Christmas in July - Question #5

Time for another chance to win a Christmas gift in July.... I'm gonna make you dig for this one...not as much as the Rudolph one but more so than the last.

The editorial "Yes Virginia There is a Santa Clause" was written September 21, 1897 by Francis Pharcellus Church and was published by the New York Sun newspaper.

    Virginia O'Hanlon was the writer of the letter. It still amazes me that a letter written by a child has had such an impact and that even more than a century later the editorial is being re-printed. Thanks for a fun question.

    Virginia O'Hanlon wrote the letter to the Sun. I am in awe of this eight year old child who seems to have changed the way we look at Christmas. I'm also in awe that the editorial is still published, even though the Sun refused to do so for several years after the first publication. Thanks for this fun question that I can actually answer!
