"H" is for Halloween! Window Decoration

Recently I was lucky enough to be a JoAnn's going through their clearance lane and I found a rockin' 12" tall wood "H".

I took pics of it "in process" but that memory card is now in my ds's camera which he has at the moment....so I'll just tell you what I did and you can imagine what it looked like - LOL!!

Initially I painted the front with bronze metallic paint by Eco Green, I then flipped it over and painted the back and edges with black acrylic paint.

After it dried I placed the harlequin mask from The Crafter's Workshop over the lower portion of the bronze side of  the "H".   I dabbed on black acrylic paint and it created a really grungy looking harlequin pattern.

While that was drying I worked on the spider & pumpkin die cuts.  Both are 12" long plain cardstock from bazzill basics.  I used one section of the pumpkin border and the spider boarder was way to long for my needs so I trimmed about 3" from the center of his dangle (sounds bad huh?) then glued him back together with the web.  I  then used some distress markers to color up the pumpkins and I used Stickles Glitter Glue to color the spider.

I printed out several different Halloween collage images, inked the edges of each and matted a few of them with a bit of Graphic 45 Trick or Treat pattern paper.

At that point I just started arranging things on the "H" and glued them down when I was satisfied with the look.

And here's what I ended up with.....

a close up of the spider & that corner's goodies...

the pumpkin die cuts and the little pumpkin cutie...

Now, you might think that's all there is to it..
Nope, there's a reason I painted the back black....

Next week I'm going to flip it over and try to create a stamped Halloween collage on that side!
I figure being decorated on both sides would make it a great decoration to place in a window...
that way both folks outside and people inside would both be able to enjoy the Halloween spirit!!
