Autumn Altered Clipboard

Hey Everyone!

Chapter 3 is now finished!! I'm so excited...I have one more chapter to go before my first deadline. I think I'm going to make it just fine. Then I get to play (aka - make the projects I wrote about- LOL!!)!!

I know I've been lax on posting new projects and all lately ~ way too many irons in the fire I guess....between this, the book, rounding up supplies for the book, finishing up hosting a few swaps, my guys, the farm, housework, ick...time is just so short! Pretty soon the holidays are going to be thrown into the mix. Scares me!! Anyway, sorry about that ~ I'm going to try to do better.

Soon I will have pics of the Fat Book Swap that just finished up in October. 100 pages total (per person) - 1,000 pages in all! It was so worth the time and effort, I hope everyone who participated feels the same :)

On to the project I wanted to share with you ~ it's an altered clipboard dedicated to Autumn! It's covered in Ranger products and was at Ranger's booth this past summer at CHA.

Instructions:
Clipboard -

1. Paint roughly the upper right hand quarter of the clipboard with gesso. Let dry.
2. Paint the rest of the clipboard (front & back) using the Copper Adirondack Metallic Acrylic Dabber. Let dry.
3. Paint the left half & bottom edges of the clipboard with Walnut Stain Distress Crackle Paint. Let dry & crackle.
4. Once the clipboard has dried, apply Spiced Marmalade & Scattered Straw Distress Inks to the gesso using the Blending Tool & Foam.
6. Shake Walnut Stain Distress Embossing Powder to ensure embossing powder & release crystals are well mixed. Sprinkle Distress EP over the Distress Inks. Heat to emboss & let cool. Once cool, rub off release crystals.
7. Stamp Text stamp on various areas of chipboard using Coffee Archival Ink. (Remember - your image won’t show up in all areas because of the texture created by the various layers.)
8. Rub Spiced Marmalade over the dictionary definition. Adhere the inked definition to the lower right hand corner using Glossy Accents. Cover the entire definition with glossy accents.
9. Apply Alcohol Inks to the metal clip. Set aside to dry.

Leaves -

10. Paint several different shaped leaves with Distress Crackle Paint. Spiced Marmalade, Shabby Shutters, Aged Mahogany and Scattered Straw were used for the examples. Let dry & crackle.
11. Once the leaves have dried, work Walnut Stain Distress Ink into the cracks & crevices.
12. Stamp various images onto the leaves using Jet Black Archival Ink.
13. Cover the leaves with Matte, *Sepia and/or Glossy Accents on different leaves. (Note - Keep in mind the brown tone of the Sepia Accents will change the color of the Crackle Paint.) Set aside to dry.

Assembling -

14. Arrange then adhere the leaves using Glossy Accents and Pop-It shapes.
15. Cut 8-12” lengths of green craft wire and wrap into a spiral shape. Tuck under leaves and attach using Glossy Accents.
16. Tie copper ribbon around the clip.
17. Add sentiment or photo under the clip.

Hope you have a wonderful evening everyone!!

Oh yeah...don't forget to post your favorite project for a chance to win the CTMH stamp set :)
