LESSology - Guest Designer!

Hi Guys!
I wanted to tell you about a relatively new blog called - LESSology.  It's a challenge blog dedicated to altered arts and using upcycled (recycled) goodies!
Now you all know how much I love altered arts AND how much I love to use old, discarded or worn out "things" so it's a perfect fit :)
I am the guest designer today
and
the challenge was to create a trinket box!
What fun :)
Here is what I started with....

an old candy tin which has a unique lid.  It almost reminds me of one of those vintage hump back steamer trunks.

Autumn Trinket Box 003

And I also found a bit of old material and tossed in a few old book pages, pieces of vintage sheet music and a couple dictionary pages just for good measure :)

Autumn Trinket Box 005

Now, to see the finished project you'll have to hop on over to LESSology and check it out -  LESSology Challenge #2 - Trinket Box - Roni Johnson

Be sure to stop back and let me know what you thought of the box because....
if you do you'll be entered to win the box which I will fill with some lovely fall inky trinkets just for you!!!

You have until 10-15-11 to post your comment to be entered to win!

Good Luck Friends!!!

  12. okay, the box is beautiful, but I am fixated on the Asbach Uralt chocolate-covered cherries that you got to "dispose of" in order to recycle the tin! Those liquor-filled chocolates are to-die for!

  18. Love your altered tin! And love the LESSology blog! Definitely adding that to my list of favorite places to visit.

I have to say, Roni, that your work is an endless source of inspiration for me. For years I've collected what my husband used to refer to as "junk", but I knew that "junk" was really potential art material. Because of you and other bloggers who are so willing to share your skills and knowledge, I've been able to turn that "junk" into beautiful art. My husband not only doesn't tease me about it anymore, he now helps me look for new "junk" to use in my projects! I love that!

  23. I just love-love-love how you used the stains to color the fabric. The text flower is a perfect accent. And the black ribbon just tied it all together. This truly is a fab piece of art Roni!
