Pan Pastel Feathers

Today I decided to dig out my Pan Pastels and play a little bit...  I thought they would compliment this lovely peacock feather brilliantly.  What do you think?

On the first card I stamped and embossed the feather with white ep.  I then applied lighter colors of the Pan Pastels over the feather and background.  I did use a bit darker PP in the center of the feather to make it pop a bit.

On my second card I stamped the feathers with Teal Zeal Memento Dye Ink. I added a few feathers to the background using Sky Blue ink.  I then applied irRESISTible Pico Embellishers - Gold, Purple and Black over various parts of the feathers.  Once that was dry I went over the feathers and background with various colors of Pan Pastels.

Supplies:

Just For Fun Rubber Stamps - All images & sentiments.
IMAGINE Crafts featuring Tsukineko - Memento Dye Inks, VersaMark, White Embossing Powders, irRESISTible Pico Embellishers, Sponge Daubers
Pan Pastels

Hope you're all having a lovely week.  I'm not so much...I've been having a though time of it lately.  My youngest ds moved out into his own place on the 1st which I know is a good thing - it's just trying to convince my heart is kind of hard. We've always been close and I've just been missing him so much...talking to him in the evenings, sharing I-funnies, and just having him around.   How do you do it?  I've been trying to fill my time with other things but every once in a while I'm just sitting doing nothing and wishing he was there.  I'm sure after a while I'll get used to it but for now... well, let's just say you should buy stock in Puffs.

  2. Your cards are so beautiful. You did a wonderful job with the pan pastels. They are so soft and pretty. I had a hard time when my daughter left and ended up having a breakdown, so I have no suggestions for you except to stay strong. Good luck to both of you.

  4. First off I want to say what you have been feeling about your son leaving home is normal when mother and child has a close bond. Lol! I know if my late husband hadn't of accepted a transfer to another state my son's room would have stayed exactly as it was when he left. After my son left I immersed myself in cleaning. My house has never been as clean since.

I love your use of the pan pastels. The second card is my favorite. That background really makes the other colors pop. I don't own any pan pastels yet but thinking of doing this with pan chalks. Lol! I guess also that I should go ahead and purchase that feather stamp as I was sitting on the fence before trying to be good. Of course since shipping is the same whether I buy one stamp or a few more you know I'll have to buy more. Thank you for sharing and for enabling me. :-) Have a wonderful weekend.

  5. These cards are gorgeous Roni! I felt the same way when my daughter got married and moved out! Big hole in my heart. She pops in twice a week after her Karate classes so I am not totally deprived. Maybe you can convince your son to come to dinner once a week. Have a great day!
