I was so excited when I found out I was going to be able to work with the Ornithoper (pronounced [awr-nuh-thop-ter]. It has such a great Steampunk look and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it...
Isn't that the coolest looking flying machine? I just love it. Anyway, to get the cool vintage look I started off by coloring the Ornithoper with a black Sharpie Marker.
Next I inked up a piece of a glassine envelope with Spiced Chai StazOn Midi. I just swiped it across the glassine then immediatly wiped across it with a tissue to take up much of the ink to make it look more stained than inked.
I then glued the frame to the glassine and let it dry. Once dry I took my exacto knife and cut off all the excess glassine.
For the tag I started off by inking up the tag using Pistachio & Peanut Brittle Memento Luxe Inks.
Once the inks had dried I then stamped several fun images available at Altered Pages onto the tag.
Next I added a dash of metal leafing here and there (adhering it using Duo Adhesive) and gave it a spritz of the Bronze irRESISTible Texture Spray.
After everything had a chance to dry I started adding the tag, mini bingo card, sentiment and more. I had such fun making this tag and I just love how it turned out. I LOVE that ornithoper!!!

ReplyDeleteGreat job, Roni! Love the whole tag, and the ornithopter is crazy cool!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Thanks, Roni!
ReplyDeleteVery fun tag Roni. thanks as always for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great tag! I love the depth on the tag background. Nice use of the glassine, too.
ReplyDeleteI love this tag. It rocks with lots of depth and different textures. But you really must quit using those yummy inks as I get hungry every time I read your posts where you use Peanut Brittle colored ink or have the urge to go fix a cup of Chai tea. The glassine is perfect for the ornithopter. Thanks for sharing another project which rocks!
ReplyDeleteVery cool, love that birdie/orno wotsit! Thanks for sharing Karen x
ReplyDeleteAwesome tag Roni! Must have more ornithopers! Happy 4th!~kim
ReplyDeleteabsolutely fabulous! just to be clear - you first drew (and then markered) onto clear acetate, right?
ReplyDeleteclever, clever, clever.
and ... being an ex-English-teacher nerd, I love find new words which I can drop in conversations very casually. This one will do quite nicely!
