Get Inked - May 2011 - Vintage Paris

I wanted to share my May Get Inked Kit with you today which is available at Queen Kat Designs!

(Note: The reason April's kit was never added to the site was because it sold out before Vicki had a chance to add it to the site!  She has more kit components on order and should be up as soon as they come in.  There are still 2 of the March Kits - Vintage Steampunk - available if you're interested.)

Get Inked
Vintage Paris

Now I don't know what comes to mind when you think of when Vintage Paris comes to mind.  For me, the Eiffel Tower is the first thing that pops into my mind...  The come can-can girls scantily clad in frills and lace with a pair of sexy button up boots.  Those elements are all included in this stamp set along with a vintage perfume label and a coupon to get into one of those clubs.  I have also included a few words in French for you to add to your designs....Merci, Bella, Bonjour, mere (mother) and Thanks in English.

Here are the projects I've created using these stamps and the accompanying kit inks - Cranberry Adriondack Dye Ink and Colorbox Royal Silk Pigment Ink.

Thanks (masked) Card

and finally

Bella Collage

I am very excited about this collage...it was so much fun to create.  I used a fun foundation for this collage...any guesses on what it might be (this may be too easy)?

For those of you who guessed it is a vintage Tart Tin you are correct!  Recently, I was lucky enough to acquire a treasure trove of them...all shapes, sizes and designs.  I have been having such fun experimenting and playing with them, they are almost an obsession!  I've got several projects planned to share with you all in the coming weeks and maybe even a chance to win a few tins for yourself ;) I can hardly wait!

For the time being though I thought I'd give away a set of May's Get Inked stamps....
Interested?

Well if you'd like to be entered into the drawing, just tell me the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Vintage Paris.

You have until 5-26-11 to post your comment!

Good Luck Friends

and

Have a simply wonderfully Inky Day!!

  3. The Eiffel Tower of course! And a man with a black and white striped shirt, a red ascot, and a beret(I know its probably a stereotype compliments of the cartoons I watched as a kid, but when I think of Paris, that's always part of the mental scenery! LOL)

  7. To me Vintage Paris is bohemians drinking Absinthe, then going on to the Moulin Rouge for an evening of debauchery.

I love your cards and the ornament. How clever of you to mount the collage on the bundt tin. I love those little tins, so adorable.
As to what I think of when I hear "Vintage Paris", well, I think of old laces, gargoyles, the market place, flowers, can-can dancers, Gigi, and of course the Eiffel Tower!

  12. Love the vintage Paris stamp images!! When I think of that time period, I think of the color and dappled colors of the French Impressionists. Park scenes, with ladies and parasols! And of course, the Eiffel tower!

  15. The first thing I think of is an old postcard of the Eiffel tower, hand-tinted in those unnatural, pretty colors, with maybe a Victorian lady in the background.

  27. It isn't quite vintage but I think of my husband's grandfather's pictures of his soldier buddies by the Arc de Triomphe from WWII. You can see in this picture the awe of these young men as they enjoyed a little R&R. This is a gorgeous set! TFS, Paula
