Happy Frank-O-Ween!

Frank is here to wish you a Happy Frank - O - Ween!

The background is a lovely pigment powder full of lovely shimmer from Lindy's Stamp Gang which was sprinkled over the very cool  Trees background stamp from Lost Coast Designs.

He's a cutie isn't he? He's one of Lost Coast Designs funky Halloween dudes. I just love him. I printed out the sentiment on cardstock and matted both the image and sentiment with Marigold/ Marigold Starstruck Foiled Papers from Rinea.

Hope you're having a spooky week...only 2 more days!!

Creepy Caravan Blog Hop

Hello Friends!

Today I have a special Halloween creation for you that I made for the
Creepy Caravan Blog Hop!

My drawer full of the macabre!

People often think I'm nuts when I buy random stuff.
This was one of those purchases - a rusty old metal drawer.
It had so much character I couldn't resist.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that and it turned into the perfect Halloween piece.

I wanted the top section of the drawer to be like a rusty night sky so I started off by die-cutting lots of stars from Silver/Glossy Gold and Silver Starstruck Rinea Foiled Paper and attached them to the back, top and sides of this section. I tore up bits of a really cool looking mulberry type paper to make the clouds.  The last couple pieces I added were an owl that I made using a mould from Retro Cafe Art and a moon (not sure who made the mould) and Amazing Casting Resin (white) (all of the resin pieces were painted using DecoArts acrylic paint). I finished the owl off with a bit of Fab Fuchsia Metallic Lustre and the moon with Lavish Green Metallic Lustre.

The next section of the drawer was filled with a fun and creepy collage image from Gecko Galz and a vintage looking bottle label. This also contains a plastic skeleton from the Dollar General a resin hand and skull (both moulds from Retro Cafe Art) which were all rubbed with DecoArt Silver Spark Metallic Lustre.  I added some putka pods and a pumpkin embellishment that's been in my stash a few years now.

This section contains another label and collage image from Gecko Galz, a resin tree (mould from Retro Cafe Art), more putka pods and another pumpkin. I used the putka pods and pumpkins to tie it all together.

The final drawer section has a few frozen charlotte dolls made using one of my favorite molds from Articus Studio (link below), Amazing Casting Resin and the Silver Spark Metallic Lustre.  I also made another skeletal hand and skull (both moulds from Retro Cafe Art).

Hope you've enjoyed my Creepy Creation...

Take your pet....

Ha...a fun new twist on Take Your Pet to Work Day....

I had such fun making this card - Lost Coast Designs is running 2 challenges at the moment...31 Days of Halloween plus a Pets Challenge so I thought this would be perfect!

I started off by stamping the witch & kitty. I then placed a circle mask over the witch; spritzed with water then sprinkled on a pigment powder from Lindy's Stamp Gang (it's got some lovely sparkle to it). I swished the color around a bit then removed the mask.  After it was dry I colored in the witch and gave the kitty some whiskers then added the sentiment.

As it happens in addition to this double challenge it is also time for
I would like to enter this card into her challenge :)

Fall Fabric Wall Art

Happy Day Friends!

I want to share my Autumn Wall Art piece that I made recently using this fun pickup truck image from Unity Stamp Co and Imagine inks!

I wanted a new piece to hang up by my front door so I pulled out a bit of linen fabric, some walnut ink, Memento Luxe inks and All Purpose Inks to create this fun embroidery hoop art!

Don't ya just love this pickup truck from Unity Stamp Co?
I love the look!

This sentiment is from another Unity Set, I thought it was nice to greet guests.
The leaves are from a Joy Clair Set and they are stamped using additional colors of the Memento Luxe inks which are perfect for fabric creations.

I think this will be a very nice and welcoming sign don't you?

31 Days of Halloween - #1 Frank'oween

For the first day of October I want to share this card I made using one of the newest Halloween stamps from Unity Stamp Co and the artist Tierra Jackson - Frank

Isn't he just so stinkin' cute!
I love him...

He was stamped using Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink from Imagine and then I colored him with colored pencils...I can't remember which brand for sure but I think it was my Mitsubishi Pencils. (more about those another day!!).

InkTober 2019 - #1 - Ring

The prompt for today is:

RING

I went with an old timey candlestick phone...when you picked up the receiver and said
"Sarah get me Mable please". These were way before my time but as a child I always thought these looked like such fun.

Now it's your turn...what does "RING" bring to mind for you?

Happy October 1st!

If you've visited here for a while you all know how much I love fall, especially Halloween. Well today is October 1st...the start of lots of fun challenges, two of which I enjoy participating in if I have time.

The first is 31 Days of Halloween!!  Ahhh yes, could it get any better? Probably not but  I didn't have time to work ahead so I'm pretty sure I won't be able to hit every day but I'm going to post as much as possible.  Lost Coast Design Team is also participating in this challenge so if you'd like to follow along there to see what everyone created you're more than welcome :)

The second is a challenge which I started participating in 2 years ago. InkTober... a challenge to draw something every single day of October in ink. The first year I dabbled here and there, last year I made a drawing every single day of the month and really enjoyed it and this year I am planning on drawing every day as well.

Honest Review here....(I bought this out of my own pocket...nobody paid me to do this).

Art Snacks puts out a special "InkTober" limited edition collection which I hadn't purchased in the past. I did order it this year though and I'm on the fence about it. You know I'm pretty frugal (a.k.a. - Cheap!) which is why I'm not sure it's such a great deal. They say it's over $100.00 worth of products and a 25.00 class from Jake Parker - 125.00 total - for 79.00 + 8.20 shipping (87.20).

You know me - I went through and calculated it up and took the median cost of the items if purchased individually (mostly from DickBlick, Jerry's or WalMart - didn't even look at Amazon) and it came up to $60.00 + the 25.00 for the class so a total of $85.00...$40.00 short of the 100.00 mark. That's not too bad until you consider they are buying it wholesale so they probably paid about 30.00 for the product plus the class so about 55.00 total...hmmmm.

For me I'm not sure it was worth it because I have all of the pen/ink items they sent - I didn't have the markers but I don't use markers much so the jury is out on those. The paper and sketchbook are nice - actually really nice - so much so that I'm afraid to use them. I'm afraid I'm going to mess them up so I am going to continue to draw in the sketchbook I bought last year - LOL!!

Below are photos of what was included...

List of Prompts plus a note from Jake Parker (the guy who started InkTober).

KingArt Dual Tip Brush Pens
Plumchester 8x8 sketch book

Arnhem Paper
White Gelly Roll Pens, Copic Pen, Speedball Dip Pen & Ink
and an InkTober Sticker which is cool.

So there you go...you can judge for yourself.

I'll be back later today with an InkTober post as well as
a card for the 31 Days of Halloween :)  See you then!
