Welcome January 2011!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful evening last night...

Not only is it a start of a new year it's also the start of another new month ~ January ~ so that means it's time for more monthly/weekly/daily observances!

Random thought....While I was wandering around looking for January holidays/observances I realized just how many things are going on each day.  In some cases only 3-4 but on other days there were as many as 10-15 different things to think about, celebrate or whatever. (Note: I only included a few for each day...if I listed them all this post would be pages and pages long)  Makes you wonder why the people inventing these events don't look for a month or day that has little or nothing going on that day doesn't it?!?

  1. LOL! I think my favorite January observance would have to be the 13th, Make your dreams come true day and Rubber duckie day because it's also my birthday! I didn't know I shared my day with the rubber duckies! Too funny!

  2. January 27
    Chocolate Cake Day
    Mad Tea Party Day
    (Lewis Carroll's B-Day)
    National Toilet Day

Love Lewis Carroll, going to plan something fun for my seniors' English class that day. Most of them do not know Lewis Carroll just the Disney movie. I think I'll pass out some of the riddles from his book for them, and since it is also Chocolate Cake Day I might bring some of that and some tea too!

  7. National Apricot Day (Jan. 9) would have to be my favorite. It reminds me of an apricot tree that grew over my grandma's fence. Apricots were the catalyst to a lovely friendship with her elderly neighbor and a seasonal opportunity to watch my grandma can apricots in her kitchen.
