Painting in the Dark - 5 Year Blogiversary Blog Hop!

Hi Friends ~

I am honored to be included in Susan's 5 year Blogiversary Blog Hop.
Her challenge to the participants....alter a wooded spoon!

Well, how can you turn down a challenge like that?

Here are my contributions to this fun event....

This Little Bird....

First I stained the Spoon with Walnut Stain, Old Paper and Peeled Paint Distress Inks.  I then glued on  1/2 of a small woven birds next, a small resin egg; added fiber & faux pearls, tiny flowers, real feathers and the little bird image from Altered Pages collage sheet - Little Spring Birdies AP2125.

Mysterious...

This spoon was initially colored using Viva Decor's Inka Gold in Copper.  The inspiration for this spoon came from Altered Pages collage sheet - Feeling Mysterious.  I took the image of this very mysterious woman and ran with it.  I tried to picture what she might be wearing and went from there...lots of lace, sparkle, feathers and gemstones!

I love how she turned out :)

Be sure to check out all of the other altered spoons on this fun and creative blog hop....
and don't forget to stop by and tell Susan - Happy Blogiversary!!!!

Love your spoons Roni, I have had a wonderful time visiting all the blogs. I have never thought to alter a wooden spoon but I can't wait to get my hands on one. Unfortunately the one in the kitchen gets used too much for me to steal it. LOL Thanks for the inspiration.

Roni - thanks so much for playing along in my very first bloghop. I am so excited that you played along. I love your two spoons - both are so fantastic and so dramatically different. I have admit that when I joined the AP team, I was so happy to be on the team with one of my favorite altered book authors!!! I recommend your book to everyone. I had to pay fines to my local library for returning it so late {four weeks was not enough}. Sending you many Big Crafty Hugs - Susan
