YES! The new kit from Club Scrap has been released and is now winging it's way to everyone. I couldn't wait till it got here so I decided to play a bit with the hybrid digital Adirondacks kit. I thought it would be fun to show you a straightforward, paper/digital creation but then get a bit creative and so a little something different as well.
First the straight up hybrid digi card. The elements in the kit are so cool, if you're like me and somewhat digitally challenged, you can just print them out as is and use them right out of the box so to speak. That's what I did with this card. I chose the elements I wanted (in MSWord) did a bit of resizing, print and assemble. Easy peasy!
The hybrid digital kit comes with elements that are in full color (to match each kit) as well as elements in black and white. The black and white mountain range was so pretty and very detailed. Rather than try to fussy cut or print it on the background paper I decided to use it for an image transfer which was then colorized with Inktense Watercolor Pencils.
I printed out the mountain range resized to fit my card panel; I placed this image face down on the green panel and spritzed the back with an orange oil cleaner (Greased Lightning Orange Blast Household Cleaner & Degreaser) (Note any brand will do) and burnished with a bone folder. The ink from the image will transfer onto the cardstock yielding a reverse image of the original.
Once the image had dried it was then colorized and highlighted with Inktense Watercolor Pencils. I used a waterbrush to blend the colors a bit.
It was then mounted on a brown card base and the digital sentiment strip was added to the side.
These digital hybrid kits are so much fun and very versatile when you get into them. I can't wait till the stamps and papers arrive but until then I'll satisfy my muse by playing with the digi kit!
