Today I'll be using three types of Stickles - original Stickles that most of us are familiar with, Ice Stickles and Tim Holtz Distress Stickles. You will be able to see the difference between the various types of Stickles very easily.
The original type of Stickles has a fine grain glitter in a colored glue. It comes in 35 varied and intense colors ~ some of my favorites being Lime, Cinnamon and Black Diamond.
Ice Stickles has larger particles of glitter termed "Aurora Borealis highlights"...to me they have an iridescent color changing look to them. This type of Stickles comes in only 12 shades, all of which are transparent and offer a slight color to your finished project.
Tim Holtz Distress Stickles are part of the Designer Series of Stickles Glitter Glue and are vastly different from the first two types of Stickles. The particles of glitter in this type of Stickles is much larger than any of the other glitters offered in the Stickles line plus it has a unique mica quality about it (and you all know how much I LOVE mica!!!). It is currently offered in 29 colors but I'm sure there are more to come in the future!

Stickles Glitter Glue
Supplies:
Cardstock (white or colored)
Stickles, Ice Stickles and Distress Stickles
Distress Ink
Ink Blending Tool & Foam
Archival Inks
Heat It Craft Tool
Rubber Stamps - By the Sea - Sugar Lumps Studios
Embellishments
Instructions:
1. Since I usually start with white cardstock I like to use Distress Inks and my Ink Blending Tool to add my initial layer of color. You of course could use colored cardstock or even pattern paper if desired.
2. Stamp desired images using Archival Ink as the Stickles tends to make dye inks bleed while drying. This is a cool effect at times but not what I'm going for on this project. I am using stamps from the "By the Sea" set from Sugar Lumps Studios.
3. Begin adding Stickles to the various images. The sand dollars are being outlined by one of my favorite colors of original Stickles - Cinnamon. It is perfect for ocean related projects ~ it makes an awesome glittery sand!
4. A technique that I love to use to apply Stickles is to paint it on with a paintbrush. Simply squirt a bit of Stickles (Distress Stickles in this case) on to your project or Non-Stick Craft Mat and apply as you would paint.
You will also notice the other varieties of Stickles which have already been applied - Distress Stickles - all over background & large fish; Ice Stickles - two star fish; Original Stickles - small fish & sand dollars.
5. After all Stickles have been applied you may let them dry naturally or speed drying using the Heat It Craft Tool.
Notice the difference of the various types of Stickles when dry....
6. Embellish and mount on the CD.
Mmmmm, don't you just love that glitter!!!
I think many people are afraid of using glitter for all the mess and clean up issues but Stickles makes adding glitter to any project VERY easy, fun and no stray glitter on your cat, clothes, hair, etc.. ;) LOL!!
What isn't there to love about this product?
Well, I hope you give at least one type of Stickles a try!
Tomorrow I'll be back with July and another fun Ranger product!
Fabulous tutorial! I love Stickles, but often get in a rut with them... this is a great way to use them!
