Snow Princess!

Not sure if you all know how much I love winter or not but yesterday we had our first official snow storm of the year!! We've had snow on and off for the last few weeks but it's only been a little here and there. Nothing that ever covered the ground and stayed for any period of time. Well now that we've finally got some I am so psyched about it!!
In honor of our first snow I wanted to share with you my Snow Princess Dress Form!!
A great project for those snowy winter afternoons!
All directions and supplies below.

Supplies: Adironack Color Wash Dye Ink Spray - Denim, Stream, Wild Plum & Eggplant; Archival Inks - Cobalt, Teal & Plum; Stickles - Purple, Aqua, Icicle; Beadazzles - Purple Rain; Glossy Accents; Adirondack Metallics Acrylic Dabber - Gold; Snowflake Stamps - Hero Arts , Gel-A-Tins & Paper Studio; Creative Imaginations Jeramee 12" Dress Form; Mod Podge; Other Supplies - Tissue Paper; Faux Fur Boa; Heart Gemstones (2 sizes); used Dryer Sheets; T-Pins; Wire.

Preparations:
  1. Start by dyeing the dress form with the Color Wash Spray. Mist areas with each color - Denim, Stream, Wild Plum & Eggplant (don't worry if it's not completely covered). Mist the entire dress form with water letting the colors blend into each other. Set aside to dry completely.
  2. Gather 8 used dryer sheets. Dye with Color Wash Spray - 2 Denim, 2 Stream, 2 Wild Plum & 2 Eggplant. Set aside to dry.
  3. Once the dryer sheets are dry, apply various colors of stickles to each sheet and let dry.
  4. Cut a piece of tissue paper approximately 24 x 36". (This is what you will cover the dress form with.)
  5. Stamp snowflakes in various colors of Archival Inks over entire sheet of tissue paper. Crumble & smooth out.
  6. Paint the base & finial with Gold Acrylic Dabber.

Assembly:

  1. Apply Mod Podge to the front of the dress form.
  2. Lay the tissue paper over the Mod Podge and gently push the tissue paper into the adhesive. Don't worry if the tissue paper tears, you can use left-overs to cover that area.
  3. Continue to apply Mod Podge and tissue paper until the entire form is covered. Tear off excess tissue paper and repair any areas that may have been torn.
  4. Set aside and let dry. As the adhesive drys you will notice that the tissue paper "disappears" and the snowflakes appear to have been stamped on the form.
  5. Once dry, apply various colors of Stickles Glitter Glue to the snowflakes.
  6. Cut each dryer sheet in half leaving you 16 rectangles.
  7. Pick up the dryer sheet in the center of the rectangle and give it a flick with your wrist as you would a napkin to create a nice ruffle in the sheet.
  8. Attach the sheet to the bottom edge of the dress form with a "T" pin. Alternate colors the entire way around the bottom of the form. (Note: don't worry about trying to hide the "T" pins as the fur will cover them.)
  9. Apply Glossy Accents around the neck and shoulders of the dress form in desired pattern. Cover with Beadazzle micro bead mixture.
  10. Attach heart gemstones around the bottom edge of the Beadazzle pattern.
  11. Wrap boa around the bottom edge of the dress form and adhere with "T"pins.
  12. Cover a piece of wire with the remainder of the boa and form into the shape of wings. Attach to the back of the dress form using "T" pins and adhesive.

I hope you give this project a try, it really does go very quickly and the results are amazing :) If you do happen to make your own, please be sure and post a link to your Snow Princess!

Happy Inking Friends!!
