The quarterly challenge at Gecko Galz is to "Just add lights" to your project. One of the new collage sheets this month is Stained Glass Beauty so I thought why not make a lighted "stained-glass" box....
And here it is... This photo is in regular daylight with the lights off.
And this is with the light box on in the dark.
And a 2nd pic...it's amazing how simple paper can look like stained glass isn't it?
It's a secret on how I did it...wanna know how?
I printed the image on regular weight copy paper. After the ink had cured for a day or so I swiped the back of the print with baby oil and let it set again for 48 hours. Once the baby oil dried you are left with a vellum like print! It really does look like stained glass when lighted :)
This is fabulous! You added the baby oil to the back of the print? Not heard of that before, but I am going to give it a try. Thanks for the idea. Angela
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, I've used this technique for many years. It's amazing and so much easier than trying to print on vellum.
DeleteFabulous idea and gorgeous result!
