No, I'm not in Kansas but the cards I have to share with you today were made using the brand new stamp set from Rubber Stamp Tapestry - the folks that bring you peg stamps - Greetings from Kansas! As a matter of fact, they have loads of wicked cool new sets out this week....Itty Bitty Punkin' Patch; Autumn Elegance; and Desert Cactus just to name a few.
One of the things I love about peg stamps is how versatile they are and I hope that my cards today will show you just how versatile they really are.
Greetings from Kansas
Of course I wanted to start off with traditional sunflowers since that's what this set is all about. It comes with 4 stamps - 3 sunflowers in various sizes as well as a leaf set. The leaves are spaced apart a bit which allows for you to tuck the leaves beside the flowers or with just enough space to draw a little stem in between the leaves like I did here.
Next I wanted to a bit of a fall thing playing with Cantaloupe, Rhubarb Stock and Potter's Clay Memento Dye Inks.
Finally I did a bit of masking and coloring. In the "olden days" all sunflowers looked pretty much alike - yellow and brown but today there is a whole host of fun varieties and this is one of my favorites - Ring of Fire - a deep red center which continues out on the leaves that fades out into an orange then yellow on the tips.
So you see even though they are the simple sunflower...there are so many fun ways with which to use them. I have only just skimmed the surface. I can't wait to continue to experiment with this stamp set. I can see lots of fun in the near future!
Be sure to check back in the coming days for more cards made using some of the other newly released stamps at Rubber Stamp Tapestry!!
