Delft Club Scrap Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's Club Scrap Blog Hop featuring the lovely Delft Kit!  If you're following along with the hop you should have arrived by way of Trica - The Efficient Crafter and her beautiful creation.

This month I have a fun mixed media project to share which combines this kit with a bit of ink, gesso, Shimmer Pico Embellisher and sand.  Yes I said sand...

Since the blue from the kit matched the blue from Bob & Morgan's wedding so well I wanted to make a frame to hold our family photo. I wish you could touch this frame as it has so much texture, depth and dimension created by the "faux" tiles.  The photo above shows how sparklie the Shimmer Pico Embellisher made the tiles.

And these two photos show just a bit of the dimension.
It really is fun to not only look at but touch as well.

Here's how I did it....

One of the prints has this lovely dark blue broken tiles that I trimmed and inked the edges of each piece using Club Scrap Sapphire ink.

I used a plain wood frame - the top half was covered with a light blue cracked tile print; the bottom portion was covered with a mixture of gesso and sand to create a faux grout look - perfect for our faux tiles!

Once everything had dried I inked the inside and outside edges with the Sapphire Ink.

Next I began gluing the tiles down using book binding glue. It dries quickly which is very handy for this project.

Finally once all the tiles were in place I covered each with a layer of Shimmer irRESISTible Pico Embellisher to give it shine and dimension.

Have a creative day friends!

Delft Clipboard Collage

Today I wanted to share another clipboard collage with you...this month using the Club Scrap Delft kit!  I LOVE this kit...it's full of blues and you all know how much I love blue :)

I am making these each month to add a fresh new welcome sign by our front door...it helps to keep things cheery....specially while I wait on spring and nice weather to arrive. I've had it with dreary, rainy cloudy days. I may have to keep this one up a bit longer just because of the colors - lol!

The upper portion is an assemble of various prints and digi elements with a few embellishments thrown in for good measure. I wish I knew where I got those acrylic flowers - the are the last of their kind in my stash and I do love them so.

The bottom portion has a bit more bling....
cause you know you can never have too much of it.

I also made a few faux tiles with a little help from my
Clear irRESISTible Pico Embellisher.

Hope you all have a great day...
Happy Spring Friends!

You can't really tell by the pic but the framed "Hello" is popped off the card with foam tape.

A Digital Touch

Did you know that Club Scrap offered hybrid digital kits to supplement their regular monthly kits?  Well they do and this month the Club Scrap Artist Team Challenge was to use some of these digital elements on a project for March.

You all know how digitally challenged I am....even I was able to use them without any trouble.  Why?  Because you don't actually have to make a digital layout to use these kits.  You can copy, paste and resize to your needs (I do this in MSword) then print them out to incorporate into your paper projects!  How cool is that??

And this is what I made! I am so tickled with how it turned out...the guys wore beautiful blue vests and ties at the wedding which matched this month's kit perfectly.

I printed out a couple different styles of border strips along with an enlarged sentiment that fit the photos perfectly.  These guys were joking around the whole day so it made for some fun and goofy pics.

Happy Spring!

I hope you all are enjoying the first day of Spring (for those of you living in the northern hemisphere).  I think I have finally turned the corner on this darn flu!!  I feel pretty good and I'm not even doped up on meds so I take that as a good sign. I finally got to do some dishes and laundry so I feel better about that and I've opened up the house to get rid of all the stale "sick" air and maybe at least some of the smell of Vicks ;)  LOL!!

Today I have a little card I made for St. Pat's but it certainly helps welcome in Spring as well....

This was an experimental card and I am so thrilled with how it turned out.  I applied a layer of Gold Creative Medium over the celtic knot stencil (Club Scrap).  I sprinkled gold and verdigris embossing powders over the wet CM and then began to melt the powders with a heat tool.  I wish you could feel it, it has got an amazing texture and dimension.  Just think of all the fun combinations you could create by varying the colors of Creative Medium and embossing powders.  When I feel a bit better I'm going to do some more experimenting but for now...hope you all have a wonderful day!

So Sick

Hi All...I'm still here - just very sick right now.  Dh and I went to an auction last weekend (found lots of great stuff) but unfortunately someone must have had a really nasty bug. I started feeling unwell on Tuesday and we've both been really sick since Wednesday.  I am SOOOOOOOO ready to be over this. :(  I promise to get back at it as soon as I feel better...right now it's all I can do to apply mounting adhesive on the back of some new stamps.

Greenery!

Greenery is the color of the month at Imagine!

I don't think I have to tell you how much I love green... it's my 2nd favorite color right behind blue.  I was so excited when I found out this was going to be the color we got to play with this month as Imagine has soooooo many cool green products to offer.

Love Grows Here by Roni Johnson

When you hear the word greenery, what comes to mind? The smell of freshly mown grass, the refreshing rain storm and an oasis filled with plants, flowers, and succulents? This was my inspiration for March and how I imagined my greenery card. The succulents were both stamped using the Fresh Greens Kaleidacolor which was misted with Sheer Shimmer Spritz prior to stamping on white cardstock and trimmed. The background was made by stamping the succulent using New Sprout Memento Dye Ink. The panel was then spritzed with New Sprout Fireworks! Spray.
