Gelli Plate Print + PanPastels & Give-Away!!!

Happy Friday!  So are you all preparing for the next big Polar Vortex???  Dang, seems like we were just warming up from the last one.  Oh well, guess we're skippin' fall and getting right into winter here - BRRRRRRR!!!!!

I'm not skipping Fall in my crafting so Mother Nature will just have to get over it.  Today I have a fun pairing - a Gelli Plate Print + PanPastels.

Now this is what my print started off looking like.  This print was actually just intended to lift off some of the paint already on the plate through a stencil - not a real for sure intentional print.  I thought the colors were pretty so I kept it.  I'm glad I did because it works perfectly with my PanPastels....

I pulled out my red/orange/yellow PanPastels and set about blending from reds to a pretty straw yellow.

The PanPastels blend so smoothly it's very easy to get a beautiful effect.  I love how the lighter yellow design from the Gelli Plate print adds such a subtle pattern.

I trimmed it out to 5x7 - cause I couldn't stand to waste any of it, cut some leaves from another scrap of fall-ish colored print and stamped the sentiment "So Grateful" (Unity Stamp Co).

Fun and easy but such beautiful results!

Now for the give-away!  I have the set of PanPastels I got to use for the DT gig on Altered Pages when they partnered up (Pastels Set of 5 colors + Sofft Tool & Foams) for one lucky reader!!  Is that reader you???  It could be - all you have to do to be entered into the drawing is to answer this question...Fall or Winter?  Which is your favorite season???

You'll have until 11-14-14 to post your answer to be entered to win!

Good Luck Everyone
and
Have a wonderful weekend!!!

  1. Such a beautiful creation Roni, need to get my gelli plate out again soon :-)

It's hard question to answer, both Fall and Winter have their beauty and faults, but I think I'll go with Winter, mainly because then we're closer to spring again :-)

  10. Your card turned out stunning. I like how you decorated it, too.

Given the choices, I have to say fall because I hate hot weather and cold weather. Mild weather is my friend. Like you, I'm not ready for this freezing cold.

  14. Fall is definitely my favorite season! I am totally obsessed with Christmas, though, so if it was a choice between December and Fall, I would choose December. Thanks for the opportunity to win some Pan Pastels. Love your project! I always appreciate your innovative ideas.

Okay, to the question at hand..fall or winter? Even though I love winter, for just a week or two....I have to say fall, as it really does stir my minds fond memories and warms the cockles of my heart- so my final answer is Fall! xo

  18. The smells and colors of fall make it my choice over winter. Winter would be my choice if it didn't last so long though. I would love the chance to play with pan pastels!

  21. Yah, that darn polar vortex. Living in Canada with lots of snow I'd have to say fall, but like you we really didn't have much of one this year. Or should I say we had fall all summer long.

I love your card. The original circular design is beautiful. And of course I love the orange.

  23. Love the way you used your Gelli print, Roni! I've got a stack of them, I really should use them! Fall or winter? Well, I was born and raised in the Adirondack mountains of New York. Our fall colors are famous - love all of the golds, reds, browns mixed together. Our winters are pretty famous too - Lake Placid, skiing, bobsledding. It's a toss up for me, but I love the colors of fall so fall it is. Thanks for the chance to win some Pan Pastels!

  25. Winter - I love the way the trees look after they have lost all their leaves. I laugh at my dog when I take him for a walk in the snow.

  26. Definately FALL for me. FALL and Spring are my favorite time of year....winter is my very least favorite.

  31. 'm not sure I can choose! I love fall because it's getting cooler, and the beautiful colors and Halloween. But then there is winter with Christmas, and bright lights, and family get-togethers, and snowmen and snow! I think I love them equally.

  32. I'm not so fond of either, but between the two I'd pick Fall, definitely.

  33. I'm definitely for Fall. I despise Winter!
I have no experience with Gelli Prints, and wish I could understand more about how you got that print (I think you said "leftover from stencil"). The print alone is gorgeous!

  36. fall- i love watching the trees and leaves, some days the air is so fresh & crisp, even here in New York! & I despise the cold of winter

  37. Winter! I love snow-the deeper, the better! Crisp air, sparkly ground=heaven!

  38. Oh what a beautiful clean up print and your card is lovely!

  39. Fall (esp. Oct) is the best time of the year here in northern Cal. We've got warm days and the nights are cool enough to bring on some fall color. Winter is just cold and wet (well, hopefully wet this year).

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love them both and miss then both but since I have to choose Fall because of all the beautiful colors like you captured on your gorgeous card!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I enjoy walking in the snow and taking pictures in the winter but I have to save Fall is my favorite. I love all the beautiful colors which by the way you captured so beautifully in your card.. I love walking in the crisp air and having the leaves crunch under feet. Then there are those fresh harvested apples which are so juicy that sometimes the juice dribbles down my chin. The apples which come out of storage later in the year and are sold in stores just doesn't have that same fresh flavor or crunchiness.

Thanks for the chance to win some pan pastels. That is very generous of you.

  42. Fall is definitely my favorite. I love the temps, changing leaves and Halloween. Winter in Kansas is yucky.... very cold and ugly.

  43. Fall is indeed my favorite, but I do get a bit melancholy as the season settles in. I'd love to win the Pan Pastels but I ammalready thrilled to have found your amazing blog through the interview. My local library doesn't carry your book so I am sad.

  46. Fall is my favorite! Comfortable days, cool nights, and all the beautiful colors in the trees! I enjoy winter, too, but only when it snows and we rarely get snow in central Texas.

which was used with the round Gelli Plate.
