I hope you had a wonderful Monday :) We had a huge surprise today...TWINS!! Yep, one of our cows had twins today ~ of course it was in the middle of a snow storm AND she only ever takes care of one ~ :S I'll post more about that in another post.
But, here and now getting back to the calendar!
CD Calendar
February
Adirondack Acrylic Dabbers ~ Blended Dabbers
Supplies:
Sticky Back Canvas or Cardstock
Adirondack Acrylic Dabbers
Cut & Dry Foam OR Ink Blending Tool & Foam
Foam Stamps
Embellishments
Adhesive
Instructions:
1. Remove the cap from the Dabber and squeeze a few dollops of paint onto the canvas or cardstock. I'm using Shell Pink, Cranberry and Pearl.
2. Use the Cut & Dry Foam or IBT/Foam and begin blending the paints. Start in the center and work your way towards the outside. You can always go back to the center and continue to blend after the initial pass. You may blend until you're satisfied with the colors but remember - don't over work the paint as you'll end up with a single all over color.
3. Let the paint dry naturally or speed drying using a heat tool.
4. After your background has dried it's time to stamp using the paint. You could stamp using a single color but I like to blend the colors a bit right on the stamps! To do so, start with the main color (in this case cranberry) and edge the stamp with 2nd color (Pitch). When you stamp the colors will blend a bit yielding nifty results!
5. If you have areas that didn't cover completely ~ you can simply touch it up with a paint brush.
6. Let the paint dry naturally or speed drying using a heat tool.
7. I wanted the background to pop a bit so I cut around the edge of one of the hearts ~ I then tucked my collage image behind the heart.
8. Trace the CD & cut out.
9. Finish embellishing the canvas as desired.
10. If you are using Sticky Back Canvas no additional adhesive is necessary ~ simply peel and stick.
February is now finished!!!
Be sure to check in tomorrow for March!
