Casting it's Spell Shaker Card

Today I wanted to share my latest Fairy Hugs creation...

I love making shaker cards and this one seemed perfect for the new sea sentiment.

To create this card I first colored two pieces of cardstock using Distress Oxide inks. The inside panel was inked with Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean, the outside panel was initially inked with Twisted Citron and Mustard Seed.

From there I stamped the sentiment on the inside panel and embossed with black embossing powder. The outside panel was stamped using VersaMark ink and the Rope Net until the panel was covered. It was then embossed with clear embossing ink. Salty Ocean and Peeled Paint were then rubbed over top of the embossing to make the rope image pop.

The center of the rope panel was die-cut, this window was covered with a piece of acetate and the back was joined to the front panel with foam tape after it was filled with shaker bits from Sparkle Blends.

This shaker was then added to a black card base.

Easy Marble Under the Sea Card with Fairy Hugs

Today I wanted to share my latest Fairy Hugs creation...

I love creating cards "off the paper" using different and unusual materials for my backgrounds. I have used Rinea foiled paper which was dipped into Marabu's Easy Marble medium. It's so much fun because the outcome is always a unique surprise. If you haven't tried it you really should.

So after the foiled paper was marbled and dried it was time to start stamping to create this lovely underwater scene. All of the images were stamped using VersaFine Clair ink which was left to dry naturally. The panel was then matted and popped onto the blue card base.

Shakin' Things Up with Marina

Today I wanted to share my latest Fairy Hugs creation...

Today I wanted to share a fun shaker card I made using a couple of the new stamps from the recent stamp release and the new Fairy Scapes - Deep Blue Sea.

I started off by drawing a circle with a pencil on a sheet of the Deep Blue Sea cardstock. I then stamped the Teeny Ocean creatures around the edge of the circle using various colors of ink.  I then fussy cut around the inside of the circle.  I stamped Marina on the cut away portion of the cardstock.  I then set about creating the shaker by adding a piece of acetate to the back of the card panel, foam tape, shaker bits from Sparkle Blends (Ocean Beauties) and finally the stamped circle.  The shaker was mounted on silver metallic cardstock and a blue card blank.  A few enamel bubble stickers were added to finish off the card.

Spotlight on Sandy

Today I wanted to share my latest Fairy Hugs creation...

Sandy is such a lovely detailed and intricate stamp, I really wanted to highlight that in this card.

I started off by stamping the seahorse in the center of a piece of card made using Cosmic Pixie Dust pigment powders for the background. I then stamped both sizes of the Twisted Seaweed around the outside edge of the panel. I then stamped the Ivy Seaweed in the center surrounding Sandy to highlight it even more.  I matted and mounted this panel and finished it off with purple gemstones around the edge.  I wish you could see the shimmer and shine from the Cosmic Pixie Dust...it really adds so much IRL.

Mermaid Wreath Easel Card

Today I wanted to share my latest Fairy Hugs creation...

I had so much fun making this card. Initially I wanted to make a wreath on the front of my card using the various elements but then I thought it would be fun to turn it into a 3D card and figured out how to pop the wreath onto an easel card!

I had to do a bit of element rearranging so I could prop the wreath up but I think it turned out pretty good.

To create this card I started out by covering a piece of chipboard with blue cardstock and then cut out the wreath. I then stamped all of the elements onto pieces of cardstock and fussy cut.   These elements were arranged then re-arranged until I got the look I was going for.  Some of the elements were glued directly to the wreath and others were added with one or two layers of foam tape to pop them off of the wreath to create depth and dimension.  Glitter was added to the areas where the wreath cardstock showed through.

Next I stamped the inside of the card that would be exposed once the easel was propped up. I used resin gems and pearls to prop up the ease.  This card was mounted on black and white mats and finally attached to the blue card panel.

I had such fun creating this little ocean tale in the round.
I hope you have enjoyed it as well!
