Vintage Victorian Specimen Collection - Part IV

Today it's time to finish off our Egg Victorian Specimen Collection!!

If you remember, we left off letting the embellished game board dry.

Now that the board has had a chance to dry it's time to distress it a bit....after all, this is a "vintage" specimen collection.

To do so I took some masking tape and stuck it down along the edges ...

then peeled it up quickly.  This will pull up some of the text while leaving other areas intact. 

 Just the look you're going for!

Now it's time to ink it up....

Use your favorite color of brown ink to really give it that aged feel.

And here's what it looks like at this point...

Now begin adhering the eggs to the board.

Since the eggs are dimensional and delicate looking I only add glue to the very edges that will actually touch the board.  You can see the glue placement below....

Continue adding eggs to the board as desired ~ While you are adding the eggs, you can also add a "specimen title" if desired.  I used a vintage Dennison red label for my title and I have also added another vintage Dennison "fragile" label as well just for the fun of it.

After you have all of your eggs glued down it's time to add a number under each "specimen"...after all, you will need to be able to identify the individual specimens later on.

I then added a couple brass corner pieces...

And a hanger!
