My favourite holiday in December is my birthday, which is today :-) Lovely goodies you're offering once again. Thanks a lot!
ReplyDeleteFavorite holiday....National Chocolate Day :)
ReplyDeleteWow, December I think all of them are my favourite. My birthday is the 6 December, so as Aisling says is my own holiday! Then, we have a holiday on the 16 which is always the start of the mad Christmas rush for me, and then of course there is Boxing Day which I always feel as a time to recouperate from Christmas! So, I guess they are all special.
ReplyDeleteI am going to take the latter option, I would like to see December 29th become a worldwide holiday of Peace. Imagine one day that the entire world had no violence...WOW, what a day that would be.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little, my favourite holiday in December (apart from Christmas itself!!) used to be Dec 6th, Saint Nicholas Day. I loved putting my boots out for Saint Nicholas, and checking the contents in the morning. But I think your idea for the 29th is fantastic, and I'm ALL FOR an International Inky Day! :)
ReplyDelete--Mina
I love National Chocolate Day !!!! I would go a step further and say National Dark Chocolate Day !!!
ReplyDeleteAs much as i LUV the thought of Chocolate Day & Cookie Day---i would like to see "Fill A Stocking For A Shelter Animal Day". All the dogs & cats that are waiting for a forever home need something extra this time of year!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Giveaway! Thanks so much for a wonderful blog!
debzdogz@comcast.net
28th... Chocolate Day, I always get a special package from my wonderful daughter in law in Germany of German chocolates.
ReplyDeleteWho needs a reason to celebrate?! I love each day...even Mondays. If I could name December 29th as a holiday, I would call it National Smile Day. What would the day be like if everyone smiled all day?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday, apart from christmas is the fifth of December.
ReplyDeleteIn the Netherlands, Saint Nicholas' Eve (5 December) is the chief occasion for gift-giving during the Christmas season. The evening is called "sinterklaasavond" or "pakjesavond". In the Netherlands, most children receive their presents on this evening.
Mostly self-made poems accompany bigger gifts; which is sometimens very hilarious!! Instead of such gifts being brought by Sinterklaas, family members may draw names. Gifts are to be creatively disguised (for which the Dutch use the French word "surprise"), and are usually accompanied by a humorous poem which often teases the recipient for well-known bad habits or other character deficiencies. THIS IS REALLY THE NICEST PART OF IT!!! LOL
I think of all the days you have posted i would most like National Relaxation Day. I vaguely remember what it is to relax and would love to be reminded. :-)
ReplyDeleteI also have to agree with a previous poster and say that the 29th would be the perfect get inky day!
I think Ink Stained Fingers Day for the 29th would be good. But Decemer 6th is my birthday and that can't be ignored..nor should it! Lol. Happy Holidays! I see Tracy's birthday is Dec. 6th too..we should get together for a party..woo-hoo!
ReplyDeleteRelaxation day on the 30th gets my vote. Actually, I would like to have that happen 5 days of the 30...lol.
ReplyDeleteThis is a frantic time, but if we could all take a breath and realize that it will all work out in the end, our lives would be a bit less stressful. I know, famous last words and all that.
Thanks for the wonderful Blog candy offering.
Would LOVE to try the new colors of washes. You are so generous.
ReplyDeleteThank you - enjoy your blog always.

Just wanted to say hi, long time since I have been by. I love Halloween because it gives us all a chance to be creative and the time of year is fun too. Christmas and December is nice, I have a birthday as well as Christmas to celebrate, so it's always a busy time. Have a great week!
ReplyDeletenational inky fingers day. Everyone would get a day off to craft.
ReplyDeleteSince the 4th is on a Saturday and I was planning to bake cookies with the grandkids I go with cookie day.
I'd love the 29th to be the official Inky day, even if that seems like evreyday to me!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday in December is my husband's birthday on Dec 2. I'm rather glad he's around.
ReplyDeleteGotta be National Chocolate Day, but I eat chocolate everyday, so I don't really need a day to celebrate it.
ReplyDeleteI think every day of December is special. My my mum's birthday is at the beginning. Then there are the advent calendars. cakes and biscuits to bake. last minute gifts to bake. Then after Christmas time to relax with the family. Its a great month!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite would have to be National Chocolate Day. I didnt know there was such a day but I love my chocolate. What an awesome prize. I would love to try out that colorwash I have never seen it before.
ReplyDeleteI like your idea for an Inky day but how about one step further and make it,"Ink up a Neglected Stamp Day". Our motto could be "Saving our stash, one stamp at a time". Chocolate optional..
ReplyDeleteDoes it get any better then Cat herders Day. LOL Thanks for the list, & a chance at a great prize.
ReplyDeleteHow funny! My favorite Holiday besides the many days and parties of Christmas is my niece Grace's Birthday! It is the 28th also chocolate day! Another great reason to celebrate... I love making the day about her... no Christmas... she loves monkeys and not pink... so I can see many varieties of fun days happening! Thanks for letting us be silly and think out side of the box a little! So fun! pjritsema at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteHey Roni...my favorite month as well...luv Christmas, but it is my birthday month too! and this year..our son will be here on the 13th after a very long semester in Russia...so we are totally geeked to have him back in the good ole USA. Hi 5 to Tracy...we have the same birthday! ty for all the Dec trivia..u have such a wealth of info here always for us! Good Luck all!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about these lovely chocolate holidays before you sent the list. I think I'm going to need to start celebrating Chocolate Day. Think of the opportunities. We could do chocolate colored cards, or stamp blocks of warmed chocolate. The ideas, the ideas.
