Embossed Blending
So here goes...
Supplies:
Tag
Distress Ink (2 colors to blend)
Ink Blending Tool
Background Stamp
Clear Embossing Ink
Clear Embossing Powder
Heat Tool
Iron
Scrap Paper
Embellishments to finish off your calendar page
Instructions:
1. Use the Ink Blending Tool to apply your first color to 2/3rds of your tag...since I'm using white cardstock I marked off where my tag would fall.
2. Ink up a portion of your background stamp - I inked up about a 1.25" strip ~ it's the glossy area on the upper portion of the stamp. The Embossing Dabber works great for this technique as you can direct the ink exactly where you want it.
3. Press the stamp in the upper third of the colored area.
4. Sprinkle with embossing powder, shake off the excess
and heat to melt the powders.
5. Now ink up the upper portion of the tag with your second color of ink. Blend it down over the embossed area. You will now have a nice blend over the embossed area of the two colors.
here's a look at the entire piece....
6. (optional) Place a sheet of scrap paper over the embossed area and with a hot iron remove the embossed powder. This step isn't necessary but I like the matte look after the embossing powder has been removed.
Finish off the tag as desired!

I wrote the "Hot, Hot, Hot!" using a vintage quill pen and some dip pen ink!
I'm so excited...it's the first time I've used one of my quill pen nib to write with instead of using the pen nib as an embellishment on a project. I'll share more on that in the near future!
Hope you're all stayin' warm...
and safe with all the snow coming...
again! LOL!!
Great tag, love the background you created.
