Inspire Your Heart with Art Give-A-Way

Not sure if you were aware that January 31st was Inspire Your Heart with Art Day.  I tried to find out a little bit more about this celebration of the arts but from what I could find nobody really knows when it started or by whom...  What I do know is that it is a day to celebrate art - be it in the form of visiting a museum, concert, or something more hands on like taking an art class or making something of your own.

I participated in that by sharing this canvas I made... Create Art

In February, I was inspired by Patience Brewster, an artist and designer of unique gifts, to reflect on "Inspire Your Heart With Art Day".

Well, I've been thinking about it ever since.  Let me back up a bit...quite a few years ago someone that I thought was an art mentor to me told me that I should never "give" art away.  I had to put a price on everything I created or I wouldn't go far.  As it turned out that person did put a price on everything and has gone on to bigger and better things.

For me though the joy is in sharing art - both the making of and the art it's self.  That is why I share product info, techniques, tutorials and the art I create with you all.  I just can't put a price on something that comes from the heart which I suppose is why I'll never be rich and famous.

SO I have decided that periodically I am going to inspire my heart by giving away some of the Art I have created and today is the first of I hope many!

I will be giving away LOTS of art...  I have gathered the following pieces I've made over the past months and will be giving each piece away to one of my Ink Stained friends... all you have to do to enter is leave a comment telling us all what about Art inspires your Heart.  I will give you until April 11th to post a comment to be entered to win one of these goodies!

Beach Canvas Album 001

I also have an assortment of Ice Resin charms in my pile of goodies as well!

So, if you'd like your chance to win some Art to Inspire Your Heart simply leave a comment to be entered for your chance to win!  Be sure to leave a way for me to contact you.  Please be sure to share on your blogs or facebook pages as well.

Have an artful day friends!!

  1. What a wonderful thing to do, Roni! I check in daily to see what you are up to, and am always inspired by your art and informed by your tutorials and detailed reviews. I love the freedom and variety of your work, which I assume comes from not being tied to tightly to any one line of products. Your decision to follow your generous heart has no doubt added joy to many lives! Can't put a price on that!

  3. Hmmmm. What about art inspres my heart? I love looking at beautiful things. That's why I subscribe to over 300 blogs. I love when I creat art. It gives me a feeling of joy to see a finished piece. I have sold a few of my watercolours but mostly I give them as gifts. Same way with my cards, I love donating them to operation wite home. It is the joy of creating that is my goal, everything else is just gravy!

  4. Your art inspires me, as so many bloggers. Seeing the talent of anyone is a marvel.. I too give away my art. I also make cards for OWH and lots of ATC's. Sitting down and not know what what will come together is always a "ahhhhhh" moment. Life inspires me.

  5. Your art inspires me as well as other bloggers. I don't know if she still does but my favorite artist Jody Bergsma used to do amazing pieces of art with whimsical children. My favorite piece is a lithograph I own by her which was done in 1983. It is a boat named Beginnings full of children. The proceeds from the sale of it went to benefit abused and neglected children. I understand the need for artist to sell their work but I like it when they give away or donate some of their artwork. I prefer to donate or give away my creations. For me selling my cards would be too much like work. I create for the joy it gives me.

  6. What beautiful projects - and what a lovely idea for a giveaway! Art inspires my heart because it's a bit of an escape for me. I can forget about all my troubles and get lost in my creations. The time flies! I enjoy seeing other people's art as well - of course I like some more than others because of personal preference - but I can always appreciate art no matter what. I will post your giveaway on my sidebar - thank you!

  7. I so agree with you that the heart celebrats when you are able to give something away to someone who needs it; to someone who treasures it; to someone who needs help in getting their heart to smile or their soul to sing. I should tell anyone who favorably comments on my art, my clothing or assesories to be careful what they say.....as they may find it in their mail soon.

  10. Roni, thank you so much for all that you share. I really enjoy coming to your blog to see what you've been creating. And thanks so much for this giveaway, I really love them all but especially the house card. I love colour and most of what I create is with delicious colours and techniques, I love getting lost in the art process, it really takes me to another place. I have sold my art many years ago, but since I started papercrafting, my biggest joy is to give it all away and make someone's day a little brighter. Doing this also puts me under no pressure from anyone, I can just create away to my hearts content......and loving every minute of it.

  13. Oh my goodness, you are so inspiring! I love your art, reviews and creativity that you so willing share with us. I love art in whatever forms it takes. I always hope that when I give someone a card or canvas that it brings them the same happiness I had making it.

  14. That's a good question, Roni. I suppose it depends on what we're talking about--in other's art, each piece may have a different take-away. In making my own art, it's just something I've always done. But I really appreciate people who are willing to teach, and share techniques, and get excited about what they're doing. (And interject here what JackieP said!!!)

  18. I would be honored to own a piece of your art! Art inspires my Heart by being my "me" time - creating de-stresses me, even planning a project, thinking about how I can get something to "work" or look the way I want makes me happy. I love to send the cards I've made as a quick "thinking of you" to my friends; who doesn't like something other than bills in the mail?? I have been following you since I started combining my art with the internet and you never cease to inspire me :)

  19. What inspires my heart is knowing that I'll be making my friends happy when I send out a handmade card. Not only are they thrilled to get a handwritten note (vs. an email) but they know that what they are receiving is a one-of-a-kind piece of art made just for them! And personally, it's rewarding to me to see the end result -- an idea from my head come to life on paper. [You can contact me at postamgestamp@cox.net.]

  21. I get so much inspiration from your art. Our tastes are so different but your art actually opens me up, to stretch out and try new things. I've been stuck in the same box for so long. It's been wonderful to see your take on creativity. Your art is beautiful and so free. It's helped me looses up and get outside my 'box'. I've seen that lines don't have to be so strict after all. All your art is special.
