stock up before it's all gone!
ReplyDeleteDecorating my table with white pumpkins, orange mums, black cats, real acorns and a few spooks is a fun part of Halloween, and having scary/spooky music playing when the kids come to the door for candy. Plus my memories of my Mother handing out popcorn balls and apples for Tricks and treats, so many years ago, make my Halloweens special today remembering .
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of Halloween is decorating . . . and caramel apples.
ReplyDeleteHi Roni, I love books. Have been known to scrap as well LOL. My favourite part of Halloween is my party. I have grown an 18kg pumpkin to be star of the show this year. It's my thanksgiving harvest party. I invite family and friend to come and eat good food and celebrate another good year. Hugz
ReplyDeleteThanks for the introduction to this great looking book, author and series! I do love to scapbook Haloween...photos of the kids dressed up, in front of decorated houses, with their candy"haul", picking out pumpkins at the Patch, carving the pumpkin, the orange glow of the lit Jack 'O Lantern....there are just so many fun photo ops!
ReplyDeleteHere over in the Netherlands Halloween isn't that popular as in some other countries. Although it's getting better and I try to get everyone I know to enjoy Halloween as I do for I LOVE that holiday so much! I'm such a fan of everything creepy and fun Halloween crafts, I give most of them away to my "victims" hoping they will get into the spirit and maybe Halloween will get bigger and bigger over here ;-) I would LOVE to get my hands on one of those books, for some really cool projects, making (hopefully) more fans of Halloween over here :D Thank you so much for AGAIN your generosity and giving away all those cool gifts (and of course your knowledge for I learned so much from you! ) Take care!
ReplyDeleteWhat a generous give-a-way! My favorite part of halloween are the bats. I just love them! They lived under our roof this summer !
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of Halloween is seeing all the little kids customs when they go out trick or treating. On another note. I have been reading this series by Laura Childs since it came out(along with her tea shop series). I love the series, though I do have some books in the series to catch up on. thanks for the chance to win
ReplyDeleteCandy Corn is my most favorite part of Halloween. You were the one that got me started on Laura Childs' books. I love them all & can't wait to read the newest one. Back in 2002 my husband & I owned a scrapbook store, but we never had that much excitement. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love these books. Plus she includes good scrapbook ideas and some wonderful Mew Orleans style recipes.
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds fantastic!
ReplyDeleteAs an adult, I LOVE Halloween. I was never allowed to go trick or treating or dress up when I was a kid, simply because of the religion my Dad choose. Now that I'm an adult, Halloween is my favorite holiday.
ReplyDeleteThese days it is seeing my grandchildren and the neighborhood children all dressed up and trick-or-treating.
ReplyDeleteOf course I used to love getting costumed up and running around with friends, then we grew to the age where we could do road rally scavenger hunts, in cars. Then there wwere abr parties. Now it is more about watching the kids get dressed up, have fun, maybe watching a movie marathon.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part is decorating the house and yard, the creepier the better! I have a rescue litter of 5 black cats and they love to help :)
