CD Shards & Alcohol Inks!

Today I have a Mother's Day Card I want to share with you. It's not so much the card but the CD shard which embellishes the card.

Generations - MothDay SS

It's a great way to use those discarded internet cd's we all get in the mail. With a few supplies you've probably already got laying around you'll be creating stunning embellishments in no time!

Supplies:

Adirondack Alcohol Inks - Ranger
CD Shards
Archival Ink - Jet Black - Ranger
Embossing Ink - Ranger
Gold Embossing Powder - Ranger
Generations Rubber Stamp - Stampers Anonymous
Sentiment - TAC
Paisley stamp - Technique Tuesday
Cardstock - Bazzill
Crop-o-Dial - WeRMemory Keepers
Fibers, Eyelet & Charms - Unknown

Instructions:

1. Cut or break CD into desired sized pieces. BE VERY CAREFUL - CD's have extremely sharp edges when broken.

2. Apply alcohol inks to cd shard. Let Dry.

3. Stamp image onto cd using Archival Ink. (NOTE - this is a permanent quick drying ink that does not react with AI's like Staz-on does.) Set Aside.

4. Stamp paisley onto purple cardstock using embossing ink & let dry. This will create a watermark image on the paper.

5. Stamp sentiment using black ink onto paisley stamped cardstock.

6. Cut & assemble card. Mount sentiment.

7. Punch a hole in the cd shard using the Crop-O-Dial. Add eyelet.

8. Press each side of the cd shard into the embossing ink pad then into gold embossing powder. Heat to melt the powder. Let cool.

9. Once cool, add fibers and charms. Mount on the card using Pop-It Dots foam double stick tape.
Tomorrow I will share another cd shard piece with you but this time it's a "wearable" piece of art.
Have a great day everyone!!
