Month of Crafty Giveaways!

As most of you know last month was National Craft Month...I had planned on having lots of fun giveaways each week BUT since I got the flu I didn't do much of anything.  So I thought we'll just do it this month!

Each week I'll be asking a question about a different craft - all you have to do is answer the question and you'll be entered to win!  Easy as that.  I'll randomly select a winner from all of the answers to win a surprise.

This weeks question...

What is your favorite crafty activity?
Why?

It could be card making, scrapbooking, stamping, mixed media collage, collecting supplies, watercoloring, painting, coloring Adult Coloring Books, etc....what ever makes your heart happy.

My favorite crafty activity is stamping/card making.  I get so intimidated when I see all of the one picture over-the-top scrapbook lay-outs which is why I basically quit scrapbooking lo's several years ago. Card making doesn't have that type of pressure - anything goes.  It's a much more relaxing (for me) activity.  Now a close second is mixed media collage - I like to pile it on so it's lots of fun - you basically just wade in and play.

That being said I am trying to scrap wedding pics for the kids :)  It is one of my goals for 2017.  If I get that accomplished I might even jump in and scrap some of my old pictures that I have piled up around here...maybe - LOL!!  I really like the help that Club Scrap gives with it's kits...you get a full set of instructions on how to cut and assemble lo's that accommodate many photos on each one. That's what I need because I don't just take one spectacular focal image...I take lots and lots - and I took 'em, so I want to use them.

So how about you?

  8. My favorite is making cards. I like the fun I have and when I send cards out to people without a specific reason, just a surprising card in the mail. I used to sew a lot, but is more fun I think, especially the older I get. I like the aspect of using this hobby to stay in touch with people also, a dying habit.

  9. My favorite is card making. I find it rewarding to finish something in an afternoon rather than months as in just about any other hobby (ie. crocheting, knitting, or quilting) Then there is the reward factor; when you give a card and see the persons face or hear their comments on your art. Somebody actually likes something I've made!

  15. My first love in crafting is card making but shopping goes right along with it. I see things that I just think I can use sometime and I buy it. I have so much stuff I know I can never use it all. But I love card making. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. LOL

  19. I enjoy all kinds of crafts, but recently I've been doing more paper crafting. Right now I've been making books with pocket pages. I love pocket pages, and have been trying different ways to make them.

  20. Now I'm into junk journaling. I enjoy that every page is different. That there is no theme except what you feel in the moment. Plus ATC's with no theme as I have to have each totally different.

  21. Oh, fun question. I love to talk about my favorite crafts, almost as much as actually doing them! I love stamping and card making the most as well....for the same reasons you give. No trying to coordinate with photos and different colors. I love die cutting and embossing almost as much as stamping lately, and am trying to learn how to use alcohol markers.

  22. Card making has been my favorite craft for a while now. Tea bag folding, rubber stamping, embroidery, and other embellishments are my faves, but recently I started coloring with colored pencils and I am enjoying this as well.

  23. Wow, this is a tough question. I really love it all; the favorite depends on the day of the week! Card-Making is fun, and I do enjoy scrapbooking - matching photos with papers... and crocheting so I don't snack when I get the chance to watch TV. And, collecting anything crafty with the motto "I know just what I will use this for!" I hae also become a big fan of reading crafting blogs like yours!!

  24. Card making seems to be the craft to which I lean most. Trying new techniques is fun and rewarding. I like to send home-made cards to my friends for various occasions and they don't take that long to do, unlike my quilting and knitting!

  28. Card Making is my favorite. I enjoy making interactive cards for my grandchildren and really like trying out new "artsy" techniques for cards for my friends.

  29. You started out with a tough question! You name a craft/art and I probably do it, did it, or at least tried it! My current favorite is card making. But that included so many things, stamping, coloring, creating backgrounds, collage, etc. So many of my crafts bleed into each other and the supplies are interchangeable!

  30. I love to experiment with all kinds of crafting techniques.... which is why I love scrapbooking. My layouts are full of stitching, painting, mixed media, digital techniques.... whatever catches my fancy that day. mixed in with pictures and a story.

  31. I agree about this being a big question! I could write a list! I absolutely love Gelli printing. Usually I will go spend the night with my Mom (she lives nearby) and we will print Friday evening late, then get up on Saturday and print most of the day. I don't think I will ever get tired of doing it. The challenge is using up those lovely papers. :)

  32. Hi Roni!! So sorry you weren't feeling well enough to do this fun activity last month.
I would say my favorite craft is mixed media/techniques and then incorporating them into projects. I love the process of trying to figure out how to get a project from my head and into reality. Then sitting down, playing with techniques and finally bringing it to life!! :)

  33. My favourite crafty activity at the moment is painting. I am loving to explore the world of abstract animals painted with loose brush strokes and vivid colours. I have even been asked to paint some work colleges dogs in this form. I am enjoying the challenge. Cheers for now & have a beautiful day xxx

  34. I like many forms of artwork, but the ones I do the most are card making and scrapbooking. I love making cards for the creativity of it, but also that it makes the sentiment more special for the receiver. Scrapbooking lets me relive moments and events from the past and that is so heartwarming. I don't worry about trends. I have my own style and that suits me. It's much more simple than these overly embellished art pages I see so much of YouTube. They're beautiful, just not my style. Thank you for asking and for all the wonderful artwork you share.

  35. Roni there are so many things that I love to do. I perfer card making over scrapbooking any day, I enjoy making pocket letters at the moment and lots of ATC'S these days , but at the moment I've just designed some stained glass windows that now I'll have to make some they will be taking up some of my time away from all my parents Crafting. But I love all things are arsty.
    Hugs Nikki
