Stencil Challenge!

This month Club Scrap challenged the Artist Team to create with stencils and masks!  Well there are just so many fun techniques you can use with these tools of the trade I had a hard time choosing just one so I decided to make a canvas and use LOTS of techniques!

And here's what I made....

The sentiment says - "HAPPINESS is not having what you want. It is WANTING what you have."

So, here's what I did...I started off by sprinkling on Lime Green and Turquoise Brusho Colour Crystals over the canvas and heating it to dry.

I then used 3 different foliage stencils over the entire back - I used Teal Zeal Memento Dye Ink.

Here is what it looked like at this point...

Next a bit of gesso through a fun circle stencil.

Then I used a vision chart stencil paired with black modeling paste and lots of stamping.  I used stamps from the following kits - Blue Prints, Lakes, and Oopsie Daisy (all from 2014).

Then I added a bit of Paris Dusk ink through a beehive stencil.

I finished it off by adding lots of texture using irRESISTible Texture Sprays (Pear Tart & Paris Dusk), a bit of Fireworks! spray and fine gold thread behind the statue lady which I cut from a piece of pattern paper.  (The sentiment came from the same kit.)

Supplies:

Club Scrap.com - Stencils, Stamps, Statue Lady, Sentiment
IMAGINE Crafts - Memento Ink, irRESISTible Texture Spray, Fireworks! Spray
Deco Art - Gesso, Modeling Paste
Canvas - Dick Blick

Now for a bit of fun....can you guess how many masks and stencils I used?
(Hint: it's more than the photo below!)

Leave a comment with your guess on this post and you could win this set of Club Scrap stencils & masks for your very own!

You have until 8-25-15 to post your comment to be entered to win!
Good Luck Everyone!!

Now it's time to get crafty!!

  9. Thanks for taking us through the process. The background has so much dimension, both "real" and visual. That statue print and quote sticker are from the Club Scrap Refresh collection . . . wow, that was a looooong time ago!
