Ranger Tech. Calendar - August - Perfect Pearls

I know everyone likes to use Perfect Pearls to make a beautiful shimmer mist (or use the new pre-mixed mist) but today I wanted to share another great use for these great pigment powders....painting!

Supplies:

Perfect Pearls - Ranger
Embossing Ink - Ranger
Embossing Powder - Ranger
Heat Tool - Ranger
Non-Stick Craft Mat - Ranger
Black Cardstock
Rubber Stamp - Judikins
Paintbrush
Water

Instructions:

1. Stamp your image using embossing ink over the entire sheet of black cardstock.

2. Sprinkle with black embossing powder, shake off excess and heat to melt the powders.

3. Now it's time to mix the Perfect Pearls paint.  I like to use a tiny popsicle stick to pick up the PP's.  It's actually a scrapbook embellishment but it's the perfect size for mixing one batch of paint.  It also fits very well into the Mini Mister when I do make up Perfect Pearls Mist.  ;)

4. Next add a couple drops of water next to the pile of PP's.  This will make a nice medium consistency.  Add more water for a thin shimmery glaze, less water for a thicker cream paint.

5. Pull the water into the Perfect Pearls using the paint brush stirring as you go.  You should stir until the PP's is a smooth consistency and there are no more clumps.

6. You may now being to paint your embossed images.  The embossed lines will resist the paint making it very easy to stay in the lines.  Do to the small details of my image I am using a very tiny brush but for images with larger spaces you can use big brushes.

I started with the sunflower petals using sunflower sparkle of course ;)

7. Next I painted the background using Forever Green.

8. Finally I finished off each flower by painting the sunflower head with Perfect Bronze.  Since the open areas were so very tiny in the center I applied a small circle of PP paint to the very center then used a tissue to spread the paint around the rest of the center.  

And it's finished....  Isn't the shimmer and shine amazing?  I just love the results of this technique!
