Get Inked - March 2012 - Flowers!

Today I wanted to give you a peek at this months Get Inked stamps....Flowers.

I don't know about the weather where you live but I tell you it's been warm here in NE Indiana...VERY warm...  Like in the 80's for the last few days and then the 70's prior to that.  They say it's about 35-40 degrees above average.  Needless to say the plants, trees, grass, etc has gone nuts.  We have flowers blooming that normally don't bloom until May, dh is going to mow the yard tonite and our bushes actually have leaves already!

I don't know if it's going to last or not but I'm not complaining...  It only worries me what summer might be like if it's this warm this early.

Which leads me to this months stamps - more fun flowers....  Here are the cards I made using this months kit.  There is one additional image that's not shown and it's a poppy.

This months kit extras are Dusty Concord Distress Stain and Rose Quartz Embossing Antiquities EP.

If you'd like to order a March Get Inked kit you can e-mail Vicki @ - info@katsmagicalpatches.com

In addition to the above goodies and stamps you'll also receive instructions on how to create the following cards and 8 different ways to incorporate the Distress Stains into your art. I know there are loads more than 8 but hey, you gotta draw a line somewhere or I'd be writing another book ;) LOL!!

Would you like to win a set of these Flower Stamps?
To enter into the drawing, post a comment telling us your favorite flower species ~ for growing, receiving, or just because you like the looks of them.....

Mine used to be Iris but in the last several years I've been leaning towards day lilies. But then again, I love how lilacs smell in the spring time and how beautiful mums are in the fall... I guess it's pretty hard to pick just one so you can post as many as you'd like :)

You have until 3-31-12 to post a comment to be entered to win!

Good Luck Everyone
and
Remember to take time to smell the flowers!

  2. Hi Roni,
I have many favorites. Hollyhocks are defintiely in my top five! Others are day lilies (have in my yard), lilacs (have in my yard), daisies and sunflowers.

The wind is terrible here today - very cold. It's supposed to be nice by the weekend!

My lilacs have buds on them already....

Thanks for the chance to win the stamp set!

    Hugs,
    Kay

  5. Oh, I just love all the flowers! I love the crocus because they are first to pop out and I love daisies because they grow everywhere and I like all flowers in between! LOL! It's crazy warm here in NH too! Almost all the snow and mud is gone already! I love it but do worry about water this summer if this keeps up.

  8. I love Star Gazer Lillies-my sister and I both had then in our wedding bouquets. They are gorgeus with their hot pink centers! I,also, love the orangey red of poppies. Their petals look oddly waxy but the color is fabulous!

  9. Hi Roni!

Love your cards! My favorite flowers are tulips. But I live in Florida so they aren't as abundant here as they are as you go North.

My 2nd favorite are petunias. We just planted some purple ones with a white border on the flower-they are called Jazz patunias (that's what it said on the container!)

It's warm here too and I am a bit concerned about the summer time weather. Have a great one! :)

  10. Wow...absolutely breathtaking cards! I always love your work!

My favorite cut flowers are sterling roses. They're a super light lavender...almost silver, and although there are lots of purple roses around, true sterling roses have the most awesome smell of any rose ever!!

  11. Our normally mild Pacific northwest is still in winter! I love irises & carnations but really there aren't any that I don't like - even stub-stemmed dandelions picked by my grandson!

    Your cards are beautiful!

  12. I like what "Vic" said, "even stub-stemmed dandelions picked by my grandson". Even dandelions become beautiful then. One of my favorites is Lily of the Valley. May is my birth month, so those flowers are special to me.

  14. I don't think I have ever met a flower I didn't like! That said, I do love lilies! I think there is just something magical about their shape, and their heavy aroma reminds me of playing in my yard as a kid on a hot summer day! Your stamps are beautiful!

  15. My favorite flower/floral is Lavender...I had several bushes when we lived in Indiana, just outside the front door, and the wonderful scent would drift into the house. Now that we have come back Chicago way, I can't seem to get it to grow again...so sad!

  16. I think I could come up with a new answer every day to this question. But not long ago I was walking around a pubic garden, when it was still chilly, and saw some camellias. They were stunning! Currently I am enamored of them, in all their variety.

  19. Gosh, it's hard to choose a favorite, but I think it would have to be lilacs for their intoxicating scent! But then again, that's the reason I love iris so much as well; that and their overwhelming beauty!! Of course there is peonies and hydrangeas, and buttercups.....ahhhhh, just too too many to choose a favorite! :)

  20. I love the smell of lilacs, the yellow in sunflowers, the color and smell of star-gazer lillies, and the colors and delicate look of hollyhocks. But also like to see the trillium in the spring, and bleeding hearts, and - OH! Just one? Sorry - too hard to choose. These stamps are beautiful.
