Cock-A-Doodle-Dooooo

Are you awake yet?

I know I promised to have some cards incorporating some of my monoprints today but I had to help DH deliver some hay last night so we were gone most of the evening and I didn't get a chance to play...  I'm going to work on those sometime this weekend so I thought I'd share a couple farm inspired cards today featuring - Chickens!

This rooster was colored using Spectrum Noir markers with a bit of Distress Stain used for the ground.  I originally tied the bit of string and it looked so bare so I tucked a vintage green supermarket trading stamp into the twine and for some reason it just worked.

Stamp Credits: Deep Red Stamps

This is one of JFF's Stamptangle stamps...their take on easy Zentangle creations.  I colored this hen with various colors of Distress Stains blending as I went along.

Hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!

  1. That savings green stamp works perfectly on the first card and I love the addition of buttons. That second card is totally delightful. I love the second card also with the hen on the music. Beautiful job coloring with the distress stain.

    Happy Mother's Day to you!

I appreciate all the work you put in this blog and understand that it takes a lot of time.
That is one of the reasons I don't have a blog myself.

  3. I have a love for chicken and rooster stamps...so yes, I LOVE these cards! The colors are wonderful and that little trading stamp tucked under the jute is perfect! Hmmmm, I wonder what I ever did with my Mom's old trading stamps? I know that I found some when we were clearing out her house and I know I saved them so now I need to dig around and use them on some cards!
