25 Ideas for the Holidays - #1 Keepsake Christmas Story Tree

Today I wanted to share a really fun project to make for your family or to make as a gift for someone else.
This is a very fun project ~ it's a bit time consuming but I'm sure it will be a keepsake for generations to come.   One of my favorite stories at Christmas is Twas the Night before Christmas and I've had it in my mind for quite some time to make something really special using this story.
Well, Jean at Altered Pages got in these really cool large sized wooden spools.  I figured this was the perfect vehicle for an idea I've had rolling around in my brain for a while....a "spool" story.  Just a plain old spool isn't any fun at all so I thought it would be fun to top it with a folk art type feather tree using wired spruce branches, vintage sheet music, Vintage Santa collage images and a few other bits and this is what I came up with....

I'm sure most of you can figure out how to make one on your own. But, if you're short on time and supplies Altered Pages offers this kit ~ 'Twas the Night before Christmas Story Spool Tree ~ with a set of my instructions (including step by step photos), measurements, and all the goodies to make it for only $16.75. Quite a bargain and a real time-saver since I've done all the measuring work for you ahead of time.

Either way...if you make it yourself or buy the kit I'm sure the "kids" both young and old at your home will enjoy this time honored classic Christmas story book keepsake.

Ho Ho Ho....
Only 21 Days Til Christmas!!!
