Get Inked - March 2011 ~ Vintage Steampunk!!!

Yes this is my first time designing a Get Inked kit centered around a very Steampunk theme.  I am so excited about it...I had fun coming up with the images and even more fun making the projects for this months kit.  Paired with my stamps for March are Distress Embossing Ink and Bronze Perfect Pearls.

Here is what I came up with...

GI - Vintage Steampunk - March 11 - 01

GI - Vintage Steampunk - March 11 - 02

GI - Vintage Steampunk - March 11 - 03

and my Steampunk Necklace...

GI - Vintage Steampunk - March 11 - 05

GI - Vintage Steampunk - March 11 - 06

Would you like a shot to win a set of stamps from this months kit?

All you have to do to be entered into the drawing is tell me a theme or idea you'd like to see turned into stamps for the Get Inked kits!

You have until 3-24-11 to post your idea!

And if you just can't wait and want your own set of stamps, extra goodies and instructions on how to create these projects you can always hop on over to Queen Kat Designs and pick up this months Get Inked Kit!!

  1. I'm always looking for stamps I can use in conjunction with Tarot cards and there's not much out there.
any ideas? Fortune telling? Phrenology? Reading tea leaves? Palm reading? Maybe I'm the only person looking for these kinds of stamps. Hmmm...maybe I should design some for you! Anne, yourmainestamper

  2. Wow, fabulous steampunk stamps and beautiful projects. I love the copper with these images! As far as an idea.... how about county fair/ local carnival? A Ferris wheel, tickets, game wheel, etc.? That would be great for cardmakers and scrapbookers alike. Thanks for a chance to win these wonderful stamps.

  3. That steampunk kit looks awesome! Really clever to include the embossing ink and perfect pearls, for those really fit the theme! Now to the difficult part: chosing a theme... (only one!) How 'bout fantasy? Fairies, gnomes, pixies, mushrooms,... Always fun to use!

  4. Love your Steampunk series Roni! It is great to see you venturing into jewelry design as well.

As far as themes go, I love anything nature based with images that are small enough to use with jewelry. I also love text and word based images that have something inspiring to say.

  5. Roni -

Love your projects. This looks like an awesome set of stamps. I also agree with Anne, would love to see some stamps centered around Tarot cards, fortune telling. How about a ouija board? Perhaps some realistic looking dragons, maybe mermaids?

  7. I love the new kit. It is a little late for this year, but I would love to have some celtic/st. pats type stamps. Something more in your style than the cutesy ones I'm always finding.

Another idea, expand on the wheat from last fall. I would love to see more sheafs, old tractors, scythes, etc.

  16. Neat theme. It seems like most people have a neat idea for a possible theme for a stamp set. I going to head over to the store to look around. As for my theme idea...I like to fantasy idea! I have a good sized selection of fairies, but I'm always looking for more. I like to do scenic stamping with them. You never know where they'll be...

  19. My idea for a "Get Inked" kit theme: backgrounds and texture!!! Imo, one can never have enough background stamps, and adding texture almost always works if you need a finishing touch. :) Thanks for the giveaway, Roni, I'd love to win some stamps!

I am loving All the new directions you've been taking and am always so inspired!
I would also really like to see some transportation themed kits...maybe vintage transports such as dirigibles, steam locomotives, old ships? Not enough cool masculine images out there. I would also love to see more woodland fantasy themes such as gnomes. Can you just imagine a little gnome village made of carved tree stumps, mushrooms, and branches?

  24. Fantastic stamps and samples! I have to admit that I needed to look up the definition of Steampunk because, although I have been seeing that term I really didn't know what it meant! After surfing the web for examples of this style I am so inspired!
I would love to see more Steampunk, but also think images of architecture, or nature images like spiderwebs, feathers, ferns etc. would make an awesome kit.

  32. Steampunk has always intrigued me, and I'm gathering bits n pieces to try my hand at it some day. Love your Steampunk necklace.

As for ideas for future designs, I like the Celtic idea someone has suggested. Also, birds, feathers, nests maybe tied in with a "home" theme. ??
