Get Inked - April 2011 - 4 Seasons Flowers!

I am so excited about this months stamps for the April 11 Get Inked Kit.... 4 Seasons of Flowers!

Several people have asked for realistic flowers and here they are... Initially I couldn't decide on which flowers to use since there are thousands to choose from so I figured one from each season of the year would be a good place to start.  The flowers in the kit are: Spring - Tulips; Summer - Cosmos; Fall - Sunflower; Winter - Poinsettia.   There are also two small sentiments ~ Congratulations and Best Wishes.

As a  little bonus there is also a seperate set of sentiment stamps available for purchase ~ Stylish Sentiments.  I don't know about you but I never seem to have enough sentiment stamps.  These are all basic sentiments in a nice clean script font ~ when paired with the 4 Seasons Flowers the possibilities are endless!

The stamping goodies in the kit this month are the Lollipop (rainbow color) Versa Color Ink Pad and some sparklie pink glitter embossing powder!

And here are the cards created with the kit...

  1. My favorite flower has always been the carnation. It is amazing to me to think that this flower isn't really so popular among artists.

  2. My favorite flowers are the lilac and the hyancinth (sp?). They both smell beautiful, they were both favorites of my mother's, and they are also both purple!

  3. I love the peaceful feeling I get from water lilies.

  4. I love roses and lilacs for their scents. It would be hard to choose which would be my favorite, but if forced, I guess roses last longer and mine bloom more than once in a season.

  5. What a beautiful flower set and, yes, one always needs a great sentiment set as well. My favorite flower would be a rose -- just love the fragrance and various colours available as well as it is my birth month flower.

  6. Roni -

What a beautiful garden of flowers you've cultivated! These are gorgeous!! I have three favorite flowers that I just love. I love the little violas called Johnny-jump-ups, I just adore those sweet little faces. I also love lavender, I'm upset because my plants died over the winter. So as soon as the weather is nice, its out to buy some more. I love the way they smell and I love to dry them and set them in little bags or bowls in the house. My other favorite flower are lilacs. I love their wonderful perfume. One of the things I love about all three flowers is that they all share some shade of purple, my favorit color.

  7. It is so hard to choose one favourite. I have always had a soft spot for wild meadow flowers. Picture a field of Poppies, Daisies, and Buttercups. Mother nature is an amazing artist.

  8. My favorite flowers are the oriental Hellebores. They have now been bred in so many colours plus double ones and spotted inside ones etc. They are all so beautiful. They cheer up my garden being the first things in flower after the winter. They flower for ages and take whatever the weather throws at them. They also have seedlings as a real bonus.

  9. My favorite is a tulip, any color, the more I can fit in a vase the better! The more I can fit in my garden, heaven! There was a flower farm by my home in Arizona and I think they thought I was crazy...sitting in the sun drawing them...sigh...

  22. My favorite flower is the sunflower. I love the way it turns its face to the sun, soaking up each ray. It is one of the last flowers to bow down to winter, and then provides food for the birds.

  24. My all time favourites are irises, they are just just so elegant and the rich deep purple is just so regal, the white is just gorgeous too. And crocuses, once you see them beginning to peep out of the ground you know that winter is starting to lose its grip, the swathes of colour are just so joyful you cant help but smile.

  31. Picking a favorite flower is not easy. I am quite good at unintentionally killing my flowers, so I'll will go with lavendar roses. I once had one that actually thrived and produced gorgeous blooms. Their scent was noticeably different. Very soft.

  36. I recently discovered your blog and have had a great time visiting your older posts. Thanks for the tutorials. My favorite flower is a shasta daisey. They are prolific in the summeer and make good cutting flowers, all in a large bunch, or added to other flowers as filler. And, they are easy to dye so I can customize the color.

  37. I love all types of flowers and picking one is near impossible! I love tulips. I adore daffodils. I grow all kinds of lilies and Ornamental Poppies. All of these flowers have their own appeal to me. Some are soft shapes while others are spikey! But all are beautiful!

I would so love to win these new stamps and the kit that goes with! Then I could have more flowers all year long!

  38. Any kind of wild flower. Hiking in the mountains I fell in love with columbine, desert paints, tiny cactus blooms hiding underneath leaves from larger plants. Sometimes you really have to look to find the treasures hidden away waiting for discovery. The tiniest blooms grow on the tundra at the top of the mountains. I have many photos of the flowers I have met on my travels.

  39. I was trying to pick just one flower from all of my favorites. I think I have at least one for every season.

  46. Those are super cute and tender. Right now I´m in Argentina, away from my home and family and I would like to send them cards for Easter. I think I will use cards like yours for that. Fortunately, I´m in an apartment in buenos aires where I can do everything at any time and I have all the materials I need here.
    thanks for the ideas!

  54. These flower stamps are beautiful -- don't you think you could make countess cards from them? My favourite flower -- iris reticulata. It's the tiny iris (6" high) that blooms with the snow drops. When I see that, my heart just soars. Spring is here!!

  55. My favourite flower has to be a Wisteria, I have a great big Wisteria in our backyard that my husband gave to me for our anniversary and took 7 years to finally get a flower on it. Now it is massive, but unfortunately blooms for a very short period in the Spring, but I still love it. I look forward every Spring to seeing the large pendulum-shaped flower clusters.
