3 Day Weekends...

I don't know about you but when I get back to "work" after a 3 day weekend I always feel like I've been put though the wringer - LOL!!

First off let me say I hope you all had a wonderful weekend (here in the USA) with your families and that you were able to pay honor to a military person or two...if it weren't for them we wouldn't be afforded all of the wonderful opportunities we have as a member of the United States!  My little contribution was to cook at the family bar-b-que...normally my dad cooks for us all but Mom asked if I'd do it this year and of course I said yes.  I think this is the first time I can remember that Dad hasn't had to cook while we all were eating (to get 'em while they were hot that is).   He was able to relax and eat and chit chat it up.  :)

It's also a busy time here on the farm as well...dh and the guys made hay, sprayed that field and planted beans.  They are as I type out plowing the very field up to plant beans in it....  Here's a picture I took just a bit ago....  Dh is on the front tractor and youngest ds is on the far tractor.

They also went and picked up a couple "new to us" tractors.  The boys traded a few off of their tractors to a guy and got 2 different ones.  An Allis-Chalmers D-15 and a Case (which ds is driving in the above photo).  I got to drive one and here's the proof ....fun fun!

And I promised I would take a few Springtime "around the farm" photos for a few people so I took those this weekend as well...

On top of all that we had to replace our water heater this weekend...it quit working on Sunday a.m. so dh spent about half the day removing, installing, re-pluming and stopping leaks!  Ick...not fun but it's done so we shouldn't have to worry about that again for a while.

  1. Sounds like you had an interesting weekend. Sorry about the water heater I know that is not the way that dh planned to spend his Sunday. Thanks for sharing the photos of the farm and all the pretty flowers in bloom. I love this time of year with the flowers blooming.

I missed not being able to put flowers on my dad's grave or my late husband's. I didn't miss trying to navigate my way in the cemetery.Always bumper to bumper traffic Memorial weekend. At least I know there was a flag at each graveside commemorating their service to our country. I also know that they heard my silent thank you in my heart.

    Wishing you a GREAT week!