ReplyDeleteI love knowing that Walt Disney's birthday was Dec. 5th.... same as my step-dad's was. I suspect Walt had a twinkle in his eyes just like my dad did. :)
ReplyDeleteRoni, thanks for a chance at some great blog goodies!
DeniseB
All the days before Christmas but certainly the 23 of december is the best for me but not because it's my bithday ...
ReplyDeleteA lot of kiss from Spain
Helena
I love Dec, 2nd (Coats for Kids Day). Our local businesses have a 'Coats for Cold' thing every winter. I take in aa many coats/jackets/blankets, etc. that I come up with to them. They then distribute to the schools, homeless, etc. So whoever needs to be warmed up can be. It's an awesome thing, I think.
ReplyDeleteI agree with others...let's make Dec. 29th "Get Inky Day" in honor of you Roni!!!! You are one of the most generous crafters I've ever known. Not just with giveaways but with your knowledge and time that you share with all of us. Thank you so much!!!
December 23rd is my birthday, so that is my favorite other than Christmas! A birthday so close to Christmas is sometimes not as celebrated; but my parents, and then my family, have always tried to make it a special day for me. Thanks for the chance to win a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday in December, but not Christmas? That's a hard one. I think I would love to know about the "Cat Herder" holiday. Sounds quite interesting. A lot of funny images come to mind... And thank you for all that you share with us! May you have a wonderful December and a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteIt is a toss up for me between Dec 8 Brownie Day and Dec. 28 National Chocolate Day because I am all about the chocolate, and since they have proven research that chocolate helps prevents heart disease and cancerI feel totally justified.
ReplyDeleteartgirl
Oh, chocolate day of course!
ReplyDeleteoh wow ..... New Years Eve Day (family day) - but so many other look sooooo good!
ReplyDeletethanks for the fun!
Sandra
My favourite holiday for December is my son's birthday (Dec 15). This year, it's a special holiday, because he is half my age (or I'm twice as old). We are going to Ottawa where he works to celebrate with him.
ReplyDeleteI love National Chocolate Covered Anything Day.:O)
ReplyDeleteIt sound a lot of FUN.
Le jour que je prefere en decembre sont ceux que je passe pendant les fetes avec ma famille juste apres noel, donc le 26. Ainsi je peux rendre visite a toute ma famille.
ReplyDeleteI have to love National Chocolate Day, anything to do with chocolate is good but I like your idea of Inky Fingers day, not that we really need an excuse.
ReplyDeleteI would like to invent a holiday that celebrates there isn't a holiday that day. Something like an very merry unholiday day.
ReplyDeleteHanukkah would be my favorite holiday after Christmas.
ReplyDeleteOh my I'd have to say the 8th, brownie day!!! Mmm I dont think I've ever met a brownie I didnt like.
ReplyDeleteI think Dec 29 should be "get inky day". I too never heard of alot of these days in December. Thanks for sharing and for a chance to win!!
ReplyDeleteDebbie B
Oh my!!!
ReplyDeleteI want to choose National Chocolate Day, but instead, I am making a NEW holiday on December 29th...which happens to be my boyfriend's birthday...so I proclaim it National Boyfriend's Birthday Day...yeah!!!
Thanks and love your blog! Just stumbled on it tonite!!! I'll be following and also be sending word to some friends to check it OUT!!!
Teena :)
Saint Nicolas the 6th of december. In the east of France it's a special feast.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday in December is the 26th, my granddaughter, Natasha's Birthday! She will be 13 this year and lives in Indonesia, so I won't be able to celebrate in person with her.
ReplyDeleteI love the month of December. The ground is white and the weather is nice and cold. I would have to pick December 24th. I have fond memories of being a little girl. Santa would wake us up and give us a stocking with an orange, an apple and some peanuts. It was so much fun. When I was older I realized that Santa was one of my older brothers.
ReplyDeleteNew Year's Eve. We don't go out - we stay home. We watch the ball drop with the kids, who usually camp out in the living room. We hang out and set up a table with a bunch of snack-y kinds of food like veggies and dip, chips, crackers and cheese, deviled eggs. It's just a fun, relaxed time. One year, we even dressed up (except my son, the party pooper!). My daughter and I used some dresses from her dress-up box, I made up our faces and hair. My husband wore a hat and a tie with his pajamas. It was fun!
ReplyDeleteLOL...my favorite December holiday just has to be Cat Herders Day!! Being the happy owner of 3 cats, I know how totally impossible that would be to celebrate!!
ReplyDeleteAs for a new holiday that I would love to see for the 29th, how about national Sit on the Couch and do Nothing Day??!! that's usually what I feel like doing after the holidays!
I have to say all though it does fall on the 25th I have to say that it is my Favorite day.My Beautiful youngest Grandaughter Sophia Grace was born that day. She'll be 3 this year.
ReplyDeleteIf I were to chose on the 29th it would be a day to relax and just do want ever and you don't have to cook day.
Looks like I got here just in time to enter this one. I like both the 27th and 28th. Both of these have holidays I can appreciate.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite "holiday" in December would have to be my parents birthdays. One is the 2nd and the other, the 8th. I'm thankful to have 2 loving, wonderful parents who love and support me in all I do. I enjoy getting to celebrate them!
ReplyDeleteI would like the 29th to be a "ME" day. After Thanksgiving, Xmas, all the baking and cooking, I need a "ME" day. And by all means bring on the chocolate!! Make that "DARK" chocolate!
ReplyDeleteWinter Solstice!
ReplyDeleteEspecially if the day is snowy, and this year with the lunar eclipse! Awesome!
