Art Journal #6 Supply List

O.k. peeps...  It's time for your supply list for our next entry in our Discovery Art Journal!

This week's list is rather simply...

only 2 supplies in 2 colors!

You'll need the following.....

Cardstock - 1 sheet of white, 1 sheet of black
Pens - 1 Black, 1 White

That's it!  Now I know the white pen thing might be an obstacle for some of you.  If it is, no fretting...just use two sheets of white paper and the black pen.  It won't have the same impact but remember, this is a use what you have type of challenge!

I do want to tell you about a new (to me) white pen that I have fallen in love with.  It's the Souffle pen from Sakura of America.  Now, up till now I've been using Rangers Inkssential Pigment Pen and it's worked for the most part.  After it ages a bit the pens tend to skip which drives me nuts.  Well, I've started using the white Souffle pen and man oh man...this thing ROCKS!  So far it hasn't skipped a lick and I've used about 1/4 of the pen ink already.  It's billed as an opaque 3-D pen...I'm not so sure about the 3-D part.  I don't think it puffs as much as they claim it does but the opaque part is what excites me the most.

It's also fun to watch...yes I know...I am essentially watching ink dry but hey what can I say.  I LOVE INK!   When you write with this pen it leaves a milky fluid on the paper...it starts drying from the outside edges inward.  Well, it doesn't sound cool but I'll take some pics tomorrow and share it with you.  I think once you try one you'll be as excited about them as I am.

I also want you to think about your values and pick one that you'd like to highlight with this exercise.  I found a list containing 374 different values here - List of Values.   It may help you decide or it may only confuse you more - lol...

In addition to selecting a value I want you to think of an example in your life that either made you realize how important this value is to you or an example of why you hold this value dear.  I know this may be a very personal challenge and you may not want others to be able to read it easily so you can always hide your journaling with a tag/pocket or a hidden journal spot behind a lift up door.

I for one have been wrestling with something recently that has brought integrity (my own and others) into the spotlight.  It has been bothering me quite a bit and I hope that by journaling about it I can let go of some feelings that have been bottled up inside me for a while.

We'll see I guess....

Anyway, this is your assignment for the day and tomorrow we'll begin!

  3. Integrity - what an important value. I've always liked my friend/mentor's definition. Integrity is coming to a 4-way stop in the middle of the desert with no one around, and you still stop at the stop sign. Food for thought.

  4. I would love to have something good happen this month. I lost both parents this month, a day apart, and both buried on the 9th. Even though they died a few years ago, it is still hard. I have many surgeries coming up and the colors just pop of enthusiasm and smiles.
