Club Scrap DT Challenge - Metal Mania!

This month's Club Scrap DT Challenge is such fun - our challenge was to incorporate metal (faux or real) to our projects this month.  Of course it fits in perfectly with this months kit - Creative License.  Actually, my problem this month wasn't what to make - I had so many ideas it was hard to narrow down just which type of metal or metal techniques I wanted to use!

My first card I made using a panel of copper which I had aged with a variety of StazOn inks then embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.  Copper is my most favorite metal color which is why that was the first I used.

For my next card I wanted to "make" metal.

So I pulled out another embossing folder and smeared Shimmery Silver Delicata ink over the smooth side, inserted a piece of cardstock and ran it through my big shot.

I was left with a lovely shimmery piece of cardstock that looked just like metal!

To highlight the design I rubbed a bit of the Black Shimmer Delicata over the design.

Finally I made some metal in a different way.   I took several pieces of scrap paper, covered each piece with a layer of Metallic Creative Medium (copper, bronze, gold and silver).  Once the papers had dried I die-cut loads of gears from the paper.  They look so real in person!

Here's the inside of that card...
Love the stamps included in this kit.  The license plate kit is awesome!

So, do you like to use metal - real or imitation on your projects?

Thanks for stopping by!!
