School Photo Mini Gift Album - Brag Book

I don't know when you start getting your school photos back but kids in our area usually start getting them back around this time of year. Since the boys are older now we don't have the fun of checking out the new pics each year but when they did, we had a yearly ritual of passing them out to relatives around Thanksgiving. I ran across some of their old school pics the other day and it got me to thinking...why just hand people the photos, why not create a neat little album to stick them in!

So here is what I came up with....

Brag Book

These little gems would be great for gifting to friends, relatives, and other special people in your child's lives. Quick, inexpensive and easy to make...it's a nice alternative for passing those school photos out!

Instructions:

1. Cut the outside cover as follows: 3 1/4" (8.255cm) x 8 1/2" (21.59cm)

2. Crease at 3/4" (1.9 cm), 4 3/4" (12cm), and 5" (12.7cm) as shown in the photo:

Set the cover aside.

3. Cut the inside pages as follows: 3" (7.62cm) x 10 1/4" (26cm)

4. Crease at 3 1/4" (8.225cm) & 6 1/2" (16.51cm) as shown in the photo. This will make the 3rd panel 3 3/4" (9.525cm)

5. Center the inside pages on the cover and fold the flap up as shown...

6. Affix the flap using a staple, large brad or if you have another favorite attacher go for it :) I'm using one of those large staple type things that says "Thanks" on it that I colored using Terra Cotta Alcohol Ink.

7. The rest of the folded inside pages will tuck behind this flap to keep them secure.

8. Cut a 1" (2.54cm) circle, fold it in half and attach it to the top of the inside pages. This becomes the little pull tab to unfold the pages.

You're all set to add photos!

These little albums will hold up to 6 photos as is or if you need additional space you can always extend the number by adding additional pages or lengthening the one page by adding extra pieces.

You could decorate the outside with anything from a school theme, seasonal, etc. Whatever tickles your creative fancy!

It's nice to hand these out personally but they also work well at protecting photos that you need to place in the mail.

Either way it's a great little gift for all the loved ones in your life!
