Another Contest!!

Well since the last two contests were such hits I thought I'd have another :) I was going to wait until May but I think it will be too late by then (you'll see what I mean in a minute).

I have a couple sets of Autumn Leaves stamps that need a good home...they are Flourishes v.2 and build-a-flower. So here's the deal....you can enter your name up to 3 times for a chance to win one of these great stamp sets and/or a surprise by answering the following questions....

FIRST -

Good for one entry for the stamp drawing....Answer this question (in the comments section)

I would like to see _____________ on the blog. Fill in the blank with something you'd like to see me make, step by step, a challenge, etc. You name it and if it's possible for me (like if I have supplies and am smart enough) I will do it at some point in the future :)

AND.....

SECOND & THIRD

(These next two are optional but I think fun!)

Let me explain a bit first ~ I added the site meter in December ~ (a couple weeks after I started the blog - had to figure out how to add it - lol!!) and to date there have been 8,641 individual visits and 14,699 page views!

So, your job....

Guess (to the nearest day) when you think visits will hit 10,000

and

Guess (to the nearest day) when you think page views will hit 20,000!

All correct guesses will receive a goodie from me (not sure what it will be yet) and one entry for a guess on 10,000 visits and one entry for a guess on 20,000 page views! For a total of 3 chances to win one of the Autumn Leaves Stamp sets :)

Now how easy is that!

All guesses should be posted in this thread and I'll post reminders and updates as time goes on :) So think about a technique, project or other challenge you'd like to see me try, dig out your calendars and post your guesses!!

Good Luck Everyone :)

  1. OK - I'll post again with more ideas and my guesses, but I wanted to add the first one that comes to mind.

I'd love to see a tutorial on making charms and pendants. For example, how to build a charm bracelet using brass or silver charms, cutting an image or photo to size and then sealing it with Ranger's Glossy Accents to make awesome jewelry. Basically - how to make a cool, altered art style bracelet or pendant necklace.

OK - that's my first idea. I'll keep thinking and will come back to post more later.

  2. Hey, Roni. :) Fun contests. :D

I'd love to see some of your projects you've done with Stickles. Maybe some cool techniques with them.

Also more techniques and projects using the Glossy, Crackle, and Sepia Accents.

Maybe some techniques and projecst with the Tim Holtz Crackle Paint. (I've got a couple of jars and don't know what to use them on!!)

Just some thoughts. ;) Now to look at a calender....I'll be back with some dates!!

  5. It's funny you mention the charms Phinny! I have been working on a Tim Holtz style necklace for a couple weeks now. I am making some of my charms and adding others (which I'm waiting on right now to finish it).

    Thanks!

  8. Love this blog - love the Ranger products - so this is perfect. I would love to see how to use colorwash sprays on small projects, like cards....I try, but once I use more then one color I end up with mud colors, never the crisp beautiful colors that are in the bottle. Any thoughts on this?

  10. OMG!! Phinny and Roni! I've been saving way cool bottle caps and found goodies to make charms and pendants out of! I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to swap some with you guys if you are interested.

As for techniques, I'd love to see you return to your roots a little and use some of these techniques on scrapbook pages. Possibly alter or jazz up a photograph to scrap it. I'd also like to see denim materials used with some of the inks.

  11. Hey, Shannon (did I get that right?!?). Yeah - maybe we should do a mini swap. E-mail me if you're interested, k?

And Roni - I thought of some more:

Texture Hammer - how to use it, techniques and projects. (I bought the darn thing when it first came out and haven't used it once. Erg!)

Color Wash - I second slbt17's suggestion here. I love these and it would be great to see different techniques like stencils, adding perfect pearls for shimmer, etc.

Drat! I had something else and forgot. I'll have to come back later when I think of some more. (We're gonna keep you busy, Roni! *grin*)

P.S. When do we get to see the necklace? Seriously, I'd really love for you to do a tutorial on how to make charms and pendants. You can even use shrink plastic, right? I have a gi-normous bag of silver and brass charms and all of the supplies. I just need some guidance to start creating some awesome wearable art pieces.

  16. Have to think a bit about the date parts of the contest, but I would love to see you do some projects using small stamp images! I have a ton of those really little stamp images that come as parts of sets, or that I bought back 15 years ago when my dd was little. What in the world to do with them?!!!
Would also love to see some tutorials on collage! Stamped and mixed media. You do collages so well, and I could use an extra bit of inspiration these days!

  17. Hi Roni, This is fun! I'd love to see some ideas for decorating laminate samples (the ones you can pick up at Home Depot, etc). These are the ones that are around 3 inches long and about 2 inches wide & have a hole poked in one end that would be perfect for attaching them to a cord.

I have a bunch that were about to be thrown out & would like to make some sort of necklaces out of them - possibly for DGD's teachers.

Thanks! You always come up with such good ideas! :-)

  19. Hey fuzzywhitedogs - too funny. I just got some of those laminate tags in the mail TODAY. (I found a good Ebay deal.) I'd love to see something for those, too. (*nodding*) You're so right - they'd make a great necklace or we could use them for tags to attach to cards and other pieces with ribbon.

    Great idea!

P.S. Roni - I TOLD you we were going to keep you busy! lol

  20. I'm going to guess June 11 for both. :-)

  21. Something with transparencies would be cool. Can you use alcohol inks on them? (see I'm clueless and need help.) :-)

  22. I'd like to see some altered office accessories. Anything goes. :o) Oh! Show me how to alter a desk calendar like this one: http://www.twinsupply.com/proddetail.asp?prod=AAGJ1700

10,000 I think will be hit on May 11.

20,000 I think will be hit on June 4.

  23. Okay, I'll take a stab at guessing the dates when you will hit the targeted numbers!
    For 10,000 hits, I guess June 20.
For 20,000 page views, how about July 4!

    ReplyDelete
